Rural grandeur

Hazlewood Castle is where I grew up long before it became a luxury hotel. No, I didn't actually live in the castle but one night spent in the supremely comfortable Honeysuckle suite was beginning to produce delusions of grandeur. Situated in the heart of Yorkshire's idyllic countryside, the old castle is a haven of peace and tranquillity and the '1086' restaurant has a menu and wine list to satisfy the most fastidious. I can't wait for my next birthday to come round. Tim Pike
