All in All, good !!!!
7 / 10
Sep 2011, Mrs G

We have stayed in 3star apartments in greece before, and compared to sum, it was good. The family that run it was very friendly and helpful, including the young son and older nephew of the lady that ran the bar resturaunt. (i'm embarrased that i don't remember their names). The room was overlooking the pool, which I was very glad not to have been put in one over the bar.(avoid that if you can). It was a bit of a walk to the bigger shops, but after the only exercise i did in the day was getting up from the sunbed to slap on more lotion, order an amazing frappe from the resturaunt, and cooling off in the well kept pool, it was needed. The resturants and bars in falaraki was not as cheap as past holidays there but good compared to england prices. We always eat the dishes of the country we are staying in, and as much as the menus were much the same as each others, the foods were delicious, and filling. The house red wine in each of the resturaunts were ok which was suprising as they were not expensive. The only upset i had on holiday was in the supermarkets, (so called, asda and safeway) big joke!!!!!!!!! They were not friendly and the owner of the asda was not only nasty in his manner as well as unfriendly, but he tried to rip me off by 9 euros extra on the first shopping trip there, and when i queried why the said money was added for no reason on the end of my sub-total receipt, be became rude and
refused to let me buy anything and told me to go. (still confused why that was my fault).Anyway, be warned!!!!!
That didn't ruin a most enjoyable week away from work, the phone ringing, and the housework. would go there again.

18-30s non-stop noise & disrespect
1 / 10
Jul 2011, Astounded Guests

We researched the Achousa Hotel, Faliraki to ensure it was far away from the centre of Faliraki and quiet. What we read was that it was "On the outskirts of Faliraki with nearby bars, cafes & shops, near to the beach, a quiet location, suitable for couples and families".
It was nearly a mile walk to the nearest shop (1.5 miles to the nearest real food market AB), nearly a mile to the nearest restaurant or bar, a mile to the nearest bustop, 2 miles to the beach. All along a very fast motorway - quite a dangerous walk in scorching temperatures with almost no shade and no breeze. Taxis were too expensive to use. The hotel charging 1 euro for a bottle of water which cost 33 cents in AB.
For the first 10 nights of our 14 night stay we were woken between 5.30-6.30 am with young louts slamming doors, shouting down the corridors, gathering for parties in their rooms. We rang reception to complain every night (sometimes twice a night) but despite confronting them ourselves and the receptionist ordering them back to their own rooms & to be quiet, they would not stop the noise so it was often 8.30 am before we could sleep. Then, at 9.30 am each day the pool bar switched on dance/rave music at full blast. This echoed over the whole complex and continued until 9.00 pm. When they were asked to turn down the volume so people could relax at the pool they were told: "If you don't like the music, leave".
The notice on the door of the room stated "If complaints are received regarding your behaviour within your accommodation, either by other clients or accommodation owner, Olympic Holidays have the right to terminate your holiday, the owner has the right to evict your group without prior notice ....". When we pointed this out we were told only their rep could evict them. She served a 'written warning' after 10 days of noise & they were due to leave then anyway. Our last 4 days were relatively quiet at nights but only because the noisey clients had moved to other corridors. We did attempt to get moved out after 1 week of suffering, but were told we could not be moved immediately and we'd have to pay 115 euros extra for 5 days at a hotel even further away from facilities and we would have to make our own way there. However, another dissatisfied couple we met at the hotel did manage to move out so they could enjoy their last 8 days at no cost to them.
As far as self catering facilities were concerned, this consisted of (in the corner of the room): a sink, fridge, electric kettle, 2 electric rings. Two of each crockery, glasses, cutlery. 1 frying pan, 1 boiling pan, 1 spatula, 1 ladle. Air conditioning cost 40 euros a week and the fridge fitted under the drainer ensured the sink area was always hot. Plus the room was carpeted making it even more hot & sticky indoors.
We talked to several unhappy families and couples who had each read the false information that the hotel was quiet with family facilities so, like ourselves, had been duped into making a booking and were desperate to move out. This hotel caters strictly for 18-30s only & clients are generally what can only be described as British louts with zero respect for anyone and management catering solely for the 18-30 year olds.

