This hotel is definitely not 3 star....
3 / 10
Jun 2008, Mrs P Kelly

This hotel is definitely not 3 star. The reception staff were dour and unhelpful. The maid service was bad - fresh towels were not supplied on a daily basis and the sheets weren't changed regularly enough. On at least two days of our stay the room wasn't touched at all - rubbish left in the bins and the floor not swept/cleaned. The air conditioning was disabled as apparently they only allow the use of it in July and August (for which I understand there is an additional charge!) The breakfast was inedible, the breakfast room itself looked dingy and depressing. The pool area wasn't too bad although the plastic beds are less than comfortable - most people bought air beds to put on top of them. However, the pool is 'open to all' so anyone can wander in off the street and use it so on a regular basis the area would be taken over by young, unsupervised children. The resort itself is not bad although it's a bit small but I would definitely not go back to the Hotel Palmyra ever again!

I wasn't expecting much before I went...

Jun 2008, Ms I Kennelly

I wasn't expecting much before I went to the Palmyra but what I found was a little gem. We found the hotel clean and safe for anyone with kids. The pool area was lovely as it's such a small hotel there was never any difficulty finding beds at any time of the day.
The rooms were basic and clean but it is a three star hotel what do people expect, the only complaint I had about them was the shower. It's a typical greek shower and may take some getting used to.
The restaurant was gorgeous, well worth a visit we ate there a few nights and the staff were hard to beat, polite and patient with kids and adults alike. The same staff work the poolside bar and were a pleasure to be around for the two weeks of our holiday !!
All in all I would recommend this hotel for people who just want a nice clean quiet hotel for a nice relaxing holiday which is exactly what I think you will get.

A very friendly hotel, the staff at...

Jun 2006, Mr GJ Gill

A very friendly hotel, the staff at the attached bar and restaurant were especially friendly. The hotel itself is very clean and well appointed, though the hotel bar never seems to be used. An excellent breakfast.
Unfortunately the hotel is situated in a very noisy area, the constant boom boom from the restaurant bar and nearby venues must be very annoying for those with rooms at the front. However the rooms out the back were no better with noisy motor bikes up and down the road all day and night, and the dust cart first thing in the morning. Argassi is a very busy resort with many restaurants (if you don't mind being hassled every time you pass one, but its all good natured).
Get a car and get out into the country and enjoy the magnificent views and wonderful people.

Booked last minute so didn’t expect...

Aug 2004, Mr Phil

Booked last minute so didn’t expect much and to be honest you don’t get it. Very basic hotel and room if your after a no frills place this is for you.
Positives- Staff friendly in restaurant and bar not so much on reception(our rep wasn’t). The restaurant was fantastic that is tagged onto the hotel (try the lamb kleftiko!!!). Wide choice of restaurants. To be fair it was a good place if you don’t expect anything. Big must was the trip to Athens and the island boat trip available from outlets in Argassi, well worth it.
Grievances- You had to pay for air conditioning. We didn’t but suffered at times. Wished we’d gone self-catering because there isn’t even a fridge in the room. we used a sink full of water to cool drinks! You get hassled in Argassi to go in bars and restaurants rather than looking at your leisure. They played west life by the pool!!!
All in all I wouldn’t go back because we did everything we wanted to at Zante but if your after no frills and somewhere to kip and swim then Palmyra is fine just don’t expect too much.
