Not worth the money

The food was ok,drinks expensive and the pool was tiny and i felt as if i had put suntan OIL on after spending 10 min in the pool.The rooms were clean but no diferent than any other hotel/motel.You can get better for cheaper.Will not return there

Our stay was for me :-) mother's day and my birthday.....my lovely partner treated me.......
£209 for one night in what turned our to be "ABSOLUTELY AWFUL"
We had to park in the 150th space down a 90% drop from the Hotel.....
We walked into a room that "was an upgrade bought and paid for" Mr Graham Rothwell General Manager, and it smelt damp, we opened the windows and then the noise of a cat being strangled....bagpipes from the scottish wedding going on in the grounds.....on and on they screeched to the extreme that we left the hotel to find some peace and quiet....heads pounding......ended up in a local restaurant which was lovely (did not use the Spa at all with all that din going on) got back to Hotel 22:30 - into room .....bang...bang ...bang...bang...A DISCO.......I called Reception to ask what time this would stop to be told midnight. My partner works nights and was tired bless him...the whole attitude was hey we say we are a busy hotel so you should understand...NO WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!!
We were given £30 off of the £209 paid and I said that was not fair but the duty manager could not give us more of than that...she would get the general manger to call me the next day...but no...to add insult to injury... I got a letter from Graham Rothwell General Manager stating they are a popular wedding hotel with weddings each weekend and he does advise ALL guests that there is a degree on noise (but not on website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and we had had £30 off and had had a FREE UPGRADE........what a cheek......so in summary....go to the Spar Hotel if you
A) do not want a relaxing weekend spa break
B) want to listen to a cat being strangled all afternoon
C) want to listen to a disco banging until midnight, but hey she shut the fire doors (that made NO difference)
