I visited the hotel earlier this month (July 2011) with my family.
In brief my points are;
1. Hotel clean with good room service
2. I found it quiet, although the walls are thin with little sound proofing.
3. The pool although small was kept clean, and was never over crowded during my time there.
4. The reception staff ranged from competant and helpful, to fully incompetant and downright rude and unhelpful so maybe a training issue there.
5. The food on half board basis was not too bad.... IF (underlined/bold) you are not too fussy a eater, otherwise you may struggle. I went for quantity as quality was rarely on offer.
To sum up, for 3 star accomdation this hotel is quite good, and all in all I enjoyed my stay there, the rooms are air conditioned, but lack a fridge, the sleeping arrangements are a little bizzare in that they expect everyone to bunk up together in queen beds, I personally witnessed two young chaps pleading for single beds at the reception to no avail, and my duaghter and friend (21yrs) were also unhappy with this arrangement.
Ideal for beach and nightlife, which is important, for when I was there the hotel entertainment Day or Night could acurately be described as 'not included'.

Just come back from a holiday here, was fantastic! Down fall was when we got there, we had to wait till nearly 13:00 to check in our room and we arrived at half ten, so had to hang around for ages. Hotel brilliant, great food, atmosphere, clean rooms/ towels everyday/ bar staff so friendly and happy. The only down fall was it needs more entertainment for kids. There was only two shows on a week i think?! not much good. But over all great holiday and would most certainly go back.

This hotel was quite good it was clean and bedding towels etc got changed all the time . i would say the entertainment was rubbish belly dancers one night and a guy singing on the saturday night and that was all there was . pool not vert big but it was quite when we went so it was all right . food was not all that great but it does the job for 2 weeks . plus we were on the other side of pool and it was quite noisy when the pubs come out at 5 in the morning .i would go bk but only a week next time..

We went on a school trip to Barcelona and we stayed in this hotel. On the first night we did't get to sleep as the man next door was snoring and as the walls were paper thin it was amplified. As soon as we began dozing off a group of about 20 young people gathered under the hotel window and began shouting and chanting at the top of their voices. On the second night the people next door to us were arguing and the next night they were listening to really loud music. The last morning that we were there, there was a couple next door to us and we heard everything that there were up to, and it was not appropriate for young peoples ears. The food in the hotel was ok, but endless chips were served, even for breakfast one morning! The "clean" dishes were filthy and most of the time we did't use the glasses as they were covered in a brown liquid but just drank straight out of the bottle. The lift was awful as they jerked their way down, but as we were up on the fourth floor we needed to use them, but most of the time we just used the stairs. The best things in the hotel are the hot chocolate machine and the cleaness of the rooms. It was ok as we only really spent the nights in the hotel though, but all dinners and breakfasts were eaten there. On two of the days on our trip we were supplied with packed lunches from the hotel. Inside these were battered ham, peperoni and ham sandwiches, piece of fruit, mini croissant, water and biscuit. The battered ham was wrapped in tin foil and i really would'nt reccomend eating it.

we arrived at the hotel, everything looked nice and clean and the pool looked good. But as we went closer to reception we could smell bins coming from the stairwell. We went up to our room to find a clean room with a good balcony view of the nearby theme park Port Adventura.me and my friend decided to see were the smell was coming from.We went down to the restaround on level -1 to find we could not go down to the garage as it was cordened off with tape.So we decided to go down on the lift to the garage. We were greeted by this brown looking water to intrude the lift.We looked round to see the whole garage was flooded and was up to 1/2 a metre high of brown water in some parts of the garage.i looked round to see what had caused this, it was a wall which some parts had gone green and black which was leaking this brown liquid, this stunk of sewage and bins.We went back up to the reception and i asked what the smell was pretending i didnt know what i just saw.She snapped back saying i know nothing practically shouting and then cut the conversationg short and started typing agin on her computer.
I would recommend the hotel if you want just a clean room and bar/pool but definatly wouldnt recomend eating there as most meat was uncooked and in the restarauunt you could smell this.

