" Hi, I went to this hotel with my... "

Hi, I went to this hotel with my partner and it was the first time to Egypt. This hotel was definitely not 5* standard as we were led to believe. When we arrived at the main reception we were left to our own devices and hardly anyone at reception could understand our Scottish accent. It took us 30mins to get someone to take us to the Sultan reception and again we were left to carry our heavy suitcases up and down stairs, round the complex to find the room. Our room was really basic and the bathroom wasn't too clean either.

The pool area was really clean and the bar staff were really friendly. There was never a shortage of sunbeds and you were given clean towels everyday. The pool was lovely and always clean. We only went to the beach once because it was far too hot to walk down the hill. It was also clean but really rocky.

The food at the Sultan was basic. They had kebab type chicken and pork which we think a few of the people we met got sick from on the first night. We went to the main restaurant for dinner most nights and this was lovely. On some nights we went to get a pizza which was made from scratch and was honestly the best pizza I've had!

Entertainment was rubbish to be honest but we didn't mind because you could get a taxi to Naama Bay which was great.

Overall the start of the holiday was disappointing but as it went along we enjoyed the lovely weather and atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for family's or young couples as you will get bored like we did.

" Hotel beautiful and clean but it is a... "

Hotel beautiful and clean but it is a resort of several hotels which is not clearly explained in blurb we read. The Sultan is likely to be the smallest hotel which has an excellent pool and is all round clean. Food was basic nothing to shout about.

Down side you have one small bar on an evening where you can get a drink this very nice for a quiet night in but you don’t want that for 7 nights or more it is the same during the day, no life unless you got to the area you have to pay.

We collapsed when we were charged £90.00 for two rounds of drinks for six of us and 3 of the drinks were beer. We should have noticed no other tables had drinks on them.

I have been to Sharm several times and I have always found the waiters and staff really friendly (obviously they want tipping) but at this complex only one waiter and the towel guy ever spoke to you politely or with a smile on their face.

I would not class the hotel as 5 stars and would suggest more like 3 plus. The service was not anywhere near the standard of a five star everything was self service, even tea and coffee in the breakfast room.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone but would recommend Sharm to everyone it is a fab resort with a lot of very good hotels.

" Hi me and my partner have just come... "

Hi me and my partner have just come back from Sharm El Sheik I stayed at the Domina El Sultan in Domina Coral Bay Resort.

First thing that springs to mind is the size of the resort its huge I mean 6 miles wide (The biggest in Europe) an you have to get taff taffs (Buses) everywhere thou the views make up 4 the size as it is on a slight hill which means you get absolutely the best views you could ask for from your balcony of the sea in front of you and the pools as well an out the front door your view is of the mountains.

The food is great but little bit stingy on the size of the glasses for your drinks, A.I. people it is a little confusing where and where you can’t eat but you do get 4 of the 8 or 9 restaurants on the resort. If you stay where I did the pool bar does do food at lunch which means you don’t have to walk down the hill for lunch and the main barman Hady is funniest bloke and really helpful if you tip him.

When it comes to tips they earn 50 Egyptian pounds a week so tip between 30 to 50 Egyptian pounds which is 5 English pounds. It is better to change your money out there as you get a better rate than England. It pays to get a visa out there it costs 12 English.

The trips amazing an little expensive so go to Naama Bay an try get trips there it’s a 3rd the price, I wouldn’t suggest Cairo as it cost £148 English and was a horrible trip, when I went they had a little girl in a cage and they always have their hands out.

My recommendation is to go scuba or snorkelling the corals are amazing. If you eat out in Naama bay it is cheaper than on the resort 3 coarse meal and 1 bottle of wine each sets you back 20 pounds a head,(That’s in Hard Rock Cafe and Cheap).

A taxi will cost 30 to 40 Egyptian pounds from outside the main gates to Naama Bay plus the resort sends a mini bus free of charge there, An always haggle hard to get a good deal the best time to haggle is during the day as its hard to haggle at night.

