Marriott Hotel Bexleyheath

We stayed at The Marriott as we were attending a wedding nearby and had booked a double room through Superbreaks.com which offered us a better deal than The Marriott directly. The only grip I had was the bad reception service. We asked them to book us a taxi to take us to the wedding reception and they insisted that we wait in our room rather than in reception. After not getting a call for 20 minutes I called reception to be told that they couldn't get a taxi and we would have to wait another 30 minutes at least. As this would have made us late for the reception we had to drive in our own car instead. I thought this was very bad service as they obviously had not intention of letting us know there would be a delay. This resulted in us being late for the reception as we got lost (which is why we wanted a taxi in the first place). Apart from that, I was impressed with the hotel. The room was great (large with two double beds) and the breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We didn't realise there was a pool and jacuzzi otherwise we would have brought our swimming gear a as it looked very nice (you could see it on your way to the car park).

Stayed at hotel one night following a xmas party there.Room was spacious'clean and double bed was really comfy.little touches like smellies in bathroom and tea/coffee made this a pleasant stay.breakfast was great with loads of choice and freshly cooked eggs and pancakes.Would stay again

As an Elite Silver Member I have stayed in many different Marriott locations. This was just average. A modern building and the best in the area. The reception was good and the upgraded room was fine. However clearly it was never checked as the tv was not working and there was no remote....there was also a dirty glass outside that was still there next morning. TV was repaired and remote replaced so no prob. I asked whether there was water in the mini bar and was told that it was empty but that they would send a bottle to the room. This was at 10.30 pm and it was delivered by 11 pm. The bill was £3.50 for the bottle and £2.50 for the tray service.....£6 total. I complained and they said they would deduct the extra but in the morning it was still on the bill....another complaint and it was finally removed. The Bar was full of smokers and the only alternative was a small lounge near the main entrance which was pleasant but lacked atmosphere. Breakfast was ok but no corn flakes or skim milk available....eventually they did find one small pack of corn flakes. I stayed at this Marriott because of the location to a meeting and I probably would do so again but there is room for improvement.

I have never in my life stayed anywhere so bad, booking into our room was a nightmare the staff were less than helpful and laughed in our face, when we got to our room the bathpanel was standing up in front of the sink blocking our use of it, also the panel above the toilet was missing and the lights would not go on in the bathroom, we went back to reception and were given another room we went to the bar and got two soft drinks for which we were charged £5.00 for on our bill inside my orange and lemonade was a piece of black plastic. i was given another drink, which was awful i threw it away. we were with a party of wedding guests 25 rooms were booked, it was my daughters wedding and i was paying for the honeymoon suite which was appauling nothing was given to her in the room ie flowers a wecome drink nothing and the room was smaller than mine, they turned the bath jaquzzi on and out came a load of hair which i witnessed, when we went to complain we were told the room was due for refurbishment but no reduced rate was offered. My son in law was asked for £120 cash deposit for one drink at the bar and was told to go and pay at reception before he would be served. they closed the bar half an hour after we got our drinks forcing as to leave the bar to go back to our rooms. when we got back to our room the key would not work so i had to go back to reception to get another.. Breakfast was very poor for the money, the cold meat bar was warm. the staff rude, the bill was thrust at as on arrival and before i had started eating i was asked to pay. My sister who's car we were in paid for parking for which there was no spaces. also hair was found on the side of the sink in our bathroom, and one of the tea cups in our room had a full lenth crack.

just returned from a weekend trip with our friends. Excellent hotel, and we have stayed in plenty of different hotels. Got a very good B B rate off the internet. Came down to Bexleyheath with our sons.They are in the Great British Disability Display team and they came for practise with the rest of the team at Bromley, so we looked on the internet for an hotel and found this one. We told the other parents from the team how good this hotel is so they are booking it the next time there is a practise.Hotel very clean, staff very helpful and friendly,breakfast very good, infact nothing to say against this hotel only we will be staying again.

Stayed at the Marriott early April, and had a dinner in the restuarant with numerous guests to celebrate a significant birthday. All in all the hotel was clean and comfortable and up to the standard one would expect. I had booked at one rate, but then swapped to another rate when I saw a better offer on the internet - staff were happy to honour the change. Restaurant staf in particular were exceptionally pleasant and attentive and did much to enhance our enjoyment of a good, but not otherwise exceptional, meal. Sports facilities were not bad for a hotel of this size. My family found the stay pleasant and we consider that, at the rate offered, was very good value.

The previous posters must work for the competitors! This hotel is VERY nice! No issues whatsoever. PRice is lower than most, location is inside ringway and near Greenwich, rooms offer 2 double beds to accommodate families. And the beds are worth a mention - all have high quality goosedown comforters, featherbeds and a nice selection of pillows! We all slept great. Free parking and shopping within walking distance. Indoor pool and workout facility was nice. Staff are very helpful and courteous. Acquired as Marriott only late 2005.

I stayed one night in room 226. The room was quite spacious but the fittings looked rather worn. The taps on the bath and shower were very stiff and were therefore difficult to turn off and on. This was a bit of a problem as the water was scalding hot. Bathroom towels were large but had a musty smell. No complaints about the bed, however, which was large and comfortable. Breakfast was nothing special with a limited range of bread and pastries and some sad looking fruit. Check in was on the slow side and the bill, pushed under the door overnight, was addressed to the wrong person!

Yes I agree keep clear of this hotel...as I booked over the internet and got a rate or £85.00 for a double room, when I arrived at the hotel they would not honour this rate and charged me £120.00! . I also found the receptionist very rude...! And my stay there was definatley not worth £120.00.... I can't understand how you can be charged one price and have confirmation of this via email and then when you arrive at the hotel they can charge you another rate for the same room ..! So Be Warned!!

Give this hotel a big miss we booked to stay over a weekend at this hotel and was called at 4.30 pm the day we where due to arrive to be told the reservation center had confirmed the incorrect rate 3 weeks previously and they where not prepared to honour the confirmed rate the only rate available now because they where almost fully booked was fully rack rate. The duty manager eventually came onto the phone only to be abusive and arugementative informing us as it was not his error but the reservation agents error he had no obligation to honour the rate.
