me and my partner stayed for 2 weeks at maizons and were very dissapointed with the hotel. when we arrived the room we were given was very basic but did not look like it had been cleaned. I requeste to be changed to another room which we were, this was not much better although it was cleaner. The first morning we went to try out the breakfast, not recommended, eggs and curry. fat tonys over the road is much better and very cheap. Anyway after getting over the inital shock of the room we decided to just use the hotel as a base, sleep and shower. We also found that this hotel is used for indians on a 3 day break, we found them and the staff to be very friendly. The hotel is situated about 2km from baga but taxis are always available outside the hotel. be careful as they will try to overcharge you, make sure you agree a price, we found them to be very accommodating. we chose this hotel as we wanted to be out of the way and not part of the hustle is baga etc. we traveled to a lot of different beaches and found that manderem was the nicest, it is about 45mins in a taxi. the beach also has beach huts which we stayed in for 2 nights, a relief to get away from the hotel. This hotel is not a 3 star as stated on the web it is actually more like a 1 star, not recommended for the infirm or elderly, in fact dont go at all.

Do not ever go to this hotel - it is...

Do not ever go to this hotel - it is dirty, disgusting and the so called crystal clear lake is filled with excrement. Nothing is close, you have to get taxis everywhere and the pub in the middle of the lake has been condemned. The kitchen is awful.
The rooms are old and very tatty, there is no fridge. TV and air-con in most rooms you do have to ask but more than once. The pool is green and the building itself is just filthy.
This has ruined my Xmas and New Year.
It says that there is a gym and there isn’t . There isn’t tennis, two fab restaurants, safety boxes – nothing. We had to carry all our belongings with us for 2 weeks.
This shouldn’t even be classed as a 1 star.

My girlfriend and I booked into the Maizons over the Christmas period and were disappointed with the standard of room received.
We were due to stay at the hotel for 7 nights but booked out after only 1 night due to the poor state of the room.
The room we had was very basic, consisting of 2 small single very hard beds. The room itself was very small.
Upon complaining to reception we didn't get anywhere hence checking into another hotel.
I would not recommend staying at the Maizons.

Hi, My experiences with this hotel...

Hi, My experiences with this hotel was very bad, the hotel is not a 3 star rated as mentioned on net. The room condition was very bad and whole hotel was very badly maintained. Few things I would like to mention about the hotel -
(1) The hotel is located far away from main road, far away from Calungate town (4KM).
(2) Baga beach is 2 km away.
(3) The water contains heavy iron, you can feel that while brushing your teeth.
(4) Dining area is very small and I did not like the food (Ordered for Chicken Noodles and finally it was like Mushroom Noodles).
(5) First time in my life I saw a hotel with A/C fitted on door.
I booked through Highland holiday homes and paid all money before hand, was not able to get a good hotel as it was high season at Goa. I felt the cost of the hotel should be Indian Rs.500 per day; do not book the hotel with false impression that this is a 3 star hotel.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff very helpful. Ideal base in Arpora, close to Baga and Anjuna.
Also Ingos and Mackie’s Saturday night bazaar. Fat Tony's bar in the middle of Maizons lake is great, live music beautiful setting, big screen TV. Tony the English manager is a great guy. Home from home with live football and baked potatoes, pool and darts ect and the only bouncy castle in Goa.
Too much to mention, a must, I will be back next year.

This is a beautiful little hotel, and what makes it so special are the staff who work so hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They are friendly, helpful, and really make this a pleasant place to stay.
Although the accommodation is a little basic, the apartments contain a good sized bedroom and living area, as well as a bathroom and dressing room with minibar. The rooms are airy and cool with superb views over the lake and surrounding area.

The hotel has a nice sized pool with bar facilities and seating as well as a beauty and massage parlour. Room service is also available.
We visited over the Christmas period and found that the hotel was not overcrowded, and was mainly occupied by Indian families and a few newlywed Indian couples.
It was a very relaxing place to stay and the staff had made an excellent effort with the Christmas decorations etc.
You will get used to the cuisine, especially if it is your first visit. Masala omelettes were not something I was used to eating for breakfast! A range of food and drinks are available to order throughout the day, and both are very cheap.
Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for somewhere peaceful, tranquil and close to local amenities to stay. It offers great value for money, and the staff are excellent. It’s close to three beaches and a short taxi ride will take you to most other places.
I will definitely be going back. Missing it already!
