Lago Park I Apartments Reviews
" "We have been to this hotel 3 times... "
Submitted By: Mrs R Mayers
"We have been to this hotel 3 times now and every time, without exception, we’ve been 100% satisfied. All the reception staff are super friendly and helpful, we have only stayed in the one bedroomed apartments, so cannot comment on the studios, except to say we have been told that they are a bit too small. So we recommend anyone booking at Lago Park should go for the one bedroomed option if there is more than 2 of you. The apartment itself was cleaned 3 times a week, by cleaners that are very friendly, there is free wifi in the bar area and the drinks there are a reasonable price. We can’t comment too much on the entertainment, as most nights we would go to our favourite bar restaurant, (Nuevo Rancho), directly across the main road, by the roundabout with the giant fish hook, as the owners and staff have become very good friends, so we recommend that you call in there and have some first class food, just tell them Steve and Rosie sent you!! Just one last point about the horse carriages, that is VERY IMPORTANT, I'd also like to let you know of the nightmare we had with one the horse and carriage drivers outside our hotel in Playa de Muro, Alcudia. One of the drivers had 2 dogs with him every day, and they were clearly his, and he cuddled them and played with them. One of them got run over on the busy road, I saw it from our 3rd floor balconey and as he made no move to help it, I ran down and by that time someone else had moved the dog. I found it, it had a broken leg and was bleeding heavily, the owner said he had called the vet, and it would be here in an hour, I argued with him, watched by a group of disgusted tourists, and I even asked for him to give me the dog and I would take it to the vets at no cost to him, but he refused. He poured a bucket of cold water over the dog, which screamed, so I got my hotel manager to tell him if he did not take it to the vets I would call the police. After stating in Spanish, that it was "uneconmical to take it to the vets", he put it back in the carraige and set off, I asked my husband to get in the car and follow him, my husband caught the heartless cretin about to throw the dog in the canal to save himself 20€ in vet fees, my husband stopped him, and then told him to go to the vets, 2 min drive away, he went past 2 vets, and then tied the dog up outside a hardware store in Peurto Alcudia. My husband went to the store and a woman came out and claimed she was a vet!!! and that there was no problem, She sold nails and screws for gods sake. My husband told her he had worked for the RSPCA, and that the dog needed a vet as it had a broken leg and possibly internal injuries, the carriage man and 3 of his mates returned and were threatened my husband. I was still in Playa de Muro, and when the police came the other carriage drivers ganged up on me and a girl who worked at the hotel, and told the police the dog was a stray and was not even injured, if this was the case why did he refuse to give me the dog to take to the vets? I asked the police to take me the 2 min drive to where my husband was being threatened, they refused and told me to tell him to call the police in the Port!!! What use they were is anybody's guess, and they said "Its only a dog". Yes but it was in pain and the tourists were disgusted by the blokes behaviour, but only after I waded in did some of them come to my aid when the other carriage drivers were shouting at me and threatening the hotel staff. If the bloke had just picked up the dog and gone when it had first happened, we would have been none the wiser, but he waited 3/4 hour, and only went after I threatened to call the police. We still do not know what happened to the dog, as the woman ran off and my husband couldn't follow, or call the police in time. The carriage drivers are mostly Gypsy's, whilst I'm not racist against them, I do question their practises, the horses are outside the Lago Park hotel for 14+ hours a day, in all weather, with no food in that time, only a little water, they have no shade apart from a couple of trees, all for the sake of tourists having a carriage ride for 30 mins, its inhumane, and if they treat their dogs this way, how do they treat their horses when they are injured? They even have their horses shod by the farrier outside the hotel, not wanting to miss any tourists who may want to have a ride in their carriage. The carriage driver in question had no licence plate on his carriage until a few days later, the number being PM 199. The bloke is easily recognied, he's 25 - 30 years old, always has a little black dog with him, (until that gets knocked down, as it's never on a lead), he also has a small Mallorcan flag on the side of his carraige. We would urge ALL tourist not to use the horse and carriages, not only for the fact that the drivers/operators have little or no regard for their horses or dogs, or any other livestock for that matter, but because it's all in the name of the mighty Euro, let's not forget the fact that its highly likely that if you were invovled in an accident whist being carried in one of these contraptions, your insurance company are not likely to pay out and you would be left with an almighty medical bill. "
Top Tip:
"Give the English bars a wide birth, and call in at the Nuevo Rancho Restaurant Bar and say hello to Antonio and all the staff there. And don't use the horse and carriages, by doing so you are advocating animal cruelty."

