Dogmersfield Park Four Seasons

Visited here during week after October 1/2 term. We had a junior suite - room was excellent and our daughter v well looked after. We were told by other guests that the 1/2 term week was great for families with kids but not so good for couples. If you want peace and quiet, avoid 1/2 term weeks! 5 y/o daughter and I used riding facilities. Kind and knowledgeable staff - we had great fun! Also did barge trip - tranquil. Spa was Excellent - madame and I both had treatments and enjoyed the v pleasant pool. Daughter used Kid's Club facilities.... more

This hotel has an identity crisis. If you are looking for a romantic weekend, then check very carefully what is happening at the hotel on the dates you require. We just visited during half term (unintentionally) and there were more children than adults in the restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Although children are restricted to certain times in the Spa, the time cut right through when you might want to go - so have a treatment then relax - No chance, kids everywhere, not just the pool. had a great stay. wonderful staff who give super service (James in the Restaurant) people have commented on the landscaping, in my room this was explained in the welcome pack. The manor wing is owned by the British National Trust and any one who know about the National Trust will know that they have great power in preserving Britains historical buildings consequently just because the manor is now part of a hotel they are not able to put trees everywhere and bright flowers, everything must me inkeeping with the period of the property.... more

A great hotel for a luxury weekend away. Modern, attractive spa. Room very comfortable. Lovely setting. Restaurant excellent. Things that would make it even better: - not having to pick from two sittings for dinner reservations - improve on the slightly could-be-any-deluxe-hotel fake-old decor in the new-build room wings But a lovely place to stay, by any standards.
