Just got back from Sol Alcudia Center. Was a bit worried about some of the reveiws i read before we went. But need'nt have worried. Hotel was good, everything clean and had all you needed. Only complaint was the sunbed scramble on a morning, but headed for the beach some days. The beach was lovely and clean. Even though hotel was in the centre it was quiet on a night, in room near bars but still did not hear much, didnt even hear the leaf blower!! Would recommend this hotel and would definatly return.

This was my first holiday abroad with my 8yr old son, a friend and her two children aged 7 and 13yrs. We booked three days prior to the holiday via teletext. I was very pleasantly suprised at the standard of the accommadation, the friendly, helpful staff and the central location of the hotel, which allowed good access to the beach, restuarants and entertainment. We were situated in a 1st floor apt on the street side of the hotel. I agree with other comments, there were varying levels of noise late into the night/early morning caused by late night revellers, street cleaners and general maintance workers. This did not spoil our holiday as we can sleep through anything! but it is something to consider and I would try to book a room on the other side of the hotel next time. My son enjoyed the kids club, the staff were friendly and he made loads of friends. We did not use the pool loungers as they were always fully occupied by the time we came down (about 10am) but it wasn't a problem for us as we were permenantly on the beach. Because our holiday was on a tight budget we did not do any excursions but there was alot of information available about trips/entertainment for all ages but make sure you bring alot of money because they weren't cheap!
All in all we had a fabulous holiday and yes we are going back next year, but I might try booking the flights and hotel independantly as I don't feel I gained any beenfit from the Thomas Cook reps.

Just returned from a weeks holiday, was a bit worried after reading some reviews, But had a great time. Apartment was spotless staff were friendly pool was very clean loads of places to eat. Went to Hydra-Park not the biggest of water parks but a great fun day out, don't eat in there very expensive you can get you hand stamped and go out would recommed Brittania over the road great food and lots of it. Visit Bellvue for go-karting my husband and son loved it. We had some lovely reps. The only annoying thing was that the people outside the restaurants tauting for business you get one outside them all. It was noisy at night but not bad enough not to be able to sleep. Do not expect to get a sunbed round the pool unless your prepared to queue for at least 45mins when they unlock them at about 8.45 your better off going down to the lovely beach were you can get a sunbed. The only thing that spoiled our holiday was the Thomas Cook Visa Passport which was supposed to be simple to use, we were overcharged everyday which left us short of money for the last 2 days so if your using a Telebanco ATM read very carefully before you withdraw your cash. Looking forward to going back next year but taking cash.

Returned to this hotel having had a great time same month last year with family (wife and 2 sons aged 7 and 5).
Absolutely superb again for a 3* status. Accomodation very clean, entertainment kept kids and me occupied during the day. This accomodation is the perfect base for enjoying pool or beach by day, and family meals out at night (all costs catered for). Never had a problem getting a sunbed provided I was down just before 9am when they were unlocked. Best meal out for us was to walk along the beach towards the Port (half hour)to 4 restaurants together on the sand. We sat out a few times here on table on the sand, kids had their meals as we had starters, we had our main course and a bottle of wine watching the sun go down whilst kids ran around on the very safe beach ( I recommend the sea bass at Pippen`s).
A few minor issues that you should be aware of - Majorca has suddenly become much more expensive over the last year. Speaking to people over there and reading local papers, this seems to be a combination of £ to euro rate and worldwide fuel costs upping the cost of just about everything. It is apparently the same across Spain but from personal experience, everything is between 25% and 40% more (in £s) than last year, so if you are self catering, prepare to need a fair bit of spending money.
From our room on the 1st floor, facing out, the leafblower was very noisy 7am every morning but we were far enough away from the bars to not hear any noise from them through the night.
First time ever on holiday that we needed to see a Dr. Drs office was within the Hotel and exceptionally good and fast service.
Frustrating service at Palma airport where reps misdirected us 3 times so couldn`t find coach. We weren`t the only ones and this caused a bit of frustration (and a half hour wait) as one family lost an elderly relative.
Great flight times and meals on plane. No delays. Weather suprb throughout. 14 days of varied eatings with no dodgy tummies for any of the family.
We love everything about Alcudia and keep returning to the resort, this was our second visit to this Hotel and it was outstanding once again. For a 3* hotel, I fully recommend Alcudia and this hotel as a base to explore it.

