Hotel Bonn is at Rostislavova 17, Praha 4 - about a 10 - 15 minute tram ride from the centre of Prague.
Tram stops (Horky Tram line 11 & Namesti Bri. Synku Tram line 11 & 18) are less than 5 minutes away from the hotel & trams run every 10 minutes on weekdays until just before midnight when the less frequent night trams take over.
We booked the hotel via hotels.com & paid just under £20 per night for a twin room, ensuite (shower not bath) with breakfast.
The hotel was good - clean, friendly, secure, & even with the tram ride we found it suitably located for getting in & out of town.
The lobby & downstairs lounge (with free internet access) is quite plush, the rooms less so but not shabby.
We actually had 3 single beds in the room with table, chair, TV & mini-bar, a good sized bathroom with modern shower cubicle & a large hall area with wardrobes & drawers for storage. Towels provided & some shampoo & soap.
The room was tidied daily & it seemed & sheets & towels changed every other day - which was fine for us.
There’s also the sky bar (downstairs) open till the early hours - we didn’t try it, preferring to try places outside the hotel, but we weren't disturbed by it either.
Breakfast was great (8am- 10 am) help-yourself to bread, cheese, meat, hard boiled eggs, sausages, cornflakes, yoghurt, cake, biscuits, toast & jam etc plenty to go round with free flowing tea, coffee, hot chocolate & juice drinks.
Downside: no tea / coffee making facilities in the room - & their vacuuming skills weren’t great.
I'm sure you can get cheaper & you can get nearer to the city centre but we ended up staying the full week there which wasn’t our original intention, we were just very happy with what we were paying & what we got.
Getting there - we got cheap return flights from Bristol with Easy Jet (£45 + that extra £5 in tax!). We parked the car at Purple Parking / airport tavern - which you can pay for in Tesco clubcard deals).
In the arrivals hall (terminal 1 for UK flights) you can get your public transport tickets (bus, tram & metro all in one). They do 1, 3 & 7 day passes & we paid 280Kr (about £7) for a 7 day pass. Also, pick up a metro & tram map here.
The first time you use your ticket, get it stamped (machine on bus or tram or machine on entry to metro line) then you just carry it with you.
Right outside the arrivals hall are the bus bays. Catch the 119 bus to Dejvicka (last stop). Takes about 25 minutes & then you're at a main metro station of the city - Dejvicka, green line, A.
There are 3 metro lines that cross the city & combined with the trams & buses, getting around is really simple & convenient.
We didn’t have any trouble however there are lots of warnings about pickpockets on trams & metros & I can see that in the busy summer months with people squashed in, then it could easily become an issue.
I have to say I was a little disappointed with Prague itself - mainly because I’d been told how pretty it was but this was by several people who'd been quite a few years ago.
I do think Prague is worth seeing & I enjoyed my stay there - there is so much to see & do (& any guidebook will give you the main sights) but for me there were too many KFC's & McDonalds for it to be pretty. There's also a hell of a lot of dog pooh so be warned!
I wouldn't go back but I am glad I've been & the view across the Vltava at night towards the castle, with Charles Bridge subtly lit up, does give you an idea of how pretty the city must once have been.
