" dont be fooled by all inclusive "

Just back from Diana Palace yesterday. There were 4 adults and 1 child in our party. I went to same hotel last year and when i got what i thought was a really good price for all inclusive this year, i jumped at it since my son, his girlfriend and their 2 yr old were coming. We only had dinner on one occassion and lunch on one occassion. Although there was a few days in between the lunch looked like a recycled version of the dinner. After that although my husband had a look each night i didnt venture back to the dinning room as he said it looked the same every night. We were okay eating and drinking out as i just emptied my bank account but i feel sorry for people going with a budget and have no choice but to eat there. Dont get me wrong i feel the price i paid was not much more than most self catering prices, but if your thinking you wont have to take much spending money, think again. The drinks included were also the cheapest of the cheap and not worth getting a bad stomach for.(they didnt even give mythos beer, it was an even cheaper brand that even my son said was vile. And believe me if he cant drink it, it must be bad) The only other rant i have is about the night security guard. Our rooms were very close to reception were he was usually watching tv when we came in. Even speaking very low he would tell us to be quite, one night i gave him a piece of my mind, telling him we were on holiday and since we had a 2 yr old who was uaually sleeping in his pram when we arrived home, we were hardly likely to make noise and wake him up. He then told me "you better speak better to me" I told him where to go and complained about him the next day as we really hadnt been noisy at all. After that he didnt come near. Our holiday really was great, would stay at Diana Palace again although not all inclusive. Please dont be fooled by all inclusive as i know if me and my husband hadnt been with my son, his girlfriend and baby they would have struggled.

Advice: Great place. everyone very friendly, second year there treated like an old friend

" A brilliant holiday, fun and entertaining for all "

A very enjoyable holiday, weather was gorgeous for the whole week. The island was beautiful, and the resort of argassi was lovely. All the staff were very friendly, and i met a lot of people out there. My room was good, double bed with a balcony. Food was ok, not all to my taste but i am a fussy eater, good selection overall. Pool was brilliant lots of sun loungers around so always somewhere to sit. The entertaiment was really good, two guys Rhys and Adam tried to get everyone involved and were really friendly. Always something to get involved with for all ages - from kids to adults. We went all inclusive and would definately recommend it. I had a very enjoyable holiday and would definately return to Diana Palace

Advice: Plenty to do for all ages bars clubs and restaurants, with small beach and crystal clear waters

Activities: The boat trip of the island was alot of fun, would recommend the half day trip.

Good for: Beach

" Excellent "

The Receptionists are very helpful and book any activities you wish to do. The food is very good and have a variety of different types. The entertainment is very good and i joined in on a couple of them, the Greek night is very good fun as is the Karaoke. Thereis only two small failures, which are; The pool is quite deep for youngsters, and people come round trying to sell things. There is a smaller pool for the younger ones, so that isn't so bad. I have informed the hotel about the people in which try to sell you things and they said that they will take that on board. The rooms are excelent and the maids are very good and take alot of time in doing the rooms. the beach is very close and a nice 2-3 minute walk. There are alot of gift shops that you can pop into on your way to the beach. On the Thursday we went on a turtle trip which one of the receptionists told us about and sour a lot of them, about 10 - it wasgood fun. We went Allinclusive and the food was excelent!!!
It is a brilliant place to go and I would recomend it to any body.

Advice: Very friendly!

Activities: Turtle spotting!

" not 2bad. "

this is your usual run of the mill greek hotel which is more of a spanish 3star than 4star.the food isnt 2bad if not a bit boring&quite repetative.anybody staying with children should b warned that the food choices are not made with children in mind&we seen alot of children really struggling 2 find a food they liked.the hotel also doesnt seem 2have any sort of nightly entertainment program so again keeping children entertained could b a big problem.i dont want 2 scare anybody from this hotel as my partner&i had a great week in argassi but if u dont expect 2much then you wont b disappointed.i would greatly recommend t free bus in2 st nicholas beach from outside the hotel as we had a great day out.we also hired a quad from a little shop just down the road from the front of the hotel&had a great time driving 2 laganus&kalamaki beach.overall both my partner&i had a great week in argassi&met some really nice friendly people, the hotel isnt as bad as what some people try 2make out so just go&enjoy your holiday.oh yes i nearly forgot 2 mention that everything seems so expensive now!!!!

" dont listen to the bad reviews about this hotel "

We stayed at diana palace for two weeks self catering intailly. we read many reviews about the hotel and were quite worried about it. when we arrived it was lovely, it was clean and tidy and nicely presented. As we did go the first week in the season things were still starting to open up, so we were a bit rescrited to where to eat. The respionist told us she do us a special deal on staying all inclusive and said shed do at 28 euros a day, which me and partner thought was very good as we were easily spending that in a day with drinks as well. The all inclusive food is eatable but theres not much choice, we only done it for 5 days and were glad at the end of the 5 days to go self catering, and more things were starting to open up. Try legends for a cheap english meal it was great. theres loads tto do at argassi and we defently dident get bored in the two weeks we were there. PLease dont listen to any bad reviews about the hotel, its no where near like what they say.