Just got back off holiday at Sol alcudia Centre, great hotel, staff friendly and helpful, however there are a few points to be very aware of.The noise from some bars was horrendous and you will be awake most of the night, especially Sabor Latino and Bells Disco which start kicking out around 3 oclock til 5/6 oclock,Sabor latino is an outdoor terrace bar and is the start of all the noise with many locals causing this racket, this would not be as big an issue but for the sunbed scramble in the morning at 9 oclock.the pool area is chained off until this time and once its removed the race is on,only to find the sunbeds chained up.A couple of people who strolled down at about 10.30 to 11 oclock expecting beds to be available to them[which are entitled to do so]find all loungers gone and decide to kick up a fuss by having a word with pool lifeguard who,s job it is to remove towels off beds that have been reserved for longer than 45 mins unattended and free the beds up again. However this is not the case as he,s not interested.People causing a fuss then pick which ever beds they like to use and remove towels themselves which may have only just been left for10/15 mins yet beds which have been left for 1 to 2 hours are not to thier liking so do not remove towels off them. This caused much ill feeling around pool area and people not affected found it amusing.i must point out that this did not affect me or my family at any time and was an observer rather than victim. You will also encounter the petrol blower man in morning around 6 to 7 oclock shifting leaves/debris off pavements for the ensuing roadsweeper to capture.[FULL THROTTLE].Apart from this we had a enjoyable holiday ,and would recommend a restaurant in the port not far from Alcudiamar Botel called SAN MARCO,excellent food and very reasonable in price,if you eat at OLA;s across the road from hotel avoid the mixed grill as its meat flattened out and made to look more when in fact its very poor indeed and over priced.

The apartments were ok.very clean but the rooms are quite old.not good for trying to get to sleep at night as there is a lot of noise from bars and people all during the night.woke a few times about 4 and 5 with people shouting.the pool is not good for people who cant swim as it is 1.55 metres and the lifeguard couldnt care less.

Found rooms and areas generally well cleaned and maintained.
Beds are basic, one with broken spring.
Placed in room to streetside - slept very little due to two main factors.
Late night revellers tend to pass by the front of the building and create a lot of noise up until 4 am.So you think you can catch some sleep from 4am to 8/9am?
Forget about it .Between 6-7am a man with an extremely noisy petrol driven blower passes directly outside to ensure that you cannot sleep.
These rooms are probably best suited to people who can operate on an abnormal sleep system.
Be also aware that your chance of getting a sunbed at the pool is unlikely unless you queue from 8.30.
Staff are friendly and helpful.Except for the double noise factor this complex is well located.
If you plan to stay here and go to the nearby beach thereby sunbed availability not being a problem ,ensure that your accommodation is on the poolside of the building and not the streetside.

Arrived at Palma airport after 3 hour delay in Birmingham, no reps to meet us, so spent 15 mins trying to find someone to help. All reps were together at bottom end, talking and laughing, I suggested they may want send someone to he other end, which they did.
Got to hotel, room was horrible, not what we booked. It was dirty, bed covers had cigarette burns, and were like thin denim, and felt dirty, mattresses were thin and had burns and looked dirty, like they had been there years, it was studio apartment, we were expecting a twin beded room beds were glorified sofas. Complained immediately, but was told as late, rep would come and see us next morning, they didnt. I went to them and found 6 other families complaining for similar reasons. Was told by rep couldnt be moved as no where to put us, or would have to pay for upgrade, would have to pay for new flights if wanted to return home. Rep also told us that Thomas Cook paid for a job lot of rooms at discounted prices, and they couldnt do anything about it now. I told them it had been booked over 12 months ago, to be sure of good rooms, was told they get what is available and are only allocated 2 weeks prior. Also noise at Cheers bar was exceptionally loud, which I dont mind normally, til 5 in the morning. Eventually, rep said would try and get us another room, but would be at larger hotel near top of resort. As I had already wasted 2 days, didnt go, did not want to be that far out of town. All in all Thomas Cook has been the worst organisation for service in all the years we have travelled, they need to retrain their resort reps to at least try and pretend they care!! Thet rep told one man in his fifties, that she didnt consider the noise from the Cheers bar unacceptable!!! Will never travel with them again.

