The rudest manager you will ever find. Clare.

Jan 2011, Oh the shame

All else overshadowed by the rudest manager you will ever find. I was given the key to a room that was still left unclean from the previous occupants. Upon 'complaining' I was accused of being moody by the manager (Clare). Atrocious hospitality.

We visited the Senspa for a pampering...

Jan 2008, Mrs R Benoit

We visited the Senspa for a pampering day and were extremely disappointed with it. We found the whole area quite dingy and cramped with only six loungers around the pool, with someone knocking the bottom of it everytime they walked past as there wasn't alot of room, the steam room was very small with the other one out of order. You were given one towel on arrival in your locker and were expected to use this same towel all day meaning that by the time you came to shower at the end of the day, the towel was already cold and wet. I had to change showers three times to find one with hot water and when trying to wash my hair I kept banging my elbows on the side of the shower cubicle as it was so small and cramped. The slippers were quite uncomfortable plastic ones and I heard the receptionist say they had run out by mid-afternoon. I didn't really enjoy the Thai theme, it looked like alot of plastic, dark tiles and cheap bamboo and didn't find the menu very extensive or interesting. Having a plate of curry or very garlic chilli vegetables didn't go with the spa theme for me. Having visited Chewton Glen spa recently, I found that offered much better value for money, was cheaper overall and included breakfast, with Molton Brown products, towels, comfortable slippers and a real feeling of luxury and indulgence that was sorely missing from Senspa.

Jan 2008, Mr A Green

We stayed at the hotel for our office Christmas Party.
Having arrived at 1700 on a Saturday evening expecting to be able to get ready with time to spare there was NO hot water at all in our room.
The duty manager took over an hour to arrive and confirm there was no water before telling us there were no other rooms available and we should use the shower facilities of the Spa.
The electricity plugs were a danger hanging from the wall.
The food for the Christmas party was poor.
I am still awaiting a reply to my written and verbal complaints to the duty manager.
VERY POOR. Do not go here!

Carey Manor is a spa hotel in the...
8 / 10
Feb 2006, Miss J Forrest

Carey Manor is a spa hotel in the village of Brockenhurst in the New Forest. Brockenhurst is only an hour and a half train journey from London and makes an ideal place for a quick weekend getaway and the hotel is a pleasant five minute walk from the station.
There are a variety of room styles available; traditional Manor rooms, more contemporary Garden rooms and Suites. We took the cheaper option of a Garden room, not just because of price, but the decor was more our style than the rather chintzy Manor rooms. Our room was a good size with a balcony over-looking the gardens, which was ideal for enjoying an evening drink (wine purchased cheaply in the local store & chilled in the fridge in the room).
We paid for one day's access to the spa facilities which included a hydrotherapy pool, various experience showers and steam rooms. Treatments such as massages cost extra, but the spa facilities were enough to relax us. There is a juice bar and restaurant in the spa that serves wholesome, but tasty food with an oriental theme to fit with the decor of the spa.
We also ate in the hotel's bistro and main restaurant, which were good. Breakfast in the hotel was rather poor as the service was appalling - we had to ask 4 times for coffee, which still never came.
