Well I cant believe some of the comments I have just read.We are both over 70 and it is the first time we have been to this hotel and for us it was the best..variety of food at breakfast was wonderful,we tried everything, cold food cereals. never seen so much different types of things to eat.
Dinner time was the same, you would be hard pressed to not find some-thing to eat,and the displays...
I was amazed to find on a sunday you could even have smoked salmon and Champagne(Cava). The staff were so friendly too and I looked for dirt in the rooms(didnt find any) I thought the beach and the lawn heaven,to lie there and just look at the sea did it for us.The air con worked a treat too.
If there are only two people how big do you need your balcony?
I do agree the 4th floor is great for views....I found everything wonderful.thank you every-one you looked after us well.
We didnt want to come home..dont take any notice of the bad views you read, thank goodness I didnt read them before we went we would have missed this great hotel.
And yes there were lots of germans who put there towels on the beds.but the hotel take them off if you put them there before 8 am its a new rule.

We returned from the Los Principes on the 11th August after two lovely hot weeks there, and not for the first time; that was our fourth visit over the last 9 years and I am sure it won’t be our last. We are a family of four with children aged 22 and 18 still tagging along. We love the place it’s like our second home. It does seem to be mainly Germans, but some are very friendly, many of them like ourselves returning year after year stopping up late and socialising with us. We see a lot of familiar faces each time we go.
It’s perfectly situated directly on the beach of Munro, with only a footstep out of the hotel garden and you’re on the golden sand. The sea is very safe and crystal clear, perfect for young children. The beach front bar is nice to sit at looking out over Alcudia Bay with a glass of Sangria in one hand! In previous years we have hired sun beds on the beach as we found there wasn’t enough sun beds in the hotel grounds available, but we never had that problem this year and managed to find a sun bed and space every day and that was without getting up at 7am, normally between 9 and 10. There are a few trees in the grounds which provide shade in the afternoon which can be greatly appreciated.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are cleaned daily. There was one day where one of our rooms were missed but a quick call to reception and it was sorted straight away. This year we were lucky enough to be placed on the fourth floor over looking the pool and out to sea.
The food is very good; there is always plenty of choice you would never go hungry, with show cooking taking place both at breakfast and evening meal, with dishes being constantly refilled. The displays in the restaurant are pretty impressive too all made from food and very detailed.
Entertainment could be better. During the day the hotel has its own entertainment crew keeping all the children happy and busy, I think there have been better crews in previous years but overall they do a great job. Evening entertainment was ok I would defiantly recommend you to watch out for Liam Live who does a tribute to Robbie Williams and We Will Rock You, they where very professional.
Los Principes is a very friendly hotel the staff are always happy to help, and make your stay even more enjoyable, they have remembered our faces each time we’ve been back over the years and always want to chat. Even members of staff who have left and gone to work else would often call in to see us on an evening.
All in all we have never had a bad time at this hotel and it will be a hotel we’ll always visit for years to come.

Been back from this hotel a couple of weeks now and came across the ratings on here. I just had to disagree with the latest one on here, I thought the hotel was wonderful! Was super clean, staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful, food was lovely. There really was not a thing I could have complained about!
I have even looked at booking again there for next year. There were a lot of Germans there but it is a German hotel isn't it! Also Germans seem to have higher standards than us Brits so we figured we would be ok there, which was an understatement.
All in all I would definately go back. You can grab a sunbed and be less than 50 steps from both the beach and the pool!
5 out of 5 definately.

Disappointing stay at this hotel. First Choice made this out to be a high class hotel. It really is no more than a 2 or 3 star at best.
The food option was not really worthwhile as it rarely changed. Even on the speciality nights the same old food was there! The staff were great, very pleasant.
There were many nationalities there but mainly Germans. I really don’t understand why they have to get up at the crack of dawn to get the sun beds.
This really is a big hotel in very small grounds. There are nowhere near enough sun beds available. Also, it is not in the nicest part of Playa de Muro.
The entertainment was very very poor and not aimed at the Brits much. I am not looking for a Blackpool in the Sun hotel, but it would be nice to go to a hotel where all nationalities get along without the arrogance of the Germans spoiling it.
All in all, whilst it was a tidy clean hotel it is not one I would recommend anyone staying at.
If you have booked, cancel and if you haven’t booked yet, use your money elsewhere and book a holiday anywhere but here!
First Choice are normally good but I was really disappointed with this hotel.

This hotel is an excellent place to go on holiday with the beach (perfect condition, clean, golden) only a stones throw away its ideal for people of any age. The rooms are great the only bad point is the mini-bar because when small children are on the holiday the temperature is hot to say the least and a nice cool bottle of water would be welcomed but it is not possible.
The food in the Los Principes Hotel is exquisite! The selection is astonishing. It doesn't matter what your particular preferences are they can accommodate. The breakfast will more than fill you up and the dinner is brilliant with a wide variety. 1 word of warning check the ice-cream on certain days! Lemon sorbet ewww!!
The staff are very helpful and friendly and can help keep even the most active of children happy (me) There are a range of sports you can try, from rifle shooting to volleyball, water-polo to table tennis. The possibilities are endless. there is even a gym fully air-conditioned with a spa and sauna opposite.
There is one negative point to make about Grupotel Los Principes and that is the night-time entertainment. If you decide to stay in the grounds bring some cards or something as the entertainment is often tedious and for kids.
i hope this review helps.

