Queens Hotel

From the outside the Queen's Hotel looked quite impressive, but things went downhill fast on entering the hotel.
The overall impression was of a hotel that was seedy, run down and in need of a full makeover.
We were shown to our room, a cramped, gloomy, dull space with horrible old wallpaper, lit by a single low wattage light in the middle of the room. I immediately felt depressed!
After a short time my wife and I decided that at £80 per night we were not going to accept this and requested a better room.
To their credit the staff tried to help and we were given another much larger room and a bottle of wine.
The room overlooked the street outside but the single glazing let in draughts and the constant noise of traffic and late evening city revellers.
We cut short our stay and found a much better hotel in Dundee at a much lower price.