This was me and my girlfreinds first time in Mallorca and the hotel was great although we didnt spend much time there as on self catering basis, plenty of places to eat and things to do for all ages. we'd recommend the excursions specially PIRATES! ARHH!
The room itself was well equipt and spacious and was just what we needed, only problem was the cooker it took ages to heat up a pack of pasta which made it hard to make meals. Maids were very quick and efficient, we agree with the 6.30 wake up call from Mr Leaf Blower outside the hotel. Staff very helpful when needed to be.
Overall enjoyed our 7 night stay and deffinatly would come back again!

The Sol Alcudia Centre is situated around 200meters from the long clean white sands of Alcudia beach, this can not been seen from the hotel unless you have a top floor room. The area can be noisey at night as rite round the hotel are bars and lots of places to eat but be warned you will find no local food in this area its chips with everything!
The Hotel itself had friendly staff and was well cleaned and everyday had fresh towels, however the room was very dated and bathroom in need of updateing. The small kitchen area was well equiped with pots and pans etc, this you may find useful as the local food is around the same price as the UK . You will find a handy supermarket joining the hotel with good prices!
This hotel is great on a budget and is well sited for the beach and getting to the Old town of Alcudia which is walkable, if thinking of going to other areas a bus(which always seems full) or car is required!
Enjoy......

the hotel was great, freindly and helpfuly staff. very clean and spacious rooms. there was some noise in the evening with being in the resort centre from local restaurants and bars but it is acceptable. i found the supermarket in the hotel very convenient but quite expensive for certain items,ie jar of nescafe was 16 euros so if you like coffee bring your own jar. the entertainment was average but it was watchable and at times very enjoyable. we travelled with a 5 month old baby so spent a bit more time in the apartment than most would, there is a television in the room that has a few british channels inc bbc1 and itv1 which was a bonus for us. the hotel is ideal for families with children. local restaurants are good, i recommend the london pub across the road for breakfast and my most enjoyable meal was "lunas grill" which was about 400m from hotel.

Have just returned from a week at the Alcudia Centre and I cannot find a negative thing to say about it. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean with a frequent change of bedding and towels, I really enjoyed my holiday there.
It was close to the beach, its surrounded by plenty of shops and places to eat and drink, it is somewhere I will definitely be returning too

The only reason I haven’t given this hotel a 9 or 10 is because of the hoover-man in the morning who cleaned the streets between 6am and 7am. If like us you are in room number 348 or close, you will be rudely awoken at these times every day and believe me its loud, it sounds like a moped on its highest revs constantly! (BEWARE).
Now on a more positive note the hotel itself was excellent. The rooms cleaned every other day and they even got the squeegees out for the windows. The balcony was huge, great for having a drink at night and where our room was it really caught the late afternoon sun.
The corridors were pretty dark because of the energy saving bulbs they have everywhere but there were two lifts that were in good working order. Reception was pretty good, the staff friendly and helpful with a couple of phones and four internet computers there as well.
The shop was well stacked with all the essentials, I would recommend getting all the basics here as the local supermarkets ripped you off.
The pool was lovely, if not very cold and this was not aided by the four days of torrential rain that we had whilst there.
The location of the hotel was excellent and and very close to the lovely beach. All the family bars are very close by, like Cheers, which I would recommend to any parent for a good night out for all the family.
