Macdonald St Pauls Hotel Sheffield reviews

This truly is a stunning hotel. We stayed over following a wedding reception. Couldn't fault the ambience or the room. All were immaculately clean. I've marked it down for the bar & restaurant costs. Breakfast was £16 a head - we went to Cafe Nero 20 yards away. Bar prices... more

Great location & comfort
This hotel is in my home town, so I had never stayed there - for obvious reasons. Booked for a business weekend by colleagues. Excellent, welcoming staff and very comfortable rooms indeed. Meals pricey, but the hotel is about as central as it gets, so there is lots of choice around. The spa facilities are superb. The hotel is built between the Peace Gardens and Winter Gardens- one glass wall overlooks the latter which gives a relaxing ambiance. The bar has a somewhat lurid, constantly-changing colour display, though it is... more
Rubbish Breakfast, great views
This hotel it's self is lovely, the rooms are furbished very tastefully and clean. The highlight is the floor to ceiling windows meaning you can watch people go about their daily business from your bed! The best location in Sheffield and the staff where very professional and helpful. As a former resident of the city I parked the car in a residential area and took public transport in to town, I could see how parking would be difficult, but it is always difficult to park in the city. I would recommend making use of the park and tram... more
Fantastic view!
I stayed here for i night on a special room rate deal of a £100.00. It was worth every penny! i was on the 5th floor over looking the peace gardens, and wow what a view. The room was clean spacious , a little bit cold but it was just for i night. I didnt have a chance to go in the spa, but plenty of people seemed to be using it. The staff were polite and very friendly, i would be happy to stay here again.
Loce this hotel
Arrived at this hotel with low expectations after staying previous weeks at the Novotel and the Park Inn (been working from Sheffield a lot recently). I found the hotel very easily and parked out front. Valet then took my car to the carpark and I went into reception to check in. Reception area is very nice and the staff are very pleasant. Checked in with no problems and went straight up to my room which I loved. Absolutely nothing to even slightly complain about. The bed was comfortble, the room was sparkling clean and the air... more
Decent City-Centre Hotel with Great Facilities; Restaurant Needs to Improve
We stayed in Sheffield overnight on a weekend visit to Chatsworth House, which is about 45 minutes away by bus (although I found this out on the internet – when I called the hotel about transport to Chatsworth House, I was told there is no public transportation). The hotel is fairly new and connected to the winter garden. The rooms are comfortable and similar to most business hotels (which was fine). A stand-out feature of the hotel is the gym in the basement and, on the floor below that, the pool / sauna area. It’s as nice... more
Great Rooms, Great Spa, Great Staff...just a few nigles
Great hotel, stylish with attentive staff and affordable prices. I particularly recommend the Junior Suites, which for the marginalm extra cost are well worth it. Room 433 is my favorite. Minor gripes are about detail, last time I stayed the Internet connection did not work, this time the lights in the room were faulty. The spa is worth a special mention, witha gym, a goo pool, saunas and steam rooms. Breakfasts too are good.
Simply the best
Simply the best I stayed here about 12 months ago and was very disappointed. I thought I would not return. But my company booked me in here and I am really glad that they did. WOW! Have things changed and all for the best. You can tell the manager has really got a keen eye for standards and service. When I arrived I was greeted with a friendly smiling face of the concierge. After sorting out parking and checking into my room (Clean comfortable and very spacious) I decided to treat myself to the Spa facility. It is excellent... more
Fantastic Spa Facilities
We stayed at St. Paul's for my hen du at the end of July and I have to say I was very impressed! We booked via a spa package website and received an excellent deal which included overnight stay,a free treatment, full use of the spa facilites, afternoon tea (with finger sandwiches, pasteries and chocolate fountain), evening meal and a full english breakfast. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable and the hotel staff really looked after us. The Spa facilites are amazing, we were so relaxed by the end of it all and really enjoyed... more
