Upon arrival (around 13 30) we were told that we would have to pay an extra £10 in order to check in 'early', yet another set of customers arrived very soon after us and were given thier room key. No extra charge! After waiting around for over an hour we finally got our... more

Everything excellent. Clean and very comfortable room and as expected with Travelodge’s, breakfast not included but can be purchased in the cafe bar on-site. Also cafe bar served alcohol so nice place to chill out before or after sampling the Leeds nightlife! Very... more

Quite OK actually
This is not a bad place to stay. We've stayed at a lot of 3-5* hotels around the UK and Europe and wouldn't settle for just any old rubbish. This place functions as simply a decent place to sleep. At £26 a night if you can get a special Internet rate it's fantastic value. The exterior of the building is fine, with decent interior decor, spacious reception area and modern bar. The rooms are OK, can't really complain, but the bathrooms, just like all UK Travelodges are pathetic. Fixed shower heads, leaking taps and mouldy celings. Apart from that they function well as a place to refresh in the morning after a good drink in Leeds the night before. Ask for a quieter room at the front of the hotel if you don't want to be at the back right next to the train station or the air conditioning vents of night clubs and bars that are under the train station arches. 5 Minutes to the train station or if you're driving there is a special rate with The Criterion multi-storey 'Q-Park' direclty opposite. Right next to the fancy Calls area of the City and minutes away from the shopping and entertainment areas. Wouldn't pay more than £26 special rate for this place and would happily stay here but only at this special rate.
None of the comforts of home
Travelodge have gone way downhill since my last stay in one. For £56 a night you are greeted with a card explaining why there are no extra towels, blankets, pillows or even biscuits with your tea. The answer - to cut costs. In the days of internet shopping I don't even consider £56 to be cheap. The Tv only had 3 channels which worked and you couldn't even dial reception. I have rarely had a worse night's sleep. A railway line was feet from my window and I was woken several times in the night by screaming returnees from hen parties and thumping bass from bars below. The walls were so thin. People in the next room could be heard so clearly I panicked and thought someone had got into my room. I had the misfortune of staying two nights. Had I not been staying with family members I would have checked out after the first. Parking is a joke. You have to go to a nearby multistorey but if like us you are with a disabled guest and you pull in at the entrance to disembark, you then find you have to drive miles back round the ring road to get back to where you want to be. The only good thing was a relatively good breakfast for £6.50. Get up early if you don't want the cooked selection to be congealed though. My advice - pay a little extra and go to the novotel or pay £53 for much better service at the holiday inn express (breakfast included).
Dont stay here
There are many better hotels in Leeds The staff are are not interested and dont appear to know what they are doing. Check in takes forever and most importantly the rooms are dirty. Full of dust, dirty duvet covers and a shower head that hadnt been cleaned since the hotel was built. Dont forget the view of the 6 railway lines, ideal for trainspotters but not if you intend getting any sleep whatsoever. It may be cheap, but it isnt clean.
I've seen cleaner crack-dens
Rank doesn't begin to describe this hotel. The bathroom looked like some 80's council sport centre, but I guess when you book a Travelodge, you don't expect much, you just expect it to be clean. It wasn't. we awoke after a night out in Leeds to find that we had shared the bed with a man's sock and some woman's knickers. We confronted reception who looked like they were going to cry and were refunded the cost of our room. Even though it was free, I think I woyuld have rather stayed in a hotel that doesn't just peel back the sheets and admit more guests to the room. Vile.
Not bad for the price!
Good sized room and very clean, you can always expect to have a comfy stay at most travel lodges. Excellent location, train station, shops and night life are all within a few minutes walk. Breakfast is very good and a bargin, you can have continental or English. There is plenty of choice and you can eat as much as you want. Only minor problem was that we did wake up to hear a nearby club tipping the empties at about 4am but we quickly got back to sleep. Prehaps to avoid this ask for a room facing away from the club. Overall a good stay and would definately use again!
No problems
Stayed here for one night at the end of November, and got a bargain £25 room from the website! Huge problems trying to find the place, we had directions from the website but must have come into Leeds a different way. The hotel doesn't have a car park, and so parking is expensive, there is a multi-storey car park opposite the hotel which cost us about £20 to stay from 6pm to 11am the following day. Check-in was slow, but we were told there was a computer problem. The lifts seemed to be temperamental, you have to use your room key to operate them and it didn't always work! The room was fine, we had a double - not a very nice view (a railway line), but it was clean, reasonably sized, and quiet. TV and drinks facilities, good shower, bathroom spacious and clean. We didn't eat at the hotel but we did have a drink in the bar after a night out, which was again fine. Location fantastic and this hotel is a real bargain if you can get the special online room rate. However would probably get the train/bus next time to avoid extortionate parking charges!
Watch out in the shower, you could get burnt.
My daughter was having a great weekend until she slipped in the bath, ( there was no bath mat) and fell on a heated towel rail, which has a sigh saying it may get warm, ha ha......... She was getting ready to go out and it spoilt her evening and remainder of the weekend. She has visited her doctor since returning home, and has been told it is a very severe burn which has started to infect, she has now been put on Anitbiotics and has difficulty sleeping as it's now very painful. When she reported it to Recepion her boyfriend was sent to Boots to see the Pharmacist, nice to know they were such a caring Hotel...........laugh out loud. Don't have a bath or shower in this place, and if you do and fall and burn your arm, Boots is just down the road............
Hey - A travelodge - exactly what it says on the tin
Have had a few nights here. Rooms clean, comfy and tidy. Exactly the same as every other T Lodge in the country. The breakfast - well - if you're paying for it, consider going elsewhere and getting a better deal - like the the £3 one in the BHS store up the hill, 300meteres away, or the Wetherspoons at the Station...
Modern Rooms, Central Location
The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. The hotel is an excellent location just a few minutes walk from the train station, however the walk from the station is quite desolate. Some of the rooms do overlook the train station and a bar so you might need earplugs if you are a light sleeper but should not be a problem. The hotel has an efficient check-in and check-out procedure which is quick and simple. A good value choice for a stay in central leeds.
Clean, central, economical
This hotel is reasonably priced, very new and central. The bathroom is compact, cosy and spotless. The hotel has a decent, reasonable bar open till late and vending machines at reception for water, snacks etc. While I love the idea of crisp cotton sheets, why do they continue to use them when they have holes in?
