Hotel very good value and very clean. The food was excellent and there was plenty of choice. However, I think they should have warning signs placed in hotels and at the railway station to warn holidaymakers of the risk of pickpocketing.
The only down side of our holiday in Santa Susanna was my husband being the victim of a pickpocket at Santa Susanna railway station when we went on a day trip to Barcelona. We went back there on several occasions and witnessed the pickpockets in action. They work in groups of around 4 or 5, including a girl. The police were advised but did not seem remotely interested, despite the fact that they were always around the railway station when we were there. They seem to select passengers going on the Barcelona train, presumably because if they are heading to Barcelona for they day they will have more cash. There is such a rush to get on the train and they jostle passengers trying to alight the train and this is when they steal the wallets etc. They then get off at the next station and get the train back again. My husband had cash and credit cards stolen, unfortunately this was not noticed until we reached Barcelona. They had attempted to use the cards in Pineda de Mar which is just a few miles down the line. They then get back on a train coming back to Santa Susanna and start all over again. They appear to get on trains without buying a ticket and there are no ticket barriers at Santa Susanna so they can just stand on the platform and get on an off the train when they want to. PLEASE BE WARNED!!!

Just returned from a week at the Sirius with my 20 year old daughter. Couldn't fault the hotel - everything was spotless. The food was brilliant, an enormous choice and something for everyone I would think. The pool area was great, clean, nice bar for drinks and snacks and staff always friendly and helpful. Evening entertainment in the bar area each evening - a bit amateurish but so what - a good laugh and a friendly and safe environment. Santa Susanna busy with everything you could need. All in all a brilliant holiday and sunshine as well!

Me and my 16 year old daughter have been back 2 week from our one week stay at the Sirius, overall it was fantastic the food was great everything you could want was out,i thought my daughter being a fussy eater would not eat anything like on previous holidays but i was shocked to find that on every night there was something she liked!
breakfast was great it catered for all different countries (things for english such as eggs, bacon, sausage.)also there was fruit and cereals. The main dinner was great also they provided things such as fresh salmon, steaks, chickens, ect where salad was available everynight aswell and for starters they always had a soup which was good too.
The pool was fine it looks small but once your in its pretty resonable size it also has a part for babies and small children, people were saying it was freezing,i don't agree it was cold (like all pools) but once your in for 2 minutes your fine. There was also no fighting for sunbeds everyday we came back to the pool after we have been out and there was plenty of them and plenty of sun too.
I liked how at night there is all market stalls which are great for bringing home presents, also i like the fact that your only 5 minutes away from the beach, train station, shops and bus stops and the supermarket stall is infront of the sirius (there joint together)so that was great.
The only thing i couldn't say was that good was the entertainment which the hotel had on everynight it was things such as parot shows, reptile shows, dancing classes it was empty until around 11 and then it started to get full this was when the shows start. We had a walk round at night to the shopping centre and market stalls (it was still warm at that time)
Overall the staff, hotel and santa susanna itself was brilliant we had no problems at all and loved every minute of our holiday we didn't want to come home, the room was lovely, clean cleaned everyday by the cleaners.I would definalty go again but next time for 2 weeks as it was that nice, definatly book your holiday at the sirius you wont be dissapointed. :)

Came back from Hotel Sirius last sunday, and I have to be honest...It is the best Hotel I have ever been to.
It was exceptionally clean, the maids would clean the room every single day, make your beds, change towels and were friendly and understanding.
There was no issue at all with noise. I've read other comments and do not agree with them at all.
we stayed in Room 412 and it was above the loading bay...4 floors up and personally I did not hear any noise there at all during my week stay.
Pool is situated on the third floor, which is a good advantage as it is higher up and has alot of sunshine during the days.
I did not find the pool to be 'freezing' but to be honest, it was not very warm but did not bother me because once your in the pool for 2 mins you're fine.
You do not have to wear long trousers to dinner, I wore 3/4's most of the time and many others did also, just dress casual.
the food was not too bad, the hotel does its best to cater for many different countries... there would be cereals, toast, cooked food (omelette, eggs, bacon, sausages, beans etc), hams, cheese, bread... for breakfast so there is a wide range of food on offer for breakfast and dinner.
The Reception desk were very helpful, as our electric stopped working ..through our own fault because we didn't use our 'key' (its like a credit card, to go in the room..that posh kinda stuff.. :P) in the wall, that puts electric on in the room and you have two of these, but yeah as I was saying... we called the reception from our phone in the room and they had a electrician up there really fast (1-2mins!)
Air Conditioning was absolutely lovely! you can choose how hot/cold you want your room to be...I put it on 0 degrees one night and I woke up shivering... in spain which I thought woudn't be possible haha so I opend the terrace door and that turns the A/C off and let the warm air in.
Prices for Jack Daniels & Coke were 6 euro's which I think was far too expensive, even though they did put half my glass full of JD.
bar food was nice, pizza's are stonebaked which tasted lovely if you want a snack during the daytime.
also, I remember reading a claim that you could 'jump' from one side of the hotel to the other hotel ..unless you're superman this is complete bull.. the hotels are nicely seperated
there is also, table tennis, sofa's all around the place if you want to chillax for 5, two computers with net, jacuzzi, weights room, 2 pool tables and luggage room with a mens and womens shower and changing rooms for when you're leaving.
The bar would have nice entertainment each night which even had a wheelchair lift, when I stayed there were such shows as Flamenco Dancing, Reptile Shows, Live Music(keyboardist/vocals) and all that type of things, though we only watched the Live Music because we were out most nights.
so, Overall I give Hotel Sirius a 9/10 Rating, well worth a visit.
I doubt you would be disappointed :)

Have just come back from a week in the hotel Sirius and thought it was a very nice hotel. The rooms were nice, very clean and well looked after. The staff were very friendly and helpful and their was always entertainment at night for those who wanted to stay in. Food was ok, breakfast always had a great choice but I found that the dinners were the same and didn`t really cater for British tastes. My only complaint would be about the pool. It was quite small and very cold and if you wanted a space to sunbathe you had to be up very early as many people put their towels down before breakfast then go away. Our room was slightly noisy as it was above the kitchens and bins but it didn`t really bother us much. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel Sirius.
Santa Susanna was a good resort for exploring the coast as the train was very easy to use and Barcelona was only a short trip away. I would recommend a boat trip up to Tossa De Mar as it was our best day out during the whole holiday.