Party: two adults & one 13 year old boy.
Positioned in a relatively quiet area but with plenty of shops and bars to suit all tastes within easy walking distance & Alcudia centre a short bus ride away.
Situated right on a wonderful clean sandy beach (cleaned every day) the overall position for us as a family was 10/10.
The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful with excellent language skills.
Our room was extremely well presented very clean and spacious, my only criticism is that, being situated to the rear side the view was poor and the balcony small, so we did not utilize this facility. (I think I would try to ensure a room overlooking the beach & pool area if I returned).
We were allocated the same table for breakfast & dinner for all of our holiday and each morning & evening were greeted by the charming restaurant manager & his staff, Anna our waitress could not have given us better service.
The food was excellent, breakfast selection was vast from cereal, toast, yoghurts, fresh fruits and hot food to suit every pallet.
We had to dress for dinner which was nice as it created an atmosphere of respectfulness from everyone, the food again was excellent, so many choices from the buffet style service, rating 10/10.
The swimming pools, steam & fitness rooms were excellently equipped and in good condition. We did not use all the facilities available.
Entertainment. During the day there was a full entertainment program for both adults and children which was excellent if you wished to take part or just sit and watch and the 2 girls and 2 boys worked extremely hard to ensure everyone was happy and catered for.
Evening entertainment would attract our only serious criticism.
Again the entertainment staff worked really hard but I think that there should have been a more professional entertainment program than we experienced. Once the organized entertainment had finished there was little else to do, and I think that the guests would have appreciated some audience participation even if only in the form of a dance area.
Rating 6/10
The majority of guests were German with Spanish, French, Swedish (hello Annetta) & English seemingly making up the rest. The mix of nationalities was good and many friends were made so hello to Ian, Tina, Liam, Danny, Lutz & Einer.
Our overall impression is that of a well run friendly and clean hotel and well worth a try.

Having spent the first week of our holiday cruising on Island escape, it had a lot to live up to.
After a fabulous, exhausting week on board we were looking forward to chilling out. I have never had such a disappointing holiday in my life. I usually want to stay on when the holiday is over. I was desperate to get home.
At a glance the Hotel is of good standard otherwise I would have only rated it 1. We were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary and paid a bit more than we would normally have.
The food was terrible, there were a lot of German guest and the food seemed to be aimed at pleasing them. I like a full cooked breakfast, we had to settle for toast and egg. Two types of German sausage were on offer every day, scrambled eggs were orange. My husband tried them and said the were awful, bacon was wafer thin and mostly fat. All cold meats were of the German variety.
It took us three days to get coffee with our breakfast, we didn’t know you had to get it from the waiter and the were very scarce at breakfast. Dinner was the same, every night the speciality was pork served a different way, oh no wait a minute they had veal one night. I like neither.
Other items on the menu were mostly dishes I had never heard of and looked like a dogs dinner. I take that back my dog is fed better. The main concession to the British was chips every night they weren’t even good chips they were either burned or soggy. trays of food were not replenished very often, so if you did find something you liked it was often needing replaced. Desserts were decent but you had to fight your way past the Germans to get to them.
Everything you bought in the hotel was put on your tab you just gave your room number. I prefer to pay upfront. We did this on the ship but we knew about that before we went.
Our bedroom was the biggest disappointment. It was not cleaned to the standard we expected. Scuffmarks on the floor that a bit of elbow grease would have lifted, stained bedcovers, we had to wipe our own balcony table. we emptied our ashtray every day but the maid never washed it. We left our room very tidy every day so it wasn’t as if we gave her extra work. There was no bidet in the bathroom this is the first Spanish hotel I have stay in without one, no big deal but I would have expected it in a four star hotel.
The day before we left the maid took away our dirty towels but only left us one bath towel between us. The hairdryer was just a hose in the bathroom with very little power. If you like a good blow dry best to bring your own.
The balcony was a big let down, it was tiny and had a view onto the back of a pub. you had to be at the front of the hotel to get a decent size and view. We thought because the hotel was on the beach we would at least get a sea view, only if you stretched your neck.
Entertainment was naff but we expected that from reading another review site. (whose reviews recommended this hotel) Personally I think you would only like it if you were German, they had the best rooms and the food was catered to their tastes.
I was disappointed with the resort too. It is not Alcudia, it is Playa de Muro. To get to Alcudia you have to walk for at least half an hour with nothing in between except private houses, and it wasn’t even worth the walk. The area surrounding the hotel is better but I couldn’t get over not having a promenade as hotels and houses are directly onto the beach.
Nightlife was poor with half empty bars and little entertainment. maybe if we had walked further into Alcudia it would have been better but it was too far away.
I don’t think I am hard to please I have stayed at two and three star hotels which are far superior and this is the first time I have ever been disappointed with my accommodation and resort.
