Travelodge Hotel Northop Hall

Worst hotel experience. Welcomed with a strong smell of bleach. The poor receptionnist was also the cleaner/maid! Go to the shop early if you've forgotten anything or need food and drink as it closes about 10pm. Literally in the middle of nowhere so you're a bit stuck unless you drive.

We stopped off in Chester en route from scotland to holyhead, went to several hotels and they were all fully booked. An extremely helpful receptionist in another hotel rang lots of hotels and we eventually got this one.We entered the post code on sat nav and it brought us to the service area on the other side of the carriageway. This is a Travelodge like all others...standard room, clean and straightforward, so no issues there. The problem is security. This is a remote location on the main A55 west of Chester. The notice in the car park says lock your car and take all your belongings in to your room, which we did. This didn't stop car thieves piercing the door and releasing the door lock to check out our car - they found nothing but caused about £500 damage. There is no CCTV on this site and lighting is poor.
