A perfectly serviceable hotel - its a Travelodge! by BigWoo
6 / 10

We stayed here either side of a day in France. After a long drive down, we found the hotel with no problems, and checked in. Our no smoking room smelt of smoke, but we were quickly given an alternative room when we asked at reception.

Its a Travelodge - its fairly comfortable (although the bed was a little soft), basic, but absolutely fine for overnighting.

On our first night, we made the short journey into Cantebury, and enjoyed some of the sights and a lovely French meal.

The trip to Dover was less than 30 mins, thus making it an ideal overnight haunt before a morning ferry or after an evening ferry (or both, in our case)!

There is a very well stocked shop at the services adjoining the hotel (including wines and beers), and the usual Little Chef fare next door - wonderful breakfasts, as ever!

Dirty and small! by Laura071980

On arrival at the hotel it looked reasonable. Once inside it was very small and the rooms were even worse! We asked for a "family room" which consisted of a small double bed and a couch - that hadn't even been made up! The room was dirty and smelt very damp (although you couldn't see any), the bed was very uncomfortable and the matress had obviously seen better days. Between myself and my family we booked 3 rooms and all were the same.

It is not to the usual Travel Lodge standard and I would not recommend this unless you are very desparate!

The Little Chef opposite served us with something that you could just about discribe as food and all the cutlery and glasses were dirty.

Definately in need of a revamp!!!!! Which was aparently the reason why we were awoken with loud banging noises at 6.50am!

A good value basic hotel by Mary-Christmas72
6 / 10

I stayed for one night at the travelodge and found it to be quite basic but fairly clean and quiet. It is tucked back from the A2 dual carriageway so there was no noise from traffic. Reception is very small but the member of staff on duty was very friendly and helpful.

It is located next to a little chef which was surprisingly good.

All in all this is a good value hotel for a 1 or 2 night stay.

This is a roadside hotel/motel just a few miles outside Canterbury. It's a good stopover on the way to the channel ports.

It's a little bit tatty, but if you can get it for £26, or even sometimes £15, it's not bad value. It's pretty standard Travelodge fare, but it could do with a bit of decoration.

Easy check-in and well located for a stopover, it's far enough away from the road to get a peaceful night's sleep.
