This was the best holiday we have had!
Used the crèche and the staff were lovely. Large family room, although short on storage & electric sockets. Didn’t have any problems with mosquitos, kept the door shut at all times and used a plug in.
Food was great although a suggestion would be to label food as sometimes you’re not sure what you’re picking up!
Cant comment on entertainment as our daughter went to bed after mini-disco, our room was on the 1st floor above reception and we didn’t have any problems with noise.
All in all a great holiday - to be recommended!!

Mosquitoes again.
Went with a group of 31 people (aged 1 to 50+).Found the hotel and rooms clean and spacious. We were on the 5th floor overlooking the lake to the front so the view was good as well. Had to hire a kettle for the room, which was a 1st. Food was good, a couple of nights we ate down the town as the children didn’t like anything on the menu. The pools were clean and there is never a problem getting a bed at the one across the road.
If you like Cider be prepared to pay. €7 for a pint bottle then they have the cheek to charge a euro to put ice in the glass!
There is a Chinese restaurant called the Peking Duck on the Main St which is very reasonable and the food was excellent. John Smith's English Bar and Yolanda's were also very good .
Two of the group had to go to the doctor with mosquito bites that had swollen to a massive size( cost €180). Generally I don’t get bitten on holidays but one day my daughter counted 19 on my left leg alone, that’s with using sprays and every other sort of repellant.
Playa de Muro has shops all with the same rubbish in them. Cheers bar is excellent - as is the swan (great mixed grill)
Would I go back to Lagotel Not a chance in hell unless they shifted the whole place away from the area to another part of the island and all of the adults in the group said exactly the same thing!

This is a top class hotel very clean plenty of room in hotel rooms. We were situated on the third floor facing the lake which is very picturesque it was great for the kids to feed the ducks they loved it.
The staff are extremely polite and helpful extended with the staff as well, the entertainment was first class only thing I suggested was they turned the lights down around the bar which would make for a better atmosphere. The buffet style restaurant was great if you prefer your English sausage and bacon then stick to your cereal and toast but on a evening the food was fantastic. Plenty for kids to do pool freezing but aren’t they all would def recommend.
There is also a shuttle bus into town centre every 15/30 mins but it is only a 10 min walk into the town and beach which is fantastic.

First choice were first class from start to finish, they opened all check in desks at the airport and got us through quickly and friendly.
We got to the venue with ease and went to our apartment which was huge, clean and better than we had expected. With even little extras in the bathroom i.e. shoe cleaner and shampoo etc, I then had the most fantastic hot power shower I have ever had in a hotel.
The pools are great (and clean) the view is lovely, you can see the power station but as much as I tried I couldn’t hear it! A ten/fifteen min walk to a fab beach and a gorgeous clear sea.
The only let down on the whole holiday was the uncomfortable beds, we went for one week and I couldn’t have lasted two! Ache!
All in all great, the food was good ,the entertainment was fun but didn’t keep you up all night, the staff were lovely. Well done first choice and thanks.

Was a little worried about going here after reading some of the previous reviews but needn't have been. Found the staff very friendly and polite, the rooms were big and spacious - cooking facilities not great, but who goes on holiday to cook. Had no issues with the noise from the entertainment, our 20 month old son slept soundly through it.
The pools were great - although we did tend to prefer the quieter on across the road as there were no issues getting sun beds at any time of the day (possibly because we went outside the main school holidays so it was less busy).
We did try the hotel restaurant once and although there was a lot of choice found it rather bland - would not want to eat there every night, especially as there are some fantastic restaurants nearby. Lovely clean sandy beach a 10 minute walk away.
Probably wouldn't go back though - but that is true of anywhere as like to try different places. Wouldn't travel with first choice either - but that’s hardly the fault of the hotel.

Hi, we have just returned from our holiday to Hotel Lagotel. It was the BEST HOLIDAY EVER!
We went to Lagotel with a party of 16 people (of all ages). Everybody enjoyed themselves and had fun. The rooms were very clean and cleaned everyday apart from Sundays. The pool was also very clean and plenty of sun beds available.
The food was very nice and had a great selection every night. The beach was only a short walk away but there is a free bus service that takes you there too.
By the beech was a lovely restaurant called "Yolanda" and it served lovely food. Also down the road from the hotel is a British pub called "CHEERS". It has nightly quizzes and entertainment. We had lots of laughs there especially on the Karaoke!! The quizzes were very good and we won most of them! "THE BEXLEY BOOZERS"
Over all had a great time there, and lots of laughs. LAGOTEL WAS GRRRRRRREAT!

