Alma Di Alghero Hotel Reviews
Feb 2006, Mrs J Warlow
Stayed here 3 nights. Easy to get to from the airport...less than 1 euro on the airport bus. The hotel is on the beach front and about 15 mins walk to the 'old town'. From the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is small but excellent.... more

Outstanding Place to stay in Alghero
from travellersbitburg
Outstanding Place to stay in Alghero. Outstanding customer service, Breakfast and rooms. 2 Minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to the Old City. Definitely will book with them next time we visit Alghero.
Nice option for north sardegna
from hans2006
Hotel Alma is a great place if you´re on a budget. It´s a very well kept Hotel. Staff is very great and helpful, we booked directly on their official website and they give us a early chek-in. We recomand this Hotel, is´t a resort but near city centre and right on the beach.
Nice Facility in a good location
from Counterweight
My wife and I spent 4 nights here in late November. We booked in here based on good reviews we read on TripAdvisor. There's not a lot open in the down season on Sardinia, in terms of hotels, restaurants, attractions, but we found the Alma di Alghero to be a good base for exploring the island. The location is good, it's an easy walk to get to old town Alghero and it's pretty easy to get around to the rest of the island from the Alma. We did day trips to Bosa, Villanoval Monteleone and Santa Teresa di Gallura from Alghero, and they were all reasonable and enjoyable trips from Alghero. The staff was excellent, they provided us with lots of good recommendations for trips, restaurants, and anything else we needed while we were there. The breakfast was also quite nice, there was a wide selection of baked goods, breakfast meats, fruits, yogurt, and hot drinks. The overall facility was clean and well kept, though as noted in some previous reviews the walls are a bit thin. I wouldn't call the Alma di Alghero a luxury hotel, but it is a decent facility for the price and should definitely be considered if you're looking for a reasonably-priced, well-positioned hotel for Sardinian getaway
Perfect Location
from Online-Buy
This was my secound stay. The location is fantastic, right on the beach. The centre of the town is only 15 min away (walk). The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was great. The staff were very helpful. The hotel has a smal bar but no restaurant. There are plenty of places to go to in walking distance from the hotel where to have a drink and food. Definitely recommended.

Lovely/homely hotel
from PeteEdwards
Stayed in The Alma for a week in October 2006 & the hotel was very clean & welcoming. I mostly remember how friendly & accomodating the staff were & how efficient they were. The place was spotless & the breakfast spread was very impressive for a 3 Star place. Nice 10 minute stroll to the harbour also. Very reasonable price in comparison to other hotels in the town. A very good overral package. Pete Edwards & Wendy O'Callaghan.
Great Hotel, Lovely Place
from Sue-liverpool
We stayed at the Alma for one week from the 13th of October. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The rooms are very spacious and the breakfast is ample. The hotel is situated in a great spot, 15mins walk from to the Old Town and 10 mins walk to lovely beaches (the beach directly opposite isn't that great. I would definately stay at this hotel again if I were to visit the area again.
Good first night hotel
from weberfamily
We stayed here 9 October after arriving late at Alghero airport. The hotel was really easy to get to, only about 15 minutes from the airport. Our room was very spacious, with view of sea, and extremely clean. The manager on duty spoke good English and was really helpful, telling us about the facilities and giving us maps and information about Alghero. We parked in the hotel yard, although there was an extra charge for this. Breakfast the next morning (included in price) was very good. We walked in to have a look at the town - took about 15 minutes. The old town is very pretty, although the area where the hotel is located is not particularly attractive. Altogether this was a great hotel to spend a first night in, as it was so accessible from the airport and so easy to get out of town the next day to see the rest of the island.
its the people not the hotel
from MidlifecrisisMil
Just returned from a seven day stay at the hotel. It was located about 15mins walk from the centre of the old town - an easy stroll in the evening - and only had to cross a road to get to the beach. The staff were without exception wonderful friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean bright and airy but if we have to choose niggles probably didnt have sufficient drawers or coat hangers for that length of stay. The shower was also brilliant. Breakfast was served in the "basement" which wasnt a dingy dungeon but a very pleasant room and contained sufficient variety of food to suit all palates and there was always lots of it. We agree however that there was some noise on some nights in the hotel but the noise is the people not the hotel we think that a lot of people come and go (ie only have short one or two day stays) and so there is a lot of movement. It would not put us off going back there. There are lots of places to eat in the old town for fish, pizza, pasta and would recommend - Cassandra, Bella Novello. There is also a restaurant further out of town which serves pizzas by the metre and which is cheap to eat at. Dont bother with the restaurants on the front of the town walls as they are more expensive and not worth the price. As to the Island it is beautiful and the weather for the whole of the week was also excellent (around 24 degrees each day) but cooled off in the evening so take a jumper or cardi at this time of year. Hire a car to get around as there is lots to see. Recommend seeing Caves of Neptune (by boat is best) beaches at Porticculo, Lazarette, Porto Ferro, a trip to Bosa (town and Marina but town is best) Argentiera (just for the old mine workings which look like something from the wild west) and Stintino and its beaches. Dont bother with Sassari there is very little there.
Location, Staff, Location

Stayed for a weekend in a triple room - staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. As others have said the rooms are very clean and new. Its location by the beach and a 15-20 min walk (there are buses as well) into town is ideal. The beach is great, the surrounding area is a bit more hit and miss - rubble strewn wasteground and lots of rennovation / buidling going on. Overall it's a great place to stay ....... OK no views really to speak of but in about 30 seconds you're on the beach facing fantastic sunsets.

What a nightmare. When we arrived 1am in the morning we were dumped in the basement, known to some of the guests who also had the pleasure of staying over night in the "dungeons". In the morning we were told that one of our rooms would be ready at 11am and the other at 2pm.... more