My boyfriend and I stayed here and the resort itself was quiet and not really much to do. The Hotel was fantastic, couldn't be faulted. All staff were very helpful, rooms were excellent and cleaned to a very high standard. Rooms were equipped with everything you could possible need. The food was amazing and there was a very very large variety and they catered for all tastes. Can't fault the hotel at all and wish we could take the hotel with us on every holiday!!

My boyfriend and I went to Hotel Sirius in October 07 and had a fantastic holiday. The hotel could not be faulted at all. Service was amazing, food was wonderful and catered for all tastes. All staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. All facilities were there. Bars were great.
Honestly, can't fault this hotel at all and I have no idea why others have given such low marks.
Definately worth a trip to Santa Susanna just to visit Sirius Hotel.
An amazing hotel.
The friendliest & informed nature of the arrival staff was so comforting.
The weather was atrocious 10 out of 14 days raining. The hotel was our home. We’re a family of four with two young children.
Immaculately clean grounds, communal areas, and rooms.
The most amazing selection and quality of food in the open and airy restaurant, regardless of the meal time. The restaurant staff both waiters and chef challenge the arrival staff for friendliness.
My only fault with our stay was that the evening entertainment was very locally bias. However, when in Rome?
I am hard to please, go to this hotel in the knowledge that you have picked well. Relax and enjoy.
The hotel is well located for the weekly market, and/or short walks to the main street, beach, train stop, supermarket complex etc.
Enjoy your holiday

After reading the review that stated 4 out of 10 was a little worried. Didn't need to be worried though. Hotel was fantastic.
Room - very clean, large enough. View not great but who goes on holiday to sit in the bed room? When patio door shut was quiet after about half 11. had no problems sleeping.
Food - I am a fussy eater and I found something to eat at each meal. There was fruit both in the mornings and evenings. Good selection of food for evening meal and everything that you could want for brekki - even chocolate cake (yes for brekki!) If you are not having meals in the hotel not many other places to eat. We had to find lunch which was a choice of burger king or over priced cheese toastie type stuff.
Men do need to have trousers on at dinner but my other half had jeans on and there were no problems, just smart casual really.
Staff - all very friendly and helpful
Entertainment - dance shows, animal show bingo. Nothing too special but just outside there are lots of stalls along the road.
I would stay there again.

My wife and I stayed 7 days at the Sirius Hotel in August. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and approachable!
The food standard was good and we had plenty fresh fruit on offer at breakfast and dinner every day.
Our only negative point is that the pool area was a bit small.
Santa Susanna is a base to visit Barcelona as you have the benefit of a beach holiday and a city break combined! I find it annoying to read people complaining about the hotel, after all, we only paid £245 each which included our flights, transfers and half board accommodation. I am also glad that the hotel management stands by their dress code for dinner in the evening.
All in all, a very pleasant relaxing holiday... We would definitely go back!

Just returned from an 11 night stay at this hotel and couldn't wait to get home, we go on holiday abroad 5/6 times a year and this has to be the worst hotel ever.
Very noisy, after 5 nights of no sleep we paid 180 euros to upgrade to a suite, this was a joke as the room was the same as the others only with a seating area, 2 chairs and a wooden coffee table, the only good thing was it had a sea view (between the hotels across the road).
Bar staff and maids are excellent and the hotel is very clean but this is all it has going for it, the food was awful, no fresh fruit at breakfast of dinner, everything came out of a tin, the only night the food was edible was Saturday, this is when the Spanish book in for the weekend, then we found out were all the fresh fruit went, it was used to decorate the salad counter, couldn't believe the waste.
Very noisy hotel, it is surrounded by other hotels and most of the rooms are at the side of the building, it is so close to the other hotels on either side you could jump across, do not get room 322 as this one (or any in that area) is right at the bin area of the other hotel and all you hear during the night is bottles being thrown in to bins, bin lorries first thing in the morning, delivery vans, noise is unbelievable.
The resort itself is very clean, but very busy and to get to the beach you have to go through underpasses, dirty and sprayed with graffiti. Didn't feel safe at all during our 11 night stay.
Sorry if you've already booked and haven't been yet but we did the same, we looked at the various web sites like this one and went because of the comments, but then everyone has different tastes.
The good points of the hotel...

The good points of the hotel were the cleanliness, although the bleach used in reception and restaurant were a little over powering and the maid service was excellent.
The food I found reasonable as I am a fussy eater although we had a child with us who is also fussy. I feel that children were not really catered for having only fish fingers one night in the week.
The hotel entertainment was poor and there were few shows in the town. There was one in particular that was good but when you have seen it twice you want something different. We had one night in the Waikiki Bar which was good but drinks were fairly expensive.
We searched a lot of food places for dinner and the best one we found was the Eureka Corner. It had a varied menu and served a great cup of tea, just up from the Rovers Return, which was fairly greasy.
The pool was nice but small and if the hotel had been busier I can imagine how difficult it would be to get a sun bed. I'm not really a beach person and the shingle was terrible.
We were lucky and had good weather otherwise this would have turned into a terrible holiday.
