The best way from the airport for a group would be a taxi, it cost us 22Euros for 5 people going back to the airport. To the hotel we decided on the 6.50 Euro day bus and LUAS (tram) ticket.
This includes the express airport bus. Get off the bus at either the bus station or the stop before and join the LUAS which then takes about 5 minutes to Smithfield. The hotel is next to a great supermarket which does excellent sandwiches.
We did the Guinness tour which is OK, once you`ve done it you wouldn`t go again but it`s worth doing I suppose. As for food, surprisingly most of the restaurants around Temple Bar were really busy considering it was a Tuesday October night; however we squeezed into Luigi Malone, an Italian which has mega portions at an unbelievable price. Excellent quality working out at £20 a head including wine.
Overall the hotel is spot on. Be advised though that the rooms are not air conditioned and we were hot (October) so I dread to think what they are like in July.
Thoroughly recommended.
