Quality Hotel Hatfield

We booked this hotel, and then read the reviews - we would have cancelled, but had paid for the two night deal up front. We were concerned about what to expect, but from the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Everyone was friendly, and our room was spotlessly clean - when we asked for two extra pillows, and extra towels, these were brought to us straight away, with an apology. The main selling point for this hotel is that it is only a 5-10 minute walk from the Herts College Lane Campus. There isn't much else to see/do nearby. The room was spacious & clean, and not too noisy given that the hotel is right next to the motorway. The internet was reasonable although not brilliant. The buffet breakfast was very good.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Room was freezing on arrival and generally cold in the evening. Had to turn on heater myself to warm up the room! That sometimes took a while. The hotel was generally cold. Even though the restaurant was advertised as open at reception, the only food available in the hotel was bar food - and this was average to awful depending on what was left on the menu when you actually ordered. when we arriived at the hotel all seemed fiine but we got a phonecall to our room telling us we had to go downnstairs for our main meal by 6.15 when we arrived downstairs we didnt acctually get our meal untill 7.20 .as i approachedd the manager ben elder who told me he wwas buisy and wouldd talk to me in a moment 40 minuites later he finaly came to me and told us his excuse which i said that wasnt the point that we were sat inn a restaarant for one our with no service . then he told me he would speak to me in the foye . i got upp andd saidd... more
