Milford Hotel

I have stayed in this hotel on many occasions, choosing it mainly for the closeness to the A1 (not so close that it's noisy, though - the A1 was re- routed or something a while ago). I use it as a useful base for visiting around Yorkshire - eg 25 mins drive to York, 20 mins drive to Leeds. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are so comfortable and peaceful. The recently upgraded rooms in particular are great - fresh milk in the fridge, bathrobes, wonderful bathroom.

No overnight stay here, just an Easter sunday lunch. I used to drive by this place when it was clinging to the side of the A1. It looked the last place I would want to stop off at with it's Motel appearance and close proximity to such a busy road. My brothers father in law had booked it for a celebration lunch and I carried my doubts about the place through the door.
