Walking in to reception on arrival I thought the place was ok. The staff seemed pleasant enough. We were able to check in straight away, no hassles. Once we got into our room is where it all started going downhill. There was what I could only assume was mould on the walls... more

Rooms and location are nice. Hotel has a spa with gym, Jacuzzi, sauna and swimming pool. Problem is we turned up for a weekend but no massage or facials treatments were available as we did not book in advance apparently. Could use the other facilities but on the Sunday... more

Good Value for Money

We stayed at this hotel as part of a hen weekend ‘all in’ package in August 2005. The rooms were of a nice size and clean The leisure facilities were ample and once again, clean and looked after. The breakfast was good value with plenty to choose from. Would highly recommend it though it is a bit far out and not what you would call a ‘city center’ hotel.

Having seen reviews that suggested the food was not up to scratch I booked this hotel for myself and a colleague for business in Cardiff, over Friday 24th - Sun 26th March 2006. First impressions upon entering very nice, lounge furniture a bit worn but the lobby was clean and tidy, the reception staff very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us with directions around various parts of Cardiff. Disappointing

As a converted Moat House, I expected good things from this hotel, especially with a room rate of close to £150. In fact the room was dingy and poorly decorated, badly in need of renovation and the walls were thin enough that we was woken at various intervals through the night and in the early morning by loud neighbours returning from a night out and getting up for breakfast. Great stay

I stayed here about 3 years ago. I had my christmas party here and decided to stay the night. Our room was clean and spacious. I did not check out the other facilities but understand they have a gym and pool here. Cons: Breakfast. We had it delivered to our room and it was cold, hard and basically inedible.
Great Place

This place is a little out of town, but is quiet and clean. The rooms were clean, and facilities very up to date. Full English breakfast in the morning was wonderful. The staff at the hotel, and in the pub, made us all feel right at home.

I just returned from a tour of Britain with a major company and this hotel was listed as a 3 star. My first indication that this was not a pleasant place should have been the dead plants hanging over the entrance! It's located to far outside the city and there is nothing to see in the area. The food was mediocre at best. We were to have abuffet dinner, however when I went to go back was told only one turn at the buffet. The room was clean but shabby at best. Okay as a place to sleep, however I would not stay here again....

Very basic hotel - completely overpriced . Mold in bathrooms . Staff indifferent . The food at the hotel is diabolical - the evening meal was pale, tasteless and greasy and I wouldnt have served my dog with the breakfast !! There are so many nicer , more centrally located hotels to stay in in cardiff - avoid this one .
Excellent value week-end offer

Extremely good value two night promotional stay: £100 for 2 people for 2 nights including bed and breakfast + evening meal on first night. All of the hotel's staff were both friendly and efficient. Our en-suite room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The buffet English breakfast and 3-course buffet dinners were excellent. Very good hotel facilities including indoor pool and gym. Free morning newspaper a nice gesture.

Situated northeast of the city centre. This place was below average. Mold in the bathroom, no mini-bar and no latch on the room door, but fairly large for western europe. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately this hotel is an £8-10 cab ride from downtown Cardiff. If you are looking for a "no frills"/no extras sort of place to stay in Cardiff, then this is the place for you. Equivelant to a Travelodge in the U.S.
