Just returned from a week all inclusive at the hotel. Room's are very basic but spotless and were cleaned every day. Pool quite small but nice accept was very cold in the morning's. The staff were extremeley friendly. The hotel it's self was near to both the shops and the BIG downside to this hotel was the choice and quality of the food. No real choice for the children. Food was warm and tasteless. Entertainment was poor due to the fact that even though they had a stage by the pool outside the manegeress moved all acts inside to the bar area. All staff were fantastic accepet the woman in charge. We had just handed our room key in after a week of paying for all inclusive. We went to use the free water dispencer when the manergeress came and told us that the water was for all inclusive guest's only. We would return to the holtel if the food was better. We would reccomend this hotel to anyone who was just going room only.

Have just come back from 10 days staying the Hotel Alcudia and we can certainly say that we have no complaints about this Hotel. It is well situated within the resort for the bars/restaurants and the beach (5-10 minute stroll) The local bus stop is only 5 minutes away where you can go to Palma for 5euro (we went 3 times) We also caught the local bus to Soller (8euro) for a 2hr 40m journey through the mountains, an absolute bargain, we then came back on the train via Palma. Porta Pollensa is only 20 minutes away by bus for 1euro 25cent. The Hotel is so well suituated for sightseeing . Back to the Hotel itself, we found the staff extremely helpful and special mention should be made to Rafael who was very friendly and helpful, as were all the other staff. Room was adequate, clean and comfortable (if you want 5***** pay for it !) Towels were changed every other day and the bedding got changed regularly with the beds made daily for us on our return after the day. Cleanliness was certainly not a problem, the only comment I would make is that the bathroom was getting slightly tierd looking but was clean. I am unable to comment about the pool as we did not use it - but I've seen worse. There were no problems with the food - plenty of choice and we were the 8pm sitting. Thought at first that this was a bit late but after 2 nights we actually enjoyed having a longer day out and about before having to go to dinner. All in all we would recommend this Hotel as a good base to see the beautiful island of Majorca, can't rave about the bus services enough, frequent and value for money.

Was pretty worried about some of the reviews before arrival. Have to admit that we had a great holiday.
Staff were excellent ; friendly helpful and appreciated any attempt to speak a bit of Spanish (quite badly in our case)
Close to the beach - only five minutes down the street. The Beach is great and ideal for kids.
The food was plentiful and varied with breakfast especially good for choice. Evening meal time was a bit of a bun fight on a couple of occasions. The problem being guests queuing up twenty minutes or so before their allocated time causing a bottle neck at the stairs and a mini stampeded when they were allowed in. Ate out on two occasions to avoid this.
The lunch time snacks were good value compared to the pricers of the beach side bars and worth the walk back from the beach
Activities for the kids were fine and they loved the pool although I would agree that it is slightly cramped around the side with the sunbeds right next to the pool but with the weather up in the 30's the odd splash came as a welcome relief.
The room was on the ground floor more or less next to reeption and we initially thought this may be an issue with people coming past and banging suitcases on the stairs but it actually worked out really well as it very handy for popping back and forward to the room quickly.
The Entertainment was adequate and exactly what you would expect from a 3 star Hotel and ran on a two week cycle so there were no repeat performances. Our kids are 11 and 9 and made new friends of similar ages and suggest the Hotel is more suited for families. I did notice that young couples looked a bit uncomfortable with the amount of kids having a great time by jumping, diving/bombing into the pool (along with some of their parents!)
Great family holiday overall.

Well we have just returned from a week at the Hotel Alcudia and I must say I was very impressed. All the reviews I have read are mixed but to anyone wanting a good value for money hotel with everything you need then this is the place. The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough. (on our last day the receptionist hugged us all and saw us to our minibus). The food was varied with plenty of choice, if you don't like the mains there was always cold meats with plenty of salad. The pool area was the one thing I read so many reviews on, well let me just say it was small but for the hotel size was reasonable, yes the sunbeds were close to the pool and you may get the odd splash but when your baking in the sun who would complain about a drop of water. Yes there was a lot of towels in the mornings but as i say to anyone, they can be moved if the offender is not there. The entertainment was pretty good too, abba tribute night, gymnast night and quiz night to name a few. The kids club was never used by us but my son loved the kids disco at night and the park. Many of the visitors we spoke to were happy with the hotel and some were on their second or more visit. The location was really good too with the beach a 5min walk and a varied array of shops/bars etc. The marina is lovely as well and a look round the yachts is a must. Finally the rooms were comfortable and exactly as you'd expect for a 3 star hotel. Highly Recommend to everyone!!

