After a year of stress with job changes, credit crunching and relocating from london to south wales I needed a bloody good rest.My wife and I decided to take a break, somewhere not to loud and busy, just somewhere to put our feet up,turn off the dreaded mobile phone and not have to watch jordan and peter andre wash their dirty laundry in public.I had been to rhodes before albeit twenty five years ago when I was a boogying teenager, but I remember the south of the island being quieter. So south rhodes it was,I booked the kamari beach hotel after reading about its quiet location and being right on the beach. When arriving the taxi drove down onto the beach straight up to the hotel, the bright and spacious reception was manned by a very helpful english speaking young man,Who showed me to my room. The room was typical greek, two single beds, table and chairs, shower room.etc,Then out to the balcony for the sea view,Amazing unspoilt views of beautiful coast line, the balcony was bigger than the apartment itself.I could have invited twenty people up for a party..Later back down in the bar,Manoli the barman, explained in again very good english, the area, where things are, what to do locally. Then george the owner came out of his office and to my amazement spoke canadian/greek,no wonder everyone spoke good english. The rooms where very clean and towels were changed daily, the staff very friendly, and the food was hot and plentiful, with lots of english options. Will definately go back for the peace and quiet..

I was on holiday at this hotel with my 23 year old son from 7th to 14th July. The accommodation is adequate for 3* in Greece but very basic.
You are charged 7.50 euros per day for Air Con. The room was cleaned every day and we did get fresh towels. The hotel staff were at best rude and very unhelpful.
The food was basic and not very much choice. Breakfast is just continental, very basic. Get to the restaurant early as they run out of food and don’t replenish. The open air restaurant was not open.
No entertainment in the hotel. The hotel is remote and very quiet. We were the only British guests.
The local bus service is one bus an hour (during the day) and the last bus anywhere is at 8.15. They do not always turn up; we waited over 2 hours for bus's on several occasions. It was not feasible to walk into Lardos as the road is not suitable, lighting, temperature etc. The walk would take approx 1 hour. You can hire a car but this is also expensive.
Pefkos is the next town with a nice beach. We got the bus in every day. To get back on the bus was extremely difficult as they are only one an hour and always full to capacity. Taxis from the hotel will cost approx 15 euro to pefkos and 8 euros back. We had problems getting taxis to bring us back to the hotel as they don’t want the fare one way.
My son wanted a couple of nights out in Lindos and PefKos but found it very difficult to get back to the hotel at night.
The bar in the hotel is expensive as is the supermarket. Be prepared for the remote location and lack of transport plus no choice.

We are just back from 2 weeks at the Kamari Beach Hotel. This is a great place to stay if you want rest and relaxation away from the crowds - which we did! No discos or bars with loud music to keep you awake all night - hurrah! The room was excellent and cleaned every day, including fresh towels each day. The balcony was really big and faced the sea so we fell asleep to the sound of lapping waves each night. We enjoyed the selection of different meals in the evening and breakfast which is a mixture of European and Greek food - delicious! If you like sailing or watersports there is a school just along the beach. My husband passed his Basic International Catamaran License at this school so we went out on a small catamaran most days.
The staff were all very friendly and were exceptionally kind when my husband was taken ill and had to go in to hospital. I cannot sing the praises of this hotel loudly enough!