I just got back this morning from 7 nights in Achousa, loved it. The people create such a lovely atmosphere, they are genuine and helpful. A family run hotel that i would most defiantly go back. The room is simple, clean and had everything needed.Plus there are raspberry trees next o the pool with the sweetest berries I have ever tasted. The location was perfect for me because during the day it was a short walk to the center and beaches bus stop, taxi station, rental agents restaurants and food stores, yet it was quite and peaceful at night, Yet they have bbq and cocktails when you want to stay in and chill out.Would recommend to all ages

English Couple in Rhodes 2 fums up

Me and the missus got there and there was pooh in our rooms sink. The toilet was backed up and Marge had to use one in the next room as she is a big girl. The next day we complained and they cleaned it. We went down the street and got an English breakfast for 3 euros. It was paradise as they have over 30 places that sell English breakfasts. The cigs and beer is cheap. Everyone gets drunk by 11am so me and Marge fitted in real well. When we got back to our room it smelt bad again. There was pooh on the floor and I trod in it.
Marge nearly vomited from the stench but they came and cleaned it with disinfectant and gave us 30 euros worth of free drinks so we watched the football-Qpr v Reading and got drunk. Marge went for a swim and her top came undone and all these lads shouted whoa luvvy git em out! It was about 1 in the afternoon so we were leggless (marge kept slipping over) and we went back to our room for a sleep.
Later that night we went down to Pub street and Marge sang Karioki to Spice girls. We got drunk on these concoctions called fish bowls. I was so drunk that I had to be carried out of the pub we was in and get put in a taxi. We arrived home and there was pooh in our sink again but we was too drunk to complain because I thought the owners might have thought it was Marge. (cause they noticed her breaking wind at the hotel bar a lot).
When we woke up again there was more pooh in the room.So I went to the front desk to complain and we found out that the hotels cat would jump through the window and pooh when we were out. Anyway the owner gave us a free air-conditioner for 2 days and a kettle for our 2 weeks free. We locked the windows so the cat never came in and we never experienced pooh again.
On our last day Marge and I got leggless again and Marge went to the toilet and fell asleep for ages. But she was on the toilet for so long her backside sort of slipped in and she got stuck. We had to get the owners son to help pry her out. But the owners are very nice and it is a pleasent hotel.
Thanks you.

The Achousa Is in an ideal location, quiet by day and not far from the nightlife(7 Euros into town 5 Euros back). Rooms are very basic but I advise you to get air-con(50 Euros p/w) because at night it gets a bit hot. Friendly staff and the food isn't bad on site. Good atmosphere by the pool and its a vey typical british style hotel. If you haven't got a big budget and wanna go to a clubbing resort then go here, but if i go back to Faliraki I wouldnt stay here.

Where shall i start, well cannot fault cleaners got fresh linen and towels every other day, as for the Hotel should never be rated a 3 star. Apartments had horrible green carpets this never did much for the room as it made the apartments even hoter. Shower did not work waited 3 days to get repaired. Pool was nice buy a group of local lads came every day and ran havoc around the pool, running around people relaxing, turning up the night clubbing music so you could not hear people when they spoke to you. Hotel only offerd entertainment on a Tuesday night which was a pathetic Kareoke, they should provide more Entertainment as the Hotel is a fair walk downhill to the town. They charged 50 euros a week for Air conditioning which worked out at £57.50, but we hired a fann from the local chemist for 1.50 euros (£1.72) a night. Food wise in Falaraki is very expensive and evening meal will now cost 10 euros (£11.50) per person a milkshake cost 3 euros (£3.45) Supermarket prices have also rocketed i was getting through 100 euros (£115.00) a day for 3 people. Old town Rhodes is even much dearer and they charge 3 euros Service Charge when serving a meal or drinks. This Hotel is not for famillies as the younger ones take over. Holiday Rep was only interested in the younger generation and we hardly ever seen him unless it was his day off and hung around with young girls round the pool. This is one place i will not be returning to i think in future i will stick to Turkey where they are more freindly and entertain all ages.

