Me and my partner have just returned from our stay at the Viva Blue Hotel in Majorca. We absolutely loved this hotel all the service and staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are very spacious and are cleaned almost every day to a high standard.
The pools (3 in total) at the hotel are very clean also the grounds surrounding this area are immaculate. The hotel has a supermarket on site but is a bit more expensive then those just outside the hotel.
We only ate in the hotel once and to be honest wasn’t very impressed, but we did find a little restaurant right outside the hotel (Ole Pizzeria) and the food was 5* quality we ate there most nights and the staff are excellent. But there are a selection of other restaurants to eat at along the strip.
Entertainment at the hotel was good most nights (Chicago and Grease), we also found a British pub called The Swan (about a 10/15 minute walk) which had great entertainment could have a good laugh here. Pirate show in Magalluf is a MUST SEE absolutely amazing night; you can book this with your rep.
Alcudia is not far from Playa de Muro and this is a more lively resort about a 10-minute if that taxi ride costing about 6 euros. We only went into Alcudia twice as we thought Playa de Muro had everything we wanted. If you like history and scenery then visit the old town some very beautiful sights (Market is here also on a Sunday).
Would recommend this hotel to anybody and we will be returning here next year.

Stayed for 10 days in May 2007. Everything about the apartments, grounds and facilities was excellent. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well maintained and staff, on the whole were very helpful.
On site supermarket very good although a little dearer than those on the main road outside the hotel.
Viva Blue is located just off the main road from Alcudia to Ca'n Picafort (approx 3 miles from Port Alcudia). There is no village or focal point to Playa Muro, it seems to be one conurbation that runs the length of the main road.
All bars, shops and restaurants are along this main road. We found the Pizzeria Ole and Topo Gigio to be very good but the best restaurants are to be found in the walled old town of Alcudia on top of the hill (approx 4 miles away)
Ideally use a hire car or taxi; the public transport is often very busy. In the old town you will find much more traditional Spanish restaurants (La Placa, Sa Caleta and La Taverna) serving excellent food.
The beach in Playa Muro is just over the main road from the hotel (plenty of crossing points available). The beach is very clean, clear blue water and slopes very gently and is ideal for the little ones.
Day time activities lead by the entertainment team was plentiful for both adults and children while the evening entertainment at the hotel varied from very good (ABBA show, Chicago tribute) to awful (Cinderella).
Plenty of sun beds and fixed parasols available around the pool.
In summary a very good holiday, in excellent establishment and thoroughly recommended.

This resort really does live up to its 4 star rating!
These apartments are spotlessly clean, and the grounds and swimming pool area are immaculate. My one niggle - no kettle supplied, only a coffee maker!
There are enough sunbeds to go around, even when the properties are full and reserving sunbeds is not permitted.
The location is ideal just across the main road from the beach, although you are some distance away from Alcudia town, and public transport is extremely busy.
The animation team are very hardworking, and I would recommend attending a Gala evening should you get the chance, as they represent excellent value for money, and the entertainment is of a very good standard.
Overall excellent holiday was enjoyed, however proximity to the Nature Reserve means the insects are abundant!

We have just returned from our holiday in Majorca and having read everyone else’s reviews I thought I would write one in return.
We found the Viva Blue Apartments nice, very clean, a little basic for a 4 *, but contains everything needed for an enjoyable self catering holiday (except a kettle), walls are very thin and I have to say that I did not have one good nights sleep at all as I found it difficult to sleep through next doors snoring…
We were not impressed with having to wait 2 hours for a room to be made up on arrival, but it gave us a chance to have a look around and to sample the food at the pool side snack bar. This did a range of pizza’s, toasties and baguettes and was very nice.
The pool areas were nice, very clean and I liked the fact that you got cushions for the loungers. We had no problems getting loungers even at 11am probably because of the time of year as I can see that getting very busy at peak times.
We did not eat at the hotel or sample any of the entertainment, so I cannot comment on that. We ventured out of the hotel complex at night for food and went through the Muro strip and never had a bad meal. Two of the best places we found was the pizzeria Ola right next to the hotel, it did beautiful pork and steak fillets with pepper sauces which were lovely (we went back 3 times), and an Indian called New Deli 2, if you turn right at the pizzeria above instead of left down the main strip. The Indian was better than any that we have had at home.
Not much entertainment but restaurant Oasis on the main strip has live bands on, Elvis impersonators, ABBA tributes which had everyone up out of their seats dancing. Over the road from that a cocktail bar which did lovely cocktails in some very unusual glasses and containers, the best we saw being a volcano!
The beach was lovely, quite busy and plenty of snack bars and drinks place along it. The road to cross is not really that busy and there are places with crossings you can use.
There is a small train that runs through Muro and to a few other resorts for only 2.5 euros each, we walked up to the next resort which had a few more shops, bars and restaurants, and Brits for that matter and then got the train back, which stopped right outside out hotel…
All in all a nice holiday, hotel very clean, rooms not bad and we had a nice time.

Viva blue apart hotel was a lovely place to visit we have been there twice and they are first class lovely and clean, beautiful swimming pools. JP's bar in the town is a most enjoyable evening with lovely hosts that make you very welcome.
Enjoyed our stay very much well worth recommending. Buses were very busy but plenty of them. Beaches were clean and just a short walk from apartments. Didn’t have to fight for a sun bed, plenty to go round. Rooms cleaned every day apart from Thursday and Sunday.

Fantastic Hotel, very clean and situated in a great location just across the road from a lovely beach. There are plenty of restaurants nearby which are very nice but we found the best food was in the buffet restaurant at the hotel(fantastic). Not many British at the hotel, there was a nice mix of many different nationalities which was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the entertainment great for adults and children
