We stayed for 4 nights. After the first night the room had not been made up properly, the bed covers were just thrown back over the bed, towels were on the bath edge where we had left them. Nothing else in the room had been tidied up or even moved. Told the manager who said he would deal with it.
Second night we had a really bad night with the bed springs digging into us making it impossible to sleep. Told manager the following morning who immediately changed our room. second room a lot better.
But still meant that we had had two upsetting days.
Food in restaurant quite good.
The breakfasts were very disappointing.
Having had the bad experience it would have been a good PR exercise to take a little of the account but this did not happen.

Stayed here early Sept 2008. Accomodation was in converted barn at rear of pub car park. Rooms good though card entry to rooms is haphazard and we were woken one night by an irate and obviously inebriated couple attempting to enter their room.Breakfast in the downstairs area of the pub was excellent with a good choiceof cereals and cooked items. However we decided to take evening meals in the upstairs restaurant which was not as good as it might have been. There was not a great choice of meals which would not have been a problem if the dishes had been well executed. They were not well presented and were in my opinion overpriced for what was very mediocre food. Charging extra for vegetables added insult to injury ! .Overall our stay was okay but the evening meals and a very limited range of spirits in the bar left something to be desired.

Stayed here recently after reading good reviews. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our room needed a good clean, the toilet seat was loose, the air conditioning leaked water over our clothes in our suitcase which was placed on the luggage stand. The windows needed cleaning as did the magnifying mirror in the bathroom and the bathroom door was very dirty and stained and the carpet had not been swept properly. You could hear the people using the toilet in the adjoining room! Unfortunately wouldn't stay here again.