Achousa apartments- terrible

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 week, and all I can say thank goodness it was only 1 week! It states that the apartments are suitable for couples and families, there were a couple of group of lads there at the same time, causing alot of unnescessary behaviour and very offensive and obscene language over the microphone at the poolside! Obviously this behaviour and language is unacceptable in front of young children.
The cleaniness and maid service was very poor, it took 4 days before we had new bed linen and towels, our door was left open 3 times. On telling the reception staff her response was a shrug of the shoulders and 'dont worry nothing gets stolen here', oh well thats ok then!! When trying to find out our transfer departure time, as they claimed they never recieved the fax sent by the tour operator, I was told by the same receptionist that the bus would pick us up at 14.00. On alot of pushing I discovered the correct time was actually 12.45, yep nice one lady would have missed our transfers and would they have paid for us to get a taxis!?!
Also states on the information page its £3 to get around Faliraki, wrong its 7 euros no matter where you go in the town! Food at the pool side was absolutely shocking, everything you get is deep fried! I also paid an extra £40 for bed and breakfast when we got a continental breakfast (2 toast, butter, jam, warm plastic cheese, spam, and a very very very stewed cup of tea, with a very small container of uht milk).
The 1 rating was for the hot water! Even though the shower was yep you guessed it, shocking!!
Besides the accomodation we had a very nice holiday and there is so much more to Rhodes than Faliraki town! I would go back there again, but NEVER to Achousa apartments, and if your in your right minds you wont either!!

my boyfriend and i stayed here for two weeks .. only 407 for both of us so you get what you pay for pool was great and maria and steve who run the bar are lovely.
the rooms very basic with a horrid green carpet. cleanliness wise i'd say was not good towels and sheets changed twice in the two weeks if they actually cleaned the room and bathroom would be so much better.. the downstairs toilets had not been cleaned since we where there for definate. but as you don't stay in your room what more do you want for the price.. weather was redhot aircon a must but expensive .. 2star no way 3
but for a cheap holiday we had a great time ... and made some good friends.
oh yeah the cd they play constantly for two weeks does get a bit much lol

i stayed here 20-27th aug 08 with my b'friend and had a great time. after reading all the bad reports about this place i thought what kind of dump is this going to be, but when we pulled outside i thought,"god this seems lovely".it actually looked nicer than any other resort in which we dropped people off at. cleaners where in and changed the bed sheets and towels every 3 days and they seemed to take out the rubbish every day. i didn't expect to see a cleaner the whole time i was there after reading the other reports but i thought this was great. we payed 45euro for the air con for a week but it was well worth it,u couldnt of had a good nights sleep without it. all the staff here are all very friendly. took about 20mins into the town walking and it was 5 euro for a taxi. wouldn't have anything good to say about the rep amii, meeting was crap and was charging 13.50 euro for a bus to the water park,so it would of been 33.50 euro altogether for an adult after paying the admission fee. it wasn't even that far out the road. we hired a scooter for the week and it only took us at the most 10mins to get there. would recommennd a scooter staying here as they are so handy and got it for 18euro a day and we went everywhere. met some lovely people here,i'd recommend it to someone who just wants what they pay for..

Well after weeks of looking this was the only place that come up for the dates i wanted to go away and for £330 for a week at this time of the year and at such short notice i was pretty impressed with it. After reading some of the reviews we didnt know what to expect... going down the drive to it, to be honest i thought oh god this is gonna be a tip as theres a new path being laid down and its just a mess. but then you pulled up outside the apartments and it looked really nice and clean. The room was very basic but it had what was needed for a self catering holiday and it was clean and well my friend and I only used it to sleep in. Spent most of the day time by the lovely pool area, the food was really nice from the pool bar and reasonablly priced. It was a 20min walk into main part of Faliraki but thats only what id walk when i walk home from a night out in my home town and it was a nice easy walk. You could be lazy and get a taxi but it cost 7Euros into faliraki from the apartment and well 7Euros was 2 drinks sooo walking it was.
The staff at the apartments are friendly and helpful... Aircon is a must it was priced at 47Euros for a week, which was cheaper than what i paid for a week in Malia in July. It was worth it though for a comfortable sleep.
I would most definatly go there again!
