The Stradey Park Hotel

We stayed at the Stradey in June 07 for the Drum n Bass weekend . The hotel has been refurbished in many areas. Our room was very nice with a great view to the front , the windows might be a bit dangerous for kiids as they open at knee height 2 floors up! The breakfast is really good with a wide selection and friendly staff. The staff are not the best trained for service but they do try personally. Attended a function at this hotel - Welsh W.I .40th anniversary on 3/3/07. Food was cold, small portions, Lamb was full of gristle salmon thin and tasteless. no custard with sweet and had the cheek to charge £20 for this set meal. Accomodation and public rooms were acceptable and clean But food was terrible

We stayed at the Stradey Park over Christmas 2006 Hotel has recently been re-furbished in the public areas and rooms and it looked fresh & modern - do beware of the old lift though it is pokey and has a very impatient door! Serious lack of Christmas decorations apparent all around the Hotel which was a shame. me and my partner stayed overnight in this hotel as we were with a wedding party. Its a comfy stay even though the double beds are really two singles pushed together, nice and clean and fully stocked with fan, bottled water, and the usual. we think it is a little overpriced even with our 10% wedding party discount but nothing to complain about but maybe if one night was a bit easier on the pockets as you dont get that much for your stay. breakfast was lovely nice choice of food but had to ask for iced water. wedding was lovely... more

Used this hotel as a base for a weekends Racing at Pembrey. The circuit was only 15 minutes away and the hotel provided a ideal location. Relaxing bar and the excellent restaurant.

We stayed here again for the second year, and again the hotel experience was good. We were allocated a quiet room, which was as expected with tea/coffee and the usual goodies of bathroom bits and hair dryer. Although there were weddings on both days/evenings we were not disturbed that much by other guests. The bar area was busy but to br expected. The best reason to stay here is the superb food in the Restaurant - both nights we eat exceptional food. Recommended - it's not cheap but it is worth it.

This was our 2nd stay at the hotel with the kids. From the relaxed friendly reception to the friendly check-out, our 2 nights were superb. We were attending a wedding on the Saturday in the actual hotel itself. The wedding was fantastic, the wedding co-ordinator Damien was absolutely superb. Our son has a nut allergy, and Damien went out of his way to get him some nut free chocolate on the Saturday (from a local shop), and melted it down for him, so that it came at the same time as the chocolate fountain everyone else was having for... more

Stayed in this hotel for one night 19th Feb,2005. My wife's birthday. Hotel Ok, but felt the kitchen department was somewhat lacking. Her birthday meal started with totally stale rolls. Tasteless complimentary whatever. They looked like scotch eggs. Steak was not tasty, but that may not be chef's fault. Poached pears a load of tasteless water. Breakfast bread stale. We are getting married in March 2004 and trying to find a suitable place for ceremony,breakfast and evening party was much harder than we thought, so many of the venues in the area didnt feel exactly right. After meeting with the Stradey Parks wedding co-ordinator Mark, and being shown around we fell in love with the place. Each part of the day is being held in a different part of the hotel.