Lago Park is fantastic we have been there 6 times both with our children 13 & 16 and on our own, every time we have been back we have met up with people we have seen there before. Yes it’s basic but very clean and friendly.
If you have more than 2 people make sure you book an 1 bedroom apt or you will not have any room, the other beds in a 1 bedroom apartment are only settees but I have slept on them and they are ok.
Maria the manager will do everything she can to make your holiday for you and the staff
Mari and Rosemary (reception) Roly and Isabel (bar) along with the others are all very friendly and helpful.
The pool is not huge but very well maintained and you can usually get a sun bed.
Entertainment is on most nights some of the shows are very good it just depends what you like.
If you want an easygoing holiday with friendly staff this is the place. If people go looking for problems they will always have something to moan about.
Lago is close to the beach, shops and many places to eat. Alcudia old town is a bus or taxi ride away, taxi is better, and the market is a good morning out, Alcudia port is lovely the sea bus is a good way to get to it.
So to sum up, basic but fantastic, a holiday is what you make it so Enjoy!

" A family 2 adults 2 teenagers 14... "

A family 2 adults 2 teenagers 14 & 12 yrs old. This is the last time that we go with First Choice (never again) for a 3 star holiday. Lago Park I & II, they are not a pretty looking site, very small hotels, the pools are tiny with a very small number of sun beds, and they have few amenities. The room Lago Park II was grotty also, we had 2 beds, also one pull out sofa.
Cleaning was at a minimum, kitchen facilities were 2 rings that’s it and a kettle. We complained to the hotels lady Director, give her some credit, she moved us very quickly to Lago Park I. This was more modern same facilities, better maids here, ok if you want a cheap and nasty break. Paying the full dollar with First Choice this is not a good deal, believe me. We were offered far cheaper rates by the management £600. On the plus side, the location is good with beach only couple of minutes away and there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
Can recommend Smiths go up to main road traffic lights go over main drag down side street on the left. The Swan go to main road turn right up to next lights turn left. Cheers bar turn right over the bridge ok 4 the kids (don’t eat there its rubbish. Burger King in same street. A lot of hotels in Alcudia are set back quite a long way from the beach and main strip. You are made very welcome in them all (least they have entertainment, lol) Also you could not fault the effort of the staff particularly the entertainer Sebastian, who was a one man band and worked tirelessly every day.
The barmen Roli and Raj were ok and the service was slow and £2 for Budweiser etc a bit strongly priced. However this hotel is never a 3 star, definitely a 2 star. If you are looking to go away and can get a cheap deal and don’t mind staying in a basic but well run hotel, then this is your place. If you are looking for a bit more, steer clear and steer clear of First Choice.

This was the last time that I have gone on a AOA holiday , we went with first choice (never again) for a AOA 3star holiday.
We got on the coach and pulled up outside some huge lovely looking hotels, eventually Lago Park was called.
It is not a pretty looking site, very small hotel , the pool is tiny with a very small number of sunbeds, and has few amenities. Nearly every day we went to the beach.
The room was grotty also, we did not even have beds, just 2 pull out sofas.

If you’re looking for a quiet family holiday-Alcudia is the place to go. As a 16 yr old I read reviews of the net that Alcudia is more a resort for young families, which did put me off!

Around Lago Pk Apartments theres many restaurants with great set menus and family entertainment in the evening. Although the entertainment in Lago Pk itself wasn’t up to much, we were spoilt with choice at many bars that offered great entertainment. Within walking distance from the apartments are both JPs family pub and Cheers.

JPs was aimed at all the family, were as after the children’s entertainment at Cheers finished, it became very quiet. overall both accommodation and local entertainment were great and ideal for any family that would like a fun but quiet holiday.
" Fantastic holiday! The apartments are... "

Fantastic holiday! The apartments are clean and tidy, and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are good. It has great location being a very short walk to the wonderful beach!! It is also close to local’s shops and restaurants. There is a bus service or taxis available to get to the port or nightclubs, which are a bit of a long walk away. Overall highly recommended, had a very enjoyable week in the Mallorca sun!! :)

The positives: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beach is the best on the island and was only 5 mins wal if that. We walked into the town (about 25 mins steady walk each way) each night. Only a couple of descent resturants Willys, Topatoto and the Pizza resturant up the town. The Pizza Hut and KFC are good and food is fresh.
we would not go again but I recognise that I got a bit less than I paid for.
Transfere was good we used Resorthopper well worth a try.
Advice: Yes

Good for: Beach