Had read so much about this hotel before we went away and was worried it was a mistake so here now just to add my opiniun.
My partner myself and my 2 boys aged 16 and 11 have just had a fantastic holiday staying at the san fransisco hotel. I gave the hotel a rating of 10 cos it was excallent and deserved it.
We were very well looked after from the moment we arrived to the time we left all staff were extreamly helpful. The hotel itself is kept immacuatly clean The food well what can i say..
I defiy anybody to go down to the buffet meals at breakfast or dinner and come away hungry. There was an immense choice of food available at all meals and as it was self service you could eat as much as you liked and any combination you liked. We saw many different nationalities with their own choice of food, which did look an interesting commbination on some plates i must say!!! But if my children found they were full then you have nothing to worry about.!
The rooms were large and kept very clean(daily maid service) and the en-suite bathroom was grand. We had a side room overlooking the mountains great if your there when they have an electrical storm!!
You are only across the road from a supermarket where you can buy your lunch to have back in your room or down on the beach. Also across the road is an ice cream palour heaven!!!
Although i thought it sounded daft when i read it on some one elses review the beach is actually UP a hill... you then go down either a number of steps to the lacal smaller beach or down the road to the main beach.Worth the ten minute walk as it has everything on it. The best thing for us was an off shore floating island you can swim out too and climb onto so you can dive off into deep water. A lifeguard is station on board all day.Great fun.

We went to this hotel in Salou on 7th June 08 on our booking form it said check out 12 noon.We were told no 10am,i asked to speak to the manager to try to come to an agreement. He sent the poor recepionist out and flatly refused to talk.I was not shouting, that is bad management. We rang Med Hols up they did sort it,the rep said the manager has refused to speak even to her.The main thing about this hotel is the FOOD.For breakfast there was never much of a change, streaky bacon beans and these small over spiced sausage which no one seem to have. One day we got hot dog sausages. The chef cooks pancakes, omelettes,& fried eggs. The state of grill it could do with a good clean. At evening meal he also cooks beefburgers & hotdogs as well as maybe a piece of chicken, all on same grill. The evening meal you only got one veg which sometimes had a red paprika all over.We had jacket potato once &had to find one that was not covered in red pepper.Otherwise CHIPS CHIPS& MORE CHIPS.There is a night club down the side street but as we were at the front we did not hear it,but if you were on that side you would. It was central for everything,& hotel was clean, sun beds were old & cracked no matress to put on the reason for a 3 was location.

I visited this hotel with my 2 young children and my mum for 14 nights.
We found the hotel spotlessly clean and tidy, the room was a little small but was quite adequate and the balcony (facing the pool) was big enough for a table and 4 chairs.
We found the food fantastic and the choices were changed everyday so there was always something for everyone.
The pool was nice and the kids club reps provide games for the children in and out of the pool - my little boy got a medal for playing water polo with them and he was very proud!!
Staff are friendly although seem to have a little problem with the english language but they are quite helpful and smiley.
We could not fault this hotel, and the resort. It was just what we were looking for and great for families...we have just booked up again!!

I stayed at this hotel August 2011!what a big mistske. i read the reviews before hand and thought it cant be that bad.
How wrong i was. after waiting over four hours to get in my room on arrival. The saff there are very rude oh unless you are spanish or german.
The reveiws i read reguarding the food before i went are so very very true it was discussing. meat was raw and food for English was not on the menu.I spent a lot more spending money than intended because my children did not like anything and belive me they are not usaly fussy eaters.
The noise in the hotel was terrible there were groups of lads coming in every morning at 5. Their was also young people partying all night in the hotel. when i complained to reception i was told to ring down if it happens again i did and no one answerd the phone!!!!
The swimming pool was full of class after the all night partys had taken place and their was a number of children who ended up cutting their feet..
overall this hotel was the worst i have ever stayed in!! it is not family orentated at all their was no entertaiment on in the evening for children in fact myself and the children could not wait to come home. This hotel really is the hotel from hell!!!!