Very mixed feelings about this Hotel.
Family of 4 with two kids aged 9 and 11.
Let me start by outlining the positives. (Same as some of those listed below to be honest)
The Hotel itself was very clean with fresh towels daily and bed linen changed twice per week.
Hotel staff very friendly and approachable and took the time to make conversation. (Mainly Bar staff and were very good with the kids)
Food was ok . ChIcken. Meat, Fish, Vegetable dishes so generally something for everyone. No themed nights tho . Been in other Hotels which organised specific nights and posted menu's beforehand but not here. Kids also struggled a little. Breakffast I have to say was very good offering full fry up, continental, fresh fruit etc.
Entertainment was good. All the usual activities including pistol and rifle shooting, archery, killer darts, pool, table tennis, water polo, Petanque. Evening entertainment was generally ok as well. Not the usual kids club tho where you sign the kids in and out and get a couple hours on your own. They tended to participate in all the sports listed above.
Also found Hotel prices very good considering the exchange rate at the time (1.22 Euro to the Pound).
Pint of lager 2.3 Euro and btl wine 5.6 Euro.
Hotel Location was excellent with a 5 minute walk to the harbor and beach.
So the negatives.
The room was very poor indeed. Soon as I opened the door I went back down to reception to try and get a move. We were in a single room, two single beds together with a set of bunks in the corner. No way was this a family room. Not a good start to the holiday.
The pool area was a joke. Packed in like Sardines with literally no room to move. The pool itself was far to small for the amount of people utilizing it. With the amount of older kids jumping in from the side I'm surprised that smaller kids were not landed on. No poolside attendant.
Set up for eating was extremely poor. Dining area was to small for the amount of people in the hotel. At breakfast it was difficult sometimes to get a table. Soon as somebody left it was grab a seat and then wait for the staff to clean and reset the table (which they did very well by the way). We had to go up and get the food in pairs to prevent anybody from pinching the table.
Dinner was the same which was operated on a two sitting basis. Never did I go for dinner and didn't have to queue for food. When we left at 8pm the queue for the 2nd sitting was unbelievable. Glad I wasn't on that sitting. Ate out a few times as we just didn't fancy the repetitiveness.
Overall would need to agree with previous posts that the Hotel was on the poor side.

On the plus side, the hotel is very clean and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Also, it's well situated - near the beach and about 15 minutes walk from Alcudia old town, the Roman ruins etc, and the bus stops to Puerto Pollensa, Palma and so on.
However, our room was very small indeed, and in addition to two single beds crammed together, there was a bunk bed for the children. The balcony overlooked the main road and was so small that two of us couldn't stand on it without considerable manoevring of the small table and 2 chairs that were on it. It became clear after chatting with fellow holiday makers that we'd drawn the short straw and that ours was a particularly small room, but that was cold comfort at the time. Especially as we'd all paid more or less the same.
The pool area is very small indeed, and overcrowded in high season. Sunbathers lie cheek by jowl with complete strangers like a row of sausages in a pan, and the pool itself isn't adequate for the number of people in the hotel.
We thought the food was quite good - the fresh fruit and vegetables in particular, although the organisation of the evening meal left a little to be desired.
One of the reasons we'd chosen the Alcudia Hotel was that the brochure mentioned a kids club. Disappointingly, this was a large hut and a play area where adult supervision, particularly of very young children, was a necessity. There were no structured activities for kids, and the lady who oversaw the facilities had her own baby to look after.
Our kids (6 and 9) tried to take part in some of the adult daytime activities, but frequently found it difficult as the equipment was al full size. The Entertainment host, Alex, was good, and did his best with the limited space around the hotel that he has to work in.
The beach is great - SOOOOO much nicer than the pool, and there are plenty of good restaurants about. All in all, we'd go back to Alcudia in the future....but not to this hotel.

Great holiday and hotel!! Booked this hotel through Alpha rooms for just £370 HB for a family of four (not including flights obviously) and... what a great deal and a quite a lovely little hotel.
Room was basic and a little shaded but thats all I could really complain about (after a couple of days it felt like our own anyway). Food was great, staff were naturally very friendly, reception was extremely organised and we checked in and out in no more than 10 minutes each time. Location is ideal, lots of places to eat and close to the beach and Port. Bus service is cheap and regular, also taxi rank is close by. Reccomend you book airport transfers with a company called Resort Hopper. First time we have used this company and it was so easy. After you collect your cases there is a desk just through departures where someone greets you in english and directs you to the coach. Quick call to them 24hrs before and you know your pick up time for departure.
The best thing about Hotel Alcudia is Alex, in charge of entertainment, what a very funny man!! Throughout the day we felt drawn to play such simple games that had us in fits of laughter. . . thank you : ) XXxx

Myself and my partner took our five year old here in mid may and were told that kids clubs operated from May 1st and that there were mini discos at night. On arrival the hotel was clean and tidy, location ideal, within 5 minutes from beach and restraunts, however room v basic...no fridge or kettle. Few families with kids, mainly over 50's. Kids club shut and disco consisting of johnny cash!!! Staff were great and friendly but NOT IDEAL FOR YOUNG FAMILIES!!

We arrived late and was not welcomed like a new family arriving for our holiday, it was like we were annoying the receptionist by arriving late, a buffet was available as dinner was over. We went for the buffet to find salad (left out in the heat) and some chips left warm in a metal heater, that is it. The room was terrible, ripped light shade and no tv remote (tv, the smallest portable you can get), no fridge or kettle. We had to lift the buggy over the kids beds to get it in the room door!!!! One paper thin pillow per bed, hard bed. Food not great, kids only eat chips, no ordinary food for them, just chips. Meal time was like a herd of pigs grabbing what they can get, staff awful and very unfriendly, it was like they didnt want us there. The tables were not cleared for new guests coming in for dinner. Most nights I cleared a table for us and went hunting for cutlery!!! No water provided with dinner, you had to buy it!!! The sunbeds was another laugh, at around 6 - 7am you could here running up and down corridors, this was guests running to the pool and claiming their beds by leaving beach towels down, a rat race!!!! The hotel is located close enough to the local beaches and shops. I wont be going here again.