Hi,
We have just returned from Lagotel and it was the best holiday ever! There was 16 in our party (all ages).
The pool was gorgeous. Great selection of food with different roast meats every night.
The rooms and hotel were very clean. The first choice staff were helpful. There are plenty of activities if you want to join in or just relax around the pool.
Beach is only a short walk away, but you can get the bus from outside the hotel for free if you want. There is a great bar called "Cheers" just down the road (well worth a visit). They held lots of competitions every night for kids and adults and we won loads. The Bexley Boozers!. Another recommendation is the Yolanda Pizzeria by the beach - had some great meals there.
This hotel is definitely worth a visit.

Just returned from our holiday, we were very impressed overall with the hotel and all of the staff who were always ready to assist you when needed. very clean, food was excellent, entertainment was excellent as well, First Choice reps were brill, Steph from swim kids was excellent with our 7 year old daughter (felt sorry for her being in the water all day must have been freezing when the wind was up?.
Jimmy the bingo caller was a pain, kept on making stupid noises while you were trying to mark your bingo which led to many people calling for a win but had not heard properly (Jimmy give it a rest).
There was a courtesy bus to the beach, this was great (saved lugging all the blow ups).
The waiters and restaurant staff were brill, could not fault them at all, always there working, this is a family hotel and the remarks about the sort of family it attracts is wrong, if people want a quiet holiday then they should find an adults only holiday!!!
The hotel caters for all tastes, the pool over the road is much quieter than the main pool, lots of other attractions for adults and kids alike.
Keep up the good work, and see you next year.

We have just returned back from a 10 day break at the Lagotel apartments. Overall the holiday was quite good, but I did find the Hotel to be a bit on the large side and as a result, it was a bit of a nightmare at mealtimes with people pushing and shoving. Also, on the subject of food, it was at best basic, with the breakfast in particular being very poor.
The hotel is also a bit isolated, but the Cheers bar is a good night out, even thought a bit repetitive at times!
One of my main concerns was the attitude of the Spanish staff which I found extremely rude and unhelpful. Once in the restaurant, my four year old son broke a glass by accident and I was given a brush and shovel to clean it all up by myself by the Spanish waitress which was extremely embarrassing particularly in such a large place with so many people looking on.
On the positive side though, the reps worked very hard in an attempt to entertain the children particularly at night. My six year old daughter loved the disco and also learned to swim through the swimming lessons that were available.
Overall, not too bad, but we won't be returning in the future.

If you want 4 or 5 star amenities, this hotel is not for you. If you are looking for a good quality 3 star place then you've found it. We have just returned from the Lagotel, the rooms are spacious, very clean and there is a "good feel" about the place.
We found the staff to be very helpful and polite, the food (we were self catering but had breakfast in the hotel €5 p.p.) was well presented with a large choice of both hot and cold foods.
The entertainment was so so and was, as a previous reviewer stated, very loud, but having said that, the children were well catered for. The location of the hotel is a €10 taxi ride or €1.10 bus ride away from the port area of Alcudia although there is a small shopping area and access to the beach about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
If you like playing pool, you will be hard pressed to find a decent pool table, every one we played on was either on a slant or the cloth was damaged. The mosquitoes were out in force while we were there, so take anti mosquito creams.
A restaurant I would recommend, is the Elisa, which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, (the sirloin and t-bone steaks are huge). A final note, we travelled with First Choice and would highly recommend them.

Myself (28) my partner (27) and daughter (7) have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Lagotel and had an excellent holiday, on arrival our 1st impressions which was about 6am in the morning was that the hotel looked a bit dull as it needed a bit of a paint but after having a sleep and getting up from our room which was clean and spacious we had changed our minds dramatically as the sun was shining and brightened the place up and we also had great views across the pools and terrace, the pools are great and although being salt water they are perfect for what you need.
There are 2 pools one in the actual hotel terrace and 1 across the road we used this on our 1st day but after that we tended to stay in the 1 on the terrace the only gripe i would have is that there is a stampede for the comfy sun beds at 9am every morning so make sure your up early and get one!
The daytime entertainment was good but evening entertainment was even better a variety of professional acts as well as the team doing a grease performance.
We never had a problem with the mozzies or the power station. The excursions we felt were a bit expensive so we arranged our own, we hired a car and drove to Palma (1hr away) where the bigger water park (Aqualand) el Arenal is, this was excellent and a must if you go to Majorca we also visited marine land.
We never used the kids clubs as our little one was quite happy to just swim all day.
The restaurant was great and a good variety for all.
Overall we had a great holiday and would definitely go back for 2 weeks.

Spent 7 Days at the Lagotel on a recommendation from friends, who had previously visited and were not disappointed. Have in fact booked up for 7 days in August 2007.
My wife and I took our 13 year old son with us and he made many friends here, but he still wishes to take a friend next year.
Did not eat in the Hotel Restaurant as we were self catering and preferred to dine out at various restaurants around the area.
Took a small electric kettle and toaster with us, this we have found a must unless it states in the brochure that the apartments contain these.
Excellent holiday all round, yes the mossies are a problem but have been faced with this in various resorts around the Med.