Overall my trip was amazing an is the best place if you are a young or middle aged couple nice and relaxing and really clean the rooms are big and spacious and has a good cleaner as well.

If you go hope you have a good Holiday as I did.

" I recently went to Sharm el Sheik... "

I recently went to Sharm el Sheik with my boyfriend. It’s great, there are many trips you can go on, e.g. camel riding, quad biking, dinner in the desert under the stars ect.

I found the staff very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

The coral reef is brilliant, you can go snorkelling whenever you want this is well worth doing.

I think this hotel is more for younger couples as it is very big and it can be exhausting but I had a great time.

The rooms are cleaned thoroughly with fresh towels and sheets every day.

Great hotel and beautiful country to visit.

" I have taken the time out to write... "

I have taken the time out to write this review because before we went to the Sultan I read many bad reviews about it; reviews which I feel are completely unjustified.

If you want your hotel to be full of English people, go to Blackpool. In North Africa, yes there are Egyptian people, Russians, Italians, and French.

When we checked in there was a coach party of Russians arriving so the manager personally sat down with us and went through all the info and check in process with us.

We were then taken on a little golf cart thing to our room where someone put our cases on the bed and showed us the mini bar, safe etc. The room was massive, cleaned everyday and had a beautiful pool view. They even came round every so often to check you were ok and gave you chocolates.

The Sultan has its own private pool, own private section of the beach, its own hotel bar, beach bar and pool bar all which you can use exclusively and you never have to queue.

They give you as much bottled water as you want and ice is made from filtered water so you can have lovely cold drinks. You can eat at the pool bar, the sultan restaurant, the wady restaurant on the beach, the coral restaurant (main one for the whole resort) and also the Alhambra Moroccan restaurant.

No, you can’t eat at every single restaurant on the resort but if you stayed in any other hotel would you expect to wander over to the hotel next door and be able to eat there?

The food is not amazing but it is standard all inclusive buffet type food. The Moroccan was a set menu and def the best meal we had.

The disco isn’t included but this costs about £10 to get in and is an open bar. Also its £5 to Naama Bay (reception arrange a taxi for you) and here you can get a huge dinner for about £20 and there are loads of great Bedouin and shisha bars.

On the way in to Naama Bay we saw all the other hotels that we had considered staying at. They are literally one off buildings on a dusty road, miles from the beach. Domina Bay is fantastic because it’s like a small town so you have plenty of space to wander and diff pools, beaches etc. to go to.

The taftafs run every 5 mins and at night they will take you directly to where you want to go.

Included in you AI you get a day’s free snorkelling and also there are loads of things at the hotel like you can do an intro to scuba diving in the pool for free.

The Sultan beach has its own floating swimming pool aside from the main one and the snorkelling off this is fantastic. There are jelly fish but only when the tide is at a certain point and they don’t sting anyway. People that went on this holiday expecting luxury were sadly deluded. If you want luxury, stay at the Hilton down the road.

When you pay £400 for a week all inclusive you get what you pay for.

" My partner and I have just arrived... "

My partner and I have just arrived back from staying at the sultan hotel in the Dominia Coral Bay Resort.

First of all the hotel is not all inclusive, we had to pay a lot more for drinks and snacks around the pool. This was very disappointing and at the end of our 2 weeks we ran up a room bill of over £300.

On the first day we went down to the sultan buffet restaurant for breakfast, we never bothered again! There were flies all over the food, nothing was covered up and birds were flying in and helping themselves, the staff didn’t seem bothered by this.

The first day I became ill, we were both ill on and off for the whole 2 weeks!

We went to Cairo for the day by plane and really enjoyed it.

As a whole I think we would of had a better experience if we had chose a different hotel.

I would never stay at this hotel again! Don’t go to this hotel.

" This is a real anti climax holiday.... "

This is a real anti climax holiday.

The resort and accommodation itself is spotless and very friendly (especially if you are Italian).

However, the package of all inclusive is extremely disappointing and frustrating. It is not all inclusive.

I just hope they get it right eventually as it’s a real shame with its potential to be a real 5* resort.
