After reading these reviews I was dreading this hotel, but what a lot of rubbish the hotel was fine, it was always clean and tidy, yes it was busy at dinner time but all hotels are when you choose full board or all inclusive, there was plenty of choice for food always having, at least 2 meat dishes at least one fish dish, there was salad, chips and pasta every night, breakfast and lunch were good also.
The location of the hotel is central and the only downfalls were that the staff weren’t very helpful but i feel that was more about the language barrier.

This has got to be the worst holiday my husband and I have ever had the misfortune of spending our hard earned money on. The hotel looked rather nice from the outside (having "recently" undergone a makeover) but that was where the pleasantries ended.
Despite requesting a double room, we were given twin beds on the 3rd floor which had yet to be refurbished. The room was tiny, the bathroom dingy and the soft furnishings looked like they had been caught in a 70s time warp. The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable and only had a thin sheet.
The towels were stained (although did smell clean) and the sink would not stop leaking even though we were told it had been fixed on 3 occasions.
The dining room was tiny and the bacon at breakfast appeared to be served in oil soup. The food was just awful, although if you looked hard enough there were some edible morsels about. we did not even attempt to eat dinner there as the queue stretched from the dining room past the reception desk.
Finally, the entertainment was so bad I felt like Simon Cowell sitting through the highlights of the worst X-Factor/Pop Idol auditions.
The resort of Santa Susanna itself is not very entertaining but it doesn’t make any pretensions that it is. There are a couple of nice places eat (Arc Tapas Bar was pretty good) and Malgrat de Mar up the road has a good English pub (the Crown and Anchor) which has very generous portions of food!
Thank God for the supermarket next to the hotel which sold a good selection of fresh baked bread, cheese and cooked meats. Had it not been for this my husband and I would have starved to death in the hell hole that is the Riviera Hotel!

Well where do I start should have stayed at home in a tent in my back garden. Don’t feel like I've had a break. The hotel accommodated more guests than what they could cater for. The rooms were very small, so was the pool area.
Has for the dining room had to clean our own tables to sit down had to wait in line for 1/2 hour to get in the dining room, no clean plates but was offered a saucer to eat off daughter got food poisoning, staff unhelpful and rude, food well if it wasn’t for chips everyday don’t know what kids would of eaten 90% of the time these were cold had to eat out on many occasion to which we had not budgeted on. Maids service was the best thing I could comment on pleasant and did their job.
The resort I feel was nice for somebody who did not have children or were senior citizens. There were some brill English bars we liked the legends was one to visit great meals and chap. Will not be returning and feel dissapointed, before I go have you ever had sausage casserole for breakfast or fish fingers and frogs! No I haven’t but that’s what to expect when visiting the Riviera.

What can I say, on the other reviews I have read I must agree with them, the food is not very nice at all. Everything about this hotel is not great, because the hotel is over crowded for the amount of facilities on offer. We spent most of our time eating out, and going to other hotels for entertainment. There are six English bars in the area, but with only a hand full of Brits these are not that good either, but they do sell good food.

Please replace my earlier submission with the following for the Hotel Riviera in Santa Susanna, Spain. I feel you should be aware of the following comments :-
a) The Reception and Bar staff were very pleasant and helpful and although the public areas of the Hotel Riviera are excellent, there are some aspects of the hotel which leave a lot to be desired.
b) The bedrooms are small but clean; the maid service was very good but the towels were “grey” instead of white, in fact I have thrown better into my dustbin.
c) Our main area of concern and disappointment was the dining room – I don’t know really where to start, but here goes :
At Breakfast: to sit down we usually had to clear and clean a table for ourselves. There were never any clean plates and when requested we were given tiny tea plates on which to put our breakfast. The menu hardly ever varied – we had fried eggs once in two weeks. The bacon was usually raw and everything else was covered in grease.
At Dinner: there was little or no choice – chips every day; either fish or one selection of meat (which was sometimes in the form of stew). There was no cold meat or cheese to go with the salad if we didn’t like the hot courses. The sweet table was virtually non-existent: either mousse or fresh fruit (which was usually too hard or unripe to eat) and an occasional dry looking cake and ice cream. Except for one or two exceptions, the dining room staff were surly and not a bit helpful and to add insult to injury the cutlery was of the lowest grade, any slight pressure and they looked as though Uri Gheller had bent them.
We certainly would not consider going back to the Hotel Riviera and I know that by the comments we heard other guests making, we are not alone in our opinion which is a shame because the resort is delightful.

After just returning from a five day break at the Hotel Riviera, I feel that I must comment in defence of this hotel against some of the reviews that I read prior to my departure.
We found on arrival a bright spacious reception area with very helpful staff, our room was clean and cheerful with excellent maid service.
OK There were queues for the dining room at the opening time but if you go back a little later you can walk straight in.
The food, considering it is 'mass catering' was perfectly adequate with a very acceptable choice of items, frequently topped up counters and always hot.
All in all considering the cost of my holiday, I could not have gone to a better hotel...Excellent value for money.
