Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for a wedding. It was a very large wedding and that would be my only gripe with the hotel. The function room was too small to adequately accommodate the large crowd, guests were cramped in the tables and the sirloin steak which was part of the mains was not cooked properly to taste, steak knives (or indeed and knives) were not provided and this was a problem. I returned a year later to this hotel with my husband, im originally from Limerick but living in england and Had such an enjoyable stay last year could not even imagine to stay elsewhere. we were not disappointed although unfortunately the friendliness of staff has dropped espcially in timmy macs bistro. the staff are friendly but nothing compared to the staff of our last visit with great local staff and so friendly. in general the hotel has improved and certainly deserve to be a 4 star hotel. well done to ye on such a great friendly place... more

We had stayed here 3 years ago so we were familiar with the area. We chose this hotel again because it is an easy drive from Shannon airport, we also chose to stay here again on our way back from County Kerry to Shannon airport. All of the employees were very friendly, from the receptionists,bartenders, and the employees working at Timmy Macs. The hotel grounds are beautiful with the daffodils in bloom, but the inside is in need of updating especially the carpet. I understand they have a new spa, but we didn't get a chance to see it.
