Great Accomodation;Location
We stayed two nights during a golf trip to play Royal Aberdeen. Four of us stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Very clean, good location enough room to spread out. A nice change after being in hotel rooms for several nights. Convenient to many restaraunts and pubs. Only about 10 minutes to Royal Aberdeen. Very fair price. Highly recommend!
Great Place To Stay
I booked 2 suites here recently for family to stay in while attending my sons graduation. I would recommend to anyone. We requested suites on 1st floor due to no lift in our block which we received. We also had one upgraded from a 2-bed to a 3-bed- perfect as 2 bathrooms. Everything spotless. Plenty of breakfast supplies . Left in a bit of a hurry for graduation- kitchen tidied- dishwasher loaded & dishes washed when we returned. Reception staff very helpful & pleasant.
Proper home from home
As a frequent visitor to Aberdeen (mostly on business) I have stayed in many hotels in the city. The Skene Rosemount is by far the best that I have had the pleasure of residing in. The staff from cleaners, porters right through to the manageress are all friendly and happy to help you. The suites in the church complex are of exceptional quality and are finished to a very high standard. I have badgered my employer into making a block booking for myself and my colleagues, the competitive pricing structure finally swung it in my favour. The suites on offer make working away from home that bit easier to bare.
very nice
A self-catering suite rather than a hotel; but there is a breakfast room which serves very nice croissants! Excellent location - close to the shopping area. suites are very nice - especially the new ones (in the converted church)
Slightly disappointing
I booked my stay at this hotel solely because of the glowing reviews on this site. But upon arrival I must admit that I was slightly disappointed with my suite. Here are the good points: Check-in process was excellent. I arrived early just before noon and was still able to check-in. The hotel was situated close to the city centre and the shopping area was only a 5 minute walk. Here are the bad points: The kitchen was not fully equiped as promised - no microwave, the grill didn't work and a pair of oven gloves would have been handy! The bath had mould all around the sealant and the bathroom was tiny. The bed was very uncomfortable and needed replacing. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would even make a return visit but for anyone planning to try the Skene Rosemount, well please don't expect the type of 3 star luxury one would expect from a traditional hotel. This hotel suite complex is fine for a couple of days stay, but with the current price structuring it would make far more sense to hire a self-catering flat/apartment for the week.
Great concept
Great concept. For £95 a night, somewhere that feels a bit more like home but at close-to-hotel prices and with daily cleans. We had a one-bed suite with lounge and kitchen. The staff couldn't have been nicer; only problem was that we were given a smoking suite when non-smoking had been requested. One day all hotels will get civilised and just ban smoking outright in all their rooms. This problem alone might stop me going back unless I could be assured I'd get non-smoking next time. Bedroom was fine, place was pretty quiet even early on which is a must when one of the party is only 9, amenities within walking distance. Overall recommended with just that one caveat.
Ouch, my back
Have stayed here on half dozen occassions and have no problem recommending Skene House. Nice people; well furnished rooms, but dire beds - if you've a bad back look elsewhere. Location is great for the City. Off street parking, but watch the exit ramp - it destroyed the spoiler on my car. The Masada Bar across the street is an acquired taste, but well worth a visit.
so much room
Have stayed here 3 times this summer and can't fault it.The suites range from 1 to 3 bedrooms, and all have just been refurbished with lovely fully equipped kitchens, excellent( if a little small) bathrooms and comfortable sitting/ dining rooms. It was lovely to have the fridge restocked with milk and fruit juice every day, and plenty of bread cereals tea and coffee too. Rosemount is within easy reach of the main shops and there are plenty of super restaurant within walking distance too if you didn't fancy cooking in the evening It was lovely to have so much room to spread out after a hard day's sight-seeing and shopping- so much better than an ordinary hotel at the same price- highly recommended
Different- a real home from home!
Stayed two nights here in May 2004 and highly recommend it. We had a one bedroom suite for 65 pounds and got a great living room with satellite TV, bedroom, large bathroom and little kitchen. Comfortable and spotlessly clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and especially relaxing in the large comfortable living room. Decor not to everyones taste but not too bad. Cereals, juice and bread left in your kitchen every morning and a very helpful reception. Will be visiting again!
