A country relaxation gem!
This is exactly the sort of hotel which gives Relais & Chateau a good name. We booked a celebratory weekend stay in one of their Master bedrooms which was expensive but wonderful. Service throughout the hotel was extremely friendly AND efficient, two things which don't always go together. The room was perfect with a view over Warwickshire countryside. We ate both nights in the Michelin starred restaurant which at 55 GBP each for the a la carte menu was stunning value for food that was of the finest standard- what would they have to do for a... more
good in parts
We booked a cheap deal through last minute and knew we were getting one of the new and modern rooms over the brasserie in a seperate building. It was okay but badly designed particularly the bathroom which was tiny with a fixed bath screen so my wife could not reach round to get to the taps. When I got out of the bath she had to move to the bedroom- no space for two to stand. The bedroom was okay in size and they could have sacrificed a foot of width from there to make the bath room just big enough. Simple. Dinner in the Brasserie... more
Birthday lunch
This hotel was recommended by an acquaintance on my request for information on high quality dining venues in the area south of Birmingham and convenient for Solihull. Before booking we went to enquire and found all the staff utterley charming and helpful. We saw the two restaurants and settled on the main dining room, because the brasserie was too bistro-like for a main occasion. We arrived on the 28th November and were a little disconcerted to find we were the only party dining that lunch time. I am pleased to say that we had... more
cramped
I contacted the hotel directly and then booked through their website. They could not find the resevation when we arrived, but I had a copy and they (luckily) still had rooms. The room we were given (the Broughton) was extremely small and cramped. Furnishings were elegant throughout and well maintained. Common areas were limited and tight. Considering the price and the hopes we had for a Chateau & Relais, we were disappointed. LG
Highly, highly recommended
I went with a party of 10 people of a wide age range for an important celebration. The hotel could not have been more accommodating, helpful and welcoming. The rooms were extremely well decorated, modern and clean. Sumptious in fact. The chef was magnificent and is one of Raymond Blanc's prodigies - the front of house was also very welcoming and eager to help. There is also a new brasserie if you want a change of scenery. It is the sort of hotel that can be what you want it to be - it is just as easy to be romantic there as it is to be... more
A gem.
Stayed 1 night on the seasonal promotion rate of £225 per room for Dinner B&B for 2 people in a master bedroom in the main house. Beautiful traditional spacious room in english country decor. Excellent Dinner in the 1 Star Michelin resuarant. All very quiet and tranquil. We will stay here again.
What a cracker
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and the food was wonderful. We had paid extra for a deluxe room and it was well worth it. The hotel had a lovely intimate feel to it as well as an old fashioned quality feel. Will definately return.
Great you can mix business and pleasure
I stayed at the Mallory on the 27th and 28th of April and also used the business facilities. It is a wonderful venue with great staff. The food was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. A very relaxing and productive meeting. My meeting only had 5 deligates but the Mallory can cater for much larger numbers thanks to the mordern suite it has built recently. Great accessability from the M40 (Jct13)
Restored my faith!
My faith is restored! After years of searching for a decent country house hotel we have found one, quite by accident. My husband who has a business in Birmingham receieved an invitation to the launch of the hotels new £3M event centre and when he came home he wouldn't stop talking about it. We bundled the kids off to Grandma and booked ourselves in and all we can say is wow! The food was amazing and our room was luxurious and spotlessly clean - the hotel was immaculately presented and serviced by keen enthusiastic (if a bit young!)... more
Stunning Hotel,poor service
The hotel and gardens are really beautiful. We stayed in the newer rooms which, although part of an extension, blend in perfectly with the old building. Our room was stunning, with wonderful designer fabrics and furniture- alovely combination of traditional and contemporary. Food was fantastic, but the service was dreadful. I was told they had problems with illness etc at the time so would have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Would definitely go back for a weekend break.
