Domina Coral Bay Sultan Hotel

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Domina Coral Bay Resort in July this year. Lastminute stated that this is a 5 star hotel. Never stayed in a 5 star and was expecting to be treated like a king. Nothing could of been further than the truth.
As you walk into the reception area at first glance, it does appear to have 5 star qualities. But when we finally got checked in and was given our room key, the helper at reception who was supposed to show us to our rooms took us outside the front of the building, just pointed towards it and said "over there". Now you have to understand that this was a HUGE RESORT and very easy to get lost! It took us at least 10 mins of lugging our heavy suitcases up and down stairs in temperatures of 35c + (7pm local time) before we eventually found our room. After a long journey from the UK, tired and hungry, that isn't the best way to start your holiday.
When I first saw the room it did appear to be clean and decent, although not very big at all. Did have aircon, TV (with only 3 English channels out of 30), a tiny fridge, but other than that housekeeping were very good and kept the room cleanliness at a high standard throughout the holiday. And as advertised by last minute, there was no minibar and our romantic sea view was being partially blocked by another building. So suppose you could call it a semi sea view!
The pool area was very good, always things to do and very friendly poolside staff. Entertainment everyday and waiters coming round offering drinks and food, so no need to get up whilst trying to relax. There were 4 pools and a private beach called salt lake in the entire complex. The hotel provides an internal bus within the complex called a TafTaf which takes you anywhere you want to go within the complex, but these come round every 20 mins so we found ourselves walking to the nearest pool everyday, the others were just too far away and the private beach which we were looking forward to were for prestige customers only.
The food was decent. Breakfast was much better than dinner. Massive selection of food but most of it wasn't what you would call 5 star cuisine.
If this had been advertised as a 3/4 star I probably would of grudgingly accepted it, but this is definitely not the 5 star luxury I was expecting.

Also want to point out that barely any of the reception spoke English so communication was also a problem. Make sure you take your phrase book!
