Skene House Holburn Hotel

We booked the Skene House Holburn through Laterooms.com for £69 per night, with only 3 days notice, even though it was a holiday weekend. From the moment we arrived, we were looked after in a very friendly and professional manner, especially by Carly on reception and Balu, who even posted on two books we left behind! I found this hotel on Laterooms. There was a special deal on the Executive suite for a Saturday but i needed to stay for two nights and after speaking directly to the hotel and quoting the Laterooms price i got both nights for £70 per night (i later found out that this room is actually priced at £198 per night). To say room is misleading. I stayed at Skene house for four nights in a superior suite. I had been hoping for a luxurious apartment but instead the apartment was disappointing and crushingly expensive. I stayed in a superior suite and I am perplexed at the other reviews. The staff are lovely but this is a glorified bed and breakfast and for £181 per night I could have stayed in a luxury room at the nearby Malmaison. Stayed in many hotels,both here and abroad. This is by FAR the best! Home from home.....except for the daily maid service!!!! Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Staff were SO helpful and the general standars of the suite were very very high. If at all possible I will not book anywhere else in front of Skene House Holburn. 1st class!!! Ceud Mile Taing.

We were delighted with our stay at Skene House Apartments. The suite was spacious and clean. The kitchen had every appliance one could need. Parking was easy and it is well situated for the town centre. The rate that we got was excellent value.

Skene House Holburn was the highlight of my trip to the UK. It is comprised of what appear to be several townhomes (Edwardian?). My suite was on the 4th floor and consisted of a bedroom, sitting room (with brand new 16:9 TV), kitchen, & bath. Totally sweet suite; I was sorry that I hadn't check in until 8pm because I would have loved to have just lounged around the unit! What a surprise! superb rooms with high standard of decor and very clean. Tons of space, access by stair to a front and back door to the street or car park, with your own name on the door bell panel! Staff so polite. Just like staying in your own town house. Reasonable price given the facillities especially if you are a family or sharing.

Stayed here for 3 months for business. It was a fantastic home away from home. Friendly staff, very clean, central location and has everything you could ask for.

If you want a home from home then this is it. I stayed here with my mother who was visiting from Australia. She tends to stay at the Skene House establishments because it IS more like a home from home than staying in a hotel. We stayed in Suite six.
