Hotel Piscis

We went there on the 4th October 2011. My husband and I who are in our late 30's and our 4 yrs old son. The reception staff are very miserable. The room was spacious and very clean. The pool area is clean but very small. Sun beds are very close to the pool, so you can expect to get splashed. The hotel can be very noisy. At times we could clearly here the other guests. There is also an Irish bar and a British pub along side the hotel and if you have a room facing them you are guarenteed to hear it. The food in the hotel is fantastic. We couldnt fault it. My son is a fussy eater but still managed to eat something everyday. We found the drinks tasted fine, the downside was that they were served in plastic cups. Ok by the pool, but not in the eve when you want a nice pint and its served in a half pint plastic cup. The entertainment in the hotel is a total washout. Dont book for the entertainment. There wasnt any daytime activities either. The childrens play area is one climbing frame, not that great. It didnt bother us as we were happy to do our own thing. The hotel is close to the shops and beach and about a 15 minute stroll from the old town. All in all its not a bad place if you go there just dont expect 5 star treatment.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Hotel Piscis. After reading the reviews I was not quite sure what to expect. The best thing about the hotel was the bedroom and the location. I am quite easy going when it comes to food but even I struggled to enjoy it after a few days and the waiters were so rude, My sister was made to get up during breakfast so the waiter could get past with his trolley this was after already bashing into her leg without as much as a sorry. Do not book the hotel if you are expecting evening entertainment as unless you enjoy a quiz every night there is not a lot else, also the entertainment area really is not comfortable or even suitable due to the pillers holding up the ceiling. The hotel is in a ideal location, it is close to the beach, shops to which there are plenty of, open until about 10.30 every evening, and the bus stop. There is a great Irish bar next to the hotel but drinks are expensive although large measures. There was one question we asked before we went to which the holiday company could not answer, we wanted to know if there was a beach towel service but there is not so either pack them or buy them out there. The swimming pool is quite small and the area is very cramped and enclosed so gets extremely hot, it is mainly used by families using inflatables so we found it better to walk to the beach. The Hotel is very clean but also very basic. Ask for a room with a pool view otherwise the rooms overlooking the road can be very noisey as it is very busy with speed bumps. Overall we had a great holiday with fantastic weather and the hotel was okay as a base.

The hotel was very good for the price. When we arrived we were a little disappointed with size of room and having no Tv, but it was very clean and as it turns out, we didnt need the tv, the food was very good - in fact as good as the AI we have paid more for. The staff were all very nice and efficient. The hotel is just a few minutes from a harbour with lots going on, and lots of cafes etc. In fact the only bad things, were the very bad insect bites, I had - which is not fault of the hotel, its just me. We were very sad we had not booked for 10days, as we would have liked extra time there. As for the people who dont rate the hotel, perhaps they should pay alot more, then they would have the right to compain.

We booked our holiday through lowcostholidays thank god, as others in the hotel had paid lots more travelling with thomas cook or first choice.....my advice to you would be only book this holiday if you get it cheap! The hotel was ok but the pool was very small and you had to queue up early in the morning for a sunbed....if you did manage to get one you were in the shade for most of the day. We spent most of our time at the beach. The only other major problem we had was the air conditioning......it was only put on in the restaurant and bar area for small periods of time so it was useless really. We went as a family with a 5 & 7 year old and were more comfortable eating out every other night as the restaurant was so hot. Other than that, staff were friendly and rooms were tidied every day. We got what we paid for but we wouldn't go back.

just got back from 7 days,- can't see where the couple of bad reviews i read came from. Rooms/corridors etc cleaned every day,food very good,plenty of choice,hot and cold. Drinks same as most AI i,ve been too.The staff were just fab right across the board, and the other guests we met made for a great weeks break.

