Colossos Beach Hotel Reviews
" Have just come back from 14 day stay... "
Submitted By: Mrs K James
Have just come back from 14 day stay at this hotel. There is plenty to do. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel we went to Lindos and Rhodes using the public service. 1.7 Euro single to Rhodes which is a pittance compared to the reps prices. Everyone is crammed on like sardines.
On arrival at the station in Rhodes (Rhodes) connections to any where on the island can be made. Try the Island of the Butterflies not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs because of the steps leading up through the valley as it is shaded it is slightly cooler than the rest of the island but you will still need some water to drink which can be brought from the shop nearby.
The hotel is large and caters for most tastes, food is available all day, tea and cakes from 4.30 until 5.30 and sandwiches in the evening. Try the b-b-q by the beach its great. They serve mint sauce with Pork! The rice pudding is lovely. Ice cream on tap
Take plenty of a good insect repellant as we have numerous bites after using Tesco own brand which the mosquitoes seemed to thrive on.
There was a sea breeze most of the time so the temperatures did not feel much like the 35+ C in the day and 25 in the evening. The entertainment was organised by the Animacion team which was mainly geared towards the children. There are 4 bars we enjoyed the Central bar with a balcony with views of the stage and the pool area and Faliraki at night. Pimms was on the menu but not available. The beds are hard but the pillows are soft. The staff are friendly and helpful. The toilets are typical Greek.
Faliraki was like a mini Blackpool.

" A. A. Absolutely Amazing place and... "

A. A. Absolutely Amazing place and people. The animation team, who are the entertainers, were brilliant at their job, children of all ages and adults adored them, they had this ability to remember peoples names, and there’s a lot of people there.
Hotel was spotless and food was brilliant with a great selection of dishes. Loved it so much I told a friend about it and we've booked up to go there again this year. Greeks are the friendliest people I’ve ever met, I'd love to be one of them.

" This hotel is absolutely first class!... "

This hotel is absolutely first class! The location is fantastic and scenery from my room was brilliant.
Food was very good with a lot of choice; they had everything from stone baked pizzas, pasta, salmon, beef, lamb the list goes on. I work for Thomson the travel company and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in.
The staff are brilliant and the entertainment team are amazing kids will never be bored and neither will you!
I’m going back September definitely! Fantastic!

" Allocated this hotel as our original... "

Allocated this hotel as our original choice was double booked. After a mix up when we were given a three bed room by mistake we were then given a ground floor family room that was very clean and quite spacious although the fridge did not work. They did replace it though!
Our children were 13 and 10 at the time and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Food was very good and there was always something on the menu that the children liked (particularly the lunch time menu!). All the staff were very friendly. As we were all inclusive we expected to have to queue for everything but this was not the case!
Evening entertainment was very good - usually starting with kids disco, then bingo, then something different every night. Shopping centre about 10 minutes walk away and the kids loved the water park which was 5 minutes from our hotel. The entertainment staff were very friendly and there was always something going on - water polo, aqua aerobics etc.
Nice selection of bars in the hotel - although you had to pay for the hotel night club. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and as a family we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. I just wish we could afford to go this year!

This hotel was a lovely place to stay and relax.
Its for all ages with fun things for the kids to do in the day and activities for the adults at night.
The hotels rep was very entertain and always pleasant and polite.
The hotel has everything you need and its own shop so you never need leave.
Faliraki town is a five minute taxi ride and only cost five euros and despite all the bad publicity about Faliraki town I saw people just having a good time.
The hotel is right on the beach and there is plenty of water sports to keep you entertained.
I really enjoyed my stay here and I would not hesitate to return.

The lift doors opened and I thought I’d entered an Ashtray, I then walked a long way to our room only to open the door and to be hit by a very strong smell of 'Must', it felt like a morgue. The room was dark and uncomfortable, so I returned to reception and spoke with the receptionist who wasn't very helpful so I spoke to the duty manager (Front Of House Manager) he turned around to me and said "you have a bath, a balcony, a shower and a double bed what else do you want?" my reply was simple "a clean fresh smelling room" they then told me that they only had twins left! So I rang the non helpful Thompson 24/7 help line! Who after 30mins on the phone to them managed to change our room.
So we thought great it should be good now! How wrong were we! Walking to the lift on the far side of the hotel. On getting to the lift we found that the doors would shut on you and that the skirts on the lift floor were raised and dangerous! Then we got to the room, it too smelt musty but not as bad! It was bigger and brighter though! Then I found a live electric wire hanging out of the wall and that the TV didn't have an on/off button, the room had loads of cracks and the fridge was mouldy and when we tried to have a shower the sealant was mouldy and damaged and then from who knows where the bathroom flooded! So I rang to reception and they sent a cleaner to mop up the leak and no one to repair it very strange!
As for the Animation team... they didn't do anything apart from sun themselves, drink, chat up the women oh and break the swimming pool rules by chucking people in;and as for what they call evening entertainment... Well it was funny! When I say funny I don’t mean the show I mean the people it was a joke! The costumes were crap the acting was crap! Can’t believe they can get away with calling it Entertainment!
Well on to a lighter note, the food wasn't to bad after all, at their max they're cooking for more than 2000 people and that takes some doing, but they could do with better descriptions for describing the food!
The hotel is in an average site with Rhodes and Water Park not far away! Now down to the hotel facilities, Mini Golf (as long as no more than 2 people want to play at one time), Tennis (No Rackets for over a week - even though the hotel shop had about 5 in there), arcade machines (Couldn't play on them to many kids on them), Internet (out dated PC's and slow internet), TV (the only English channel was BBC World News - If you were from Italy, France, Germany or Greece you were fine cause there was about 20 channels for them). THE ALL INCLUSIVE well this was good but they only thing I found hard is that they wouldn't let you have tea or coffee after midnight which I thought was wrong because no tea/coffee making facilities in room! And an iron/ironing board..... No Chance they forced me to put it through their laundry service at 6.40 euros... this holiday was a joke! Don't go there!
Anyway each to there own.
