Submitted By: Miss K JacksonFOOD= excellent variety (even for the pickiest of eaters) all freshly served a prepared before your eyes.
SERVICE=again excellent, maids clean room every day and towel change.
ENTERTAINMENT=good, the entertainment was good but as it is a hotel that caters for a wide range of nationalities, waiting for the description of what is happening in your own language can be a bit boring. But dont let this put u off as POrt Aventura is only a 10 max (with children) 5 max (adults) walk away. (IF U ARE PLANNING TO VISIT THE THEME PARK AND HAVE SEVERAL DAY PASSES THEN I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT U VISIT IT AT NIGHT AS IT IS A LOT COOLER AND QUIETER (BEWARE OF THE MOZZIES).
LOCATION=excellent, only a few minutes walk into the busy centre of salou where ther are plenty of english bars, and only a 10 min max walk to the beach which is fabulous (WALK DOWN TO THE FOUNTAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR THE KIDS WILL LOVE IT)
overall the hotel and location is great the only thing that lets the hotel down is that to get a place by the busy pool u will have to be up at least by 7am to get them towels on the sunbeds (GERMANS FOR YA) however one must laugh as when u arrive it clearly states in the welcome pack that the reservation of sunbeds via the use of towels is stricly forbidden (MAYBE SOMEONE SHOULD TELL THEM).

Submitted By: Miss D MeinsWe were allocated a room the next day. The location is good about 10 mins to the beach and main strip and about 20 min walk to port adventura. We walked 3 times is was nice and hot so we didn’t mind.
The rooms were very clean and it was quiet at night. The food was really good chef show cooking and the breakfasts are great. Entertainment a bit naff but you can go out to karaoke’s and discos. The pool was a good size to. Always a lifeguard on duty.. Table tennis.. Pool...games room. Internet room all in this hotel...and all in all I would go back to this hotel. Good weather in sept..
" An excellent choice if, like us, you... "
Submitted By: Mr A SeagerThe hotel is less than 15 minutes walk from the park and cost us (a family of 4) over a grand less than the Portaventura hotels would have cost. It's also about 10 minutes to the beach.
The rooms are very comfortable and well-equipped. Our kids had no problems with the sofa-bed, they thought it was great.
The food was good, with plenty of choice for both breakfast and dinner. The nearest supermarket is 5 minutes away when you need to stock up the fridge.
The pool is excellent, if a little crowded. Get there before 9.30 to get a decent sun bed.
The staff were friendly and efficient, although we felt they could have done with a few more staff in the bar and restaurant.
The evening entertainment was poor, and the kids' entertainment was awful, but Salou has so much to offer that it wasn't a problem for us.
Portaventura is fantastic, as is its water park. There are rides and shows for all ages and the nightly Fuerteventura is well worth seeing.
All the rides have height restrictions, and they are very strict with this, but our youngest (who missed out on a few rides by 5cm) still had a wonderful time.
He'll be over the 120cm mark required for a lot of the better rides by July when we're going back.
If you want to get around, public transport is excellent, and Barcelona is about an hour away. The zoo and the Nou Camp are well worth a visit.
All in all, a great part of the world for a family holiday, a very good hotel. Recommended!
" Have stayed in this hotel twice, both... "
Submitted By: Mrs M OsborneFood is fantastic, main reason we went back. Location ideal, 10 mins to theme park, 10 mins to town and 15 mins to beach. Staff courteous and helpful particularly restaurant staff.
Have stayed in both Port Aventura hotel and Costa Caribe and this hotel beats them hands down for location, food, even the rooms.
Fridge is free and a good size, pool towels supplied for use in hotel or even on the beach so no need to take them with you. Hotel is very clean and well maintained.
Last year queued a few times for breakfast but as food is so good we didn't mind. Choice in the evening is superb, best hotel food we've ever eaten.
Wine with dinner is very reasonable and bottles come already labelled with room number, so I could drink a bottle of white over 2 nights and husband could drink red.
Salou is lovely, theme park great for all ages and beach/promenade beautiful. Plan to go back this year even if only for a weekend.
" Best hotel I have stayed in. Food 10... "
Submitted By: Mr C G WilliamsBut if you go to port a Ventura, hide the food and drink, they go thro your bags like they are looking for guns, they are not, they want you to spend four times, yes four times the cost of goods outside inside, spoils the day, also be prepared to queue, big style.
They let rides go half full to keep up the queue? Must be to sell the fast pass? Disney ten out of ten, Porta Ventura, three.
" A very nice hotel, could not fault... "
Submitted By: Mrs N JonesWe booked for 3, 2 Adults and a 4 year old, and we got 2 large sized single beds, and a sofa bed for Child, which was not really suitable for a child as he got stuck in it a number of times, so ended up sleeping with me. Very disappointed in the children’s entertainment, as it did not exit, this may of been because we where out of season or because we did not book through a tour operator.
The child’s play area consisted of a small slide, climbing frame, 1 slide, 1 sea saw and 1 bobby thing, really small in size for the size of the hotel. There was a room at the end of the bar which had some soft play area and school tables and chairs but was smelly, so you could not stay in there for long. Indoor pool was the only way to entertain child as it was too cold to go in the outdoor pool, which was a very good size and heated.
Very close to Port Aventura which is an excellent day out for all the family (only about a 7 minute walk). But quite a walk into the town centre. All surrounding streets are blocked paved and there are lots of loose ones and missing ones, so be very careful with prams or if you are a bit unsteady. Lots of tree roots which have been paved over and then uprooted paving slabs etc. Beach was clean and nice the stroll along the promenade was nice. Salou is now a non smoking resort which I liked, but not for my smoking husband.
Only about 14 minutes away from Reus Airport which cost £25 euros each way in a taxi.

Advice: Very expensive partly due to UK economy - so go full board to save yourself some dosh!
