We have just returned from the oasis paraiso and my overall comment would be BORING. The resort itself is very quiet and is only about 100m long, with the usual souviner shops, only a few bars all which were dead apart from the britannia inn which was brill. the hotel is... more

Amazing!!!
We have just come back from Tenerife and i had the most incredible time! The hotel was wonderful, on first appearance I was a bit worried but I was soon realising my original opinion was very wrong. The staff were absolutely amazing, the maids were very thorough, the chefs produced fantastic food every night, and the waiters worked very hard. The entertainment staff are very good at their jobs. Danny and Andre - you guys are my stars!!!! I would definately recommend this holiday as there is lots to do and the people are very friendly. I will return in the near future!!
Great hotel based holiday
Returned today from a fab 2 wks at the Fiesta Oasis Paraiso. Hotel first class, food wonderful, pool great weather superb, entertainment very good day and night. Resort quiet with one main street with a couple of supermarkets, a few bars and souvenier shops, lido down the road but never needed to use it as hotel pool was lovely with plenty of sun loungers. Only thing missing was the beach this is very much an hotel based holiday. would definitly go again.
Alright - a bit.. "away from everything"
The hotel itself.. I haven't any problems with. It had a nice room; which was spacious, and a good en-suite. Only problem I have is the resort. It hadn't got a beach when we went (2002/3).. and when I did walk down to the 'beach' I found it to be dirty (black almost) with sewage running into it (literally).. so that put me off. However the hotel provides a free shuttle bus into nearby Playa de Las America's which is much nicer. However, the holiday was spoilt in Playa de las Americas for us - DO NOT DO THE SCRATCHCARDS ON THE STREETS!! We got one, and 'won' a holiday. So we were treated beautifully in a taxi and offered 5* treatment to receive it.. but we had to view a presentation. 3 hours later, we were conned out of £14,000! So beware people.. it put a damper on our holiday. But really, the hotel wasn't that bad.. average I would say... nice for the average Brit :) Matt
Second time around just as fab
Went for a week to the paraiso at the end of November and loved every minute of it. Only left the hotel once for a day out, was happy to stay at the hotel for the rest of the time, there's lots of activities organised by the entertainment team ("Hello Danny and Tommy!!!") They really do their best every day to make sure you're having a good time, lots of fun little games organised so even the smallest children can join in. Food excellent, microwaves on hand to warm food up if people complain its not hot enough. Rooms are clean, maids in every day, fresh towels daily. Swimming pool area is lovely, little paddling pool for small children. All the staff are nice and friendly, always got time for you. Booked again for November this year, looking forward to it already!!
the best of the rest
I have just spent 2 weeks at the oasis, and still wish I was there. It was a lazy holiday but with the entertainment on both on in the evening and at night you found you were never bored, especially if you were fortunate to have Danny or merium. The entertainment at night offered something for everyone with a lot of adult participation. The location itself was quiet but there was a karaoke bar which soon livened the place up. If you do find yourself thinking what to do, there was a free bus outside the hotel to go to las americas and then there was a normal bus just down the road where you could go to los Gigantes which was also good. There is also a nice small beach the lido which is a bout 15 minute walk from the hotel, which was freezing but lovely.... I will definetely be going back around March.
brill holiday
i went to tenerife 2003 may with my two teenage daughters.didnt no what to expect.once we had got to the hotel we were a bit weary it didnt seem to be very lively,i thought my kids would be totally bored for two weeks.but once we had settled in and found out where everything was we had a brilliant holiday.everyday there was some competition or other to do.the entertainment staff were excellant with them.the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was really nice.out of the fortnight we were there we only left the hotel three times.we have been back twice and are hoping to go again early next year.brilliant holiday
amazing
the hotel was amazing the best holiday i have ever had and the entertainers sasha danni and mirihum were really amazing miss you guys but if it were not for our rep kelly it would not have been the same she made us feel so at home and we miss her lods just to say a big thanks kelly .Emma xxx
what a holiday
myself my hubby and our son have just returned from hol this morning..after staying at the oasis... what a fantastic time we had. my son is 12 and he did not moan those words ( im bored ) once, the entertainment was great, the food was great . the weather was outstanding. the pool was warm. the only slight problem was the pool was just one depth .. and not so good for say the younger children if they were not too good a swimmer, and the childrens pool was ankle height.. but all in all FANTASTIC
Reliable food, accommodation and weather - even TV in room!