I went to this hotel, only just got back yesterday(thank god)it says thats its an all inclusive hotel, well it aint because me and my partner didnt spend one day at this hotel. We were out every day & night because the food was crap, has for the drinks well they were warm & horrible. The pool WAS NOT BIG ENOUGH!!! There wasnt enough room around the pool area, we saw loads of young children falling into the pool because there was no room to around the pool. The room we had wasnt big enough, bt it was clean which is the only good thing about the hotel. There aint no entertainment at all which is why we out every night. The beach is nice only a 2min walk away. the waterpark is about 20mins walk from the hotel. There is a nice english pub (smugglers) just out side the hotel, which we spent every night at. If you are thinking about this hotel & want to go, dont go, waste of money, find somewhere else to go please.

26/8/2011 just got back,what a joke of a hotel.i still cant believe a swimming in the shade, its like a bad dream! there are 25/30 sunbeds round the pool at both ends and one side,the other side is taken up by a covered area with tables and chairs.the pool is completely in the shade until 11am when only one side gets the sun! up three flights of stairs will get you to the sundeck where there is another 10/15 sunbeds,this gets no sun until 1pm! at about 2.30pm a complete half of the pool returns to the shade!the edges of the pool are rounded which makes it very hard to pull yourself out and very easy to slip into.to sum up,this is the worst sorry excuse of a swimming pool i have ever come across!the bar is three shelves with a few bottles scattered on them and a beer pump,and no air con,honestly you could not make this up,there is some so called entertainment at about 10.30pm by witch time we and many others had moved next door to the shamrock bar and where buying are drinks!!the food is just about eatable but we still had to eat out twice as we just could not not face it.sorry for the bad news if you are going here but i read so many bad reviews before i went and choose to ignore them..DONT IGNORE THIS even if it costs you,you must CHANGE HOTEL NOW!!!!GOOD LUCK.

I've just come back from here and it was lovely! First i was a bit worried as i read loads of bad reviews and i was scared that they would be true because some of the hotels around it didn't look very appealing however it was fine. The food was lovely you really can not complain about that, there is something there for everyone ( even the kids) The location is great- only a 2 minute walk to the beach. The rooms were basic but has everything that you need in there. There was entertainment but it was for both children and adults. The bar staff were friendly :) However sometimes you did have to cue for a bit. There are two pools a kids one which is away from the other one for the adults and older children but the only problem was that there are not enough sunbeds for the amount of people staying at the hotel so get down there early! ( it does say you cannot reserve sunbeds but you can they didn't say anything when we did. There is a kids club for the children for during the day but it is only for an hour . Over all this is a good holiday and i would come back here again :) I went with Thomson who were also a great help :)

i was here 12.07.2011 to 22.07.2011 had a great time staff friendly, rooms cleaned everyday and food was good only thing i didnt like was pool was to small but the beach is amazing and only a 2min walk, thinking of going next year.

just come back from a weeks holiday here booked independently location brillant, rooms big enough for 3 of us cleaned every day nice to get up and not have to make beds lifts were ok didnt have to wait long, some of the bar staff rude kept on moaning and refusing kids drinks,icecreams etc... its A.I they can have what they want! not the best entertainment some nights no one turned up (entertainers) that is. yes there are a few bars down the side so be prepared for ALOT of noise if your room is close till at 3 am the pool is small no good for children as its a pool like your local swimming pool so medium sized kids which have trouble touching the floor like 1 of mine then he wasnt keen on going in not many sunbeds they say not to save beds as towels will be removed well beds were saved everyday by towels and not removed and then they didnt turn up till lunch time the biggest NO NO with this hotel is the FOOD not great as i said you get what you pay for so if your a fussy eater then take PLENTY of cash cuz you will wont to eat out they DO NOT cater for kids i no you cant pick who you have your hols with but it was a cheap chavs holiday full of **** heads who had no respect for others you even had dinlos JUMPING off of the balconys into the pool where there were small children playing also they could really do with a tea /coffee machine as some people do get up b4 8 am you will find all of theses machine locked away till breakfast or 10.30 am when bar opens theres no kettle, tv in room so u have to wait a/c in rooms ok but could be better baring in mind it was 30 degrees at night if i was to go again i would defo take alot more money to eat out!
