Venice is a city to experience - it has a unique feel with no traffic noise from vehicles. The old buildings and way of life that has stood the test of time are wonderful. Be aware this is a very expensive city and in restaurants they can charge a cover charge on top of your bill and then still expect a tip too.
The Hotel promised us a dinner if you booked more than three nights and claimed ignorance/language barriers on our arrival. Do not let them get away with this! They did give the promised meal (in a cheap cafe type place-still good).
Be careful about the people who hook you into free trips to the island of muranno, should you not purchase anything in their glass factory you have to pay for your own vaporetta (water taxis) back!! But still a Magnificent holiday and pleasant memories were made!