Having just arrived back in the UK from a week at the Oasis Paraiso, there are some pros and cons to staying here. I'm glad to say the pros outweighed the cons and we enjoyed our stay here! Pros: - if you want a hotel-based holiday, this hotel really goes the extra mile to provide a range of facilities including hourly free activities (archery/rifle shooting, boules, darts around the pool) and really cheesy evening entertainment (flamenco, bingo, magic and fashion shows). Not really my thing but if you are elderly or have a young family you don't have to leave the hotel to do anything if you don't want to. - the food: it was definitely edible and going half/full board is normally a big gamble. The salad daily is excellent and you can also have daily hot specials including seafood paella (very good), beef, duck, chicken, lamb and pork roasts. The lunchtime bar food is a little limited so it is worth venturing out to one of the few resort bars that sell food. Wide choice of yummy puddings and breakfast variety vast and suits all needs. - local bars: limited (i.e. less than 5) but warm hospitality nonetheless. Brittania bar and Rhythm and Booze most recommended. Some of the bars also seem to be obsessed with cheesy entertainment and there appeared to be sound-a-like cabaret on most nights. Yawn... - hotel: many nationalities staying here - mostly english, spanish, italian, french and some german. However, that means that everyone speaks English as the common language and the hotel staff all speak it very well. - hotel: clean - room and towels always very clean. Our shower looked wimpish but it was powerful and there was loads of hot water. - hotel: TV in rooms. You can pay 18Eu per week and get BBC1/ITV if your holiday would be ruined by missing Corrie and EastEnders for a week. Most of the channels are Spanish, but there is also CNN Europe and BBC World News to keep up to date with the daily news in English for free. - free bus to and from Las Americas from the hotel 3 times a day. There may be no beach at the hotel but you can get to one for free. Keep walking down the promenade until you think you can walk no more for the sandy one - its very nice. Cons: - Hotel-based holiday: this is mainly because there is little else in the resort. - hotel: walls thin and thin adjoining doors to neighbouring rooms. We stayed next to 3 loud Spanish men who spoke loudly and had their TV on loudly throughout the night. Slightly irritating but we were relieved to discover they had a family with screaming children on the other side of them. So getting a quiet room is a lottery, but most of the guests are not party-goers so its not really a problem. - hotel: the german bar opposite the hotel has loud cabaret until about midnight so if you stay at the front of the hotel overlooking this road it is a pain if you usually tuck up for bed quite early. We however, learnt this when we arrived and stayed out drinking until after this time from thereon! - pool - yes it is freezing but my boyfriend thought I was merely being a coward. I think the water at the sandy beach in Las Americas was warmer. Drinks by the pool were meant to be bought from the bar but the draught sodas all used local water which meant they all tasted like they contained soluble aspirin which was not nice. The lobby has Coke machines though and if you have no guilt then the supermarkets across the way are pretty cheap. - Resort - apart from the banana plantation Playa Paraiso is largely a building site. There are hotels being built all over the place and that means there are construction noises during the day and the landscape is a little unattractive. But the two fiesta hotels are finished (thank goodness) and the lido down the road is a nice touch too. One imagines when the hotels are all finished and there is more to do in the resort this will be a better place to come.
Good Hotel
Fiesta Oasis Hotel Januray 30th - 6th FebruaryThe hotel is very clean, the food is superb, I tried Woodpigeon !! The choice of food would suit everyones taste. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a Ronnie Corbett lookalike!! There is building work going on all around the hotel, but nothing too noisy. In the brochure it does state that it is a hotel holiday, but there are bars and restaraunts local. The Slug and Lettuce I recommend. It would be a year or two before we return to allow for the building work to be completed.
