Woodlands Hotel

Have known of the Woodlands for 40-odd years but never before stayed (I lived in the area as a child). Arranged a family birthday party there last year and the food and service could not be faulted. So when I had the opportunity of staying on business recently, I jumped at the chance. The rooms were very well appointed, the bar staff and reception staff very friendly and knowledgeable and the breakfasts enough to satisfy even the biggest of "fat boys". I'd recommend it to anyone.

We spent our 34th wedding anniversary weekend at the hotel. The hotel has good and ample parking and is situated in a pleasant and quiet part of Broughty Ferry about 10 minutes drive from the centre of Dundee. The main bus route is about 5 minutes walk. The hotel is comfortable but we thought the bedroom was on the small side (only a double bed and we are used to a king size). The room though was clean and quiet. Went for a wedding party, stayed a second night it was that good. Have to drive to go anywhere as outside of the main area of Dundee but it was extremely nice. Food was beautiful and reasonably priced, leisure pool very nice. Old style pub as well. Its a old hotel so watch out for the stairs as there can be loads if on a high floor! Book through main website and stay two nights cos the deals are fantasitic ( second night was £20 extra for double with breakfast ) Historical sites are within twenty minutes and worth seeing.