Advice: Go on the jeap safari its great fun and worth the money

Activities: check out legends and 24/7 for a greek gyros there gorgous

" great :) "

because i am an 18 year old girl, i would rather stay in laganas which i have booked with my friends for summer 09, as it is more club 18-30 than argassi, but if you want the joys of clubs/bars on your doorstep but at the same time quite a family atmosphere then diana palace is for you. i stayed in diana palace in august 08 with the family, and it had something to offer for everyone of us.
apartments were clean, spacious, nothing to moan about at all, just your typical greek apartment. i have to warn you dont jump from one bed to the other , it slid and i ended up on my bum haha. balcony was facing a little waterfall feature towards to back of the hotel, quite pretty. the hotel is well placed, 'the factory' club is just outside main entrance so if you want a quiet stay try to get a room away from the front area. pool area really clean and tidy, always lilos there you can use. food from restaurant really nice, would recomend it. staff really nice, the man on the reception bar is quite a flirt to the young girls! i recomend magic mushroom bar/club, livens up about 1 o clock and stays open to early hours.
the beach isnt really much of a beach, some parts are nice but you cant really walk along it without walking across hard stones!
on the other hand there is a ruin on the beach which is quite pretty and many bars on the beach.
met some lovely people there, locals very.. sometimes overly friendly. over all it is a great place to go, for both families and a girly get away. its good having both family friendly features and pubs and clubs on your doorstep.
definatly reccommend!!

" Good place to saty! "

When we went to Hotel Dianna Palace we were verry well off! There is a good selection of shops and bars nearby and the clubs are open 24 hours so if you dont like a bit of noise all through the night then dont come here. We were ok with that because we didnt usually get in till late anyway! The hotel rooms dont have air conditioning avallible unless you pay for it and is verry expensive. The rooms are nicley furnished but the shower curtains are verry hard to control. We didnt have any trouble with bad guests which was good and the staff are mostly polite. This hotel would not be suitible for people who dont like stars because there is only one verry small lift which you have to be carefull of because the door open and close on opposte sides. There is also a nice rounded selection of day trips to visit including, water parks, Churches, boozy cruises and also the main shopping town in zante. The only few faults thet I would say that I experienced is the traffic, (Its manic around dinnertime.) and that the internet connection was always breaking down and failing to connect. Lastly, I would like to ad that a great free beach bar with swimming pool, free sunloungers with mats, free umbarellas, free pool toys, free table tennis area, grass area, restaurant, bat and friendly staff is nearby called Dimitrioes. Its open from early till late and is great to visit. Its cheap and cheerfull and is verry entertaining especially for kids.

" Very disappointed with our stay at... "

Very disappointed with our stay at the Diana palace hotel. The food selection was very poor and mainly served Greek food. The breakfast was a little more intreaging apart from the cereal which was very dry. On two separate occasions we found lipstick on our drinking glasses and the toaster burnt the majority of toast. If your looking at staying at the Diana palace, look at going self catering unless you can eat anything.

There wasn't a smoke alarm in our room so we enquired about if we should have one and we was told the engineers would have a look the following day but they never did so we asked a again and still heard nothing. By the end of the week we had given up and also made a complaint to Thomas cook. The reception staff were very rude when we asked about the smoke alarm, whether there should of been one or not it wouldn't hurt them just to be a little more understanding.

If your looking at staying in Argassi and want to sleep at night, don't come here. There were also a few other people in the hotel who had all asked to move rooms because of the noise. The bars are open 24hrs and as someone mentioned below there is a bar just a few feet away from the hotel which is also open 24hrs. Also if you want air conditioning you have to pay for it, so think about if you can afford to pay for one because it gets very very hot and makes it very difficult to sleep.

The cleaners also left the window and balcony door open after cleaning which is understandable if you are and home and are staying in but not when your on holiday and your suitcase's and valuable's are left in the room. Maybe its quite safe to do so in Argassi but its far from the point.

However the rooms were nice and clean and spacious and the pool was good. Think long and hard making a decision, it mite be right for some people but not for others.

" i have just returned from the diana... "

i have just returned from the diana palace and would like to say that people need to stop moaning about little things like there rooms do u go on holiday to spend your tyme in ure room no u just sleep in it it is not at all a club 18-30 style holiday as there is a few bars and one night club the factory which is across the road from the hotel however they have the doors shut to keep the sound down as it gets later into the night you should try laganos to experiance a club 18-30 argassi is not at all one.the food isnt exactly desighned to suit fussy people but it has a good variety it has specials nights liek greek night fish night and itallian night the area is lovely we hired a moped and went to all the beaches zante is full of beaches and not much else but if you like sunbathing it the best palce for you however the staff are lovely and always happy to get you anything apart from one receptionist which seemed she couldent be botherd howsever the rest were great and who can say the cleaners dont clean properly we arrived at 7.00 in the morning and were accidently woken by them trying to come in cleaning but we sorted it out by asking for a do not disturb sighn the pool is lovely and i think ikt just hit or miss with rooms werver you go

" We informed TC at the time of booking... "

We informed TC at the time of booking that we did not want to be in a club 18-30 destination, where did they send us only to the second liveliest resort on the island!!!! Diana Palace- my review is not good. The hotel is situated right outside Argassi's main nightclub 'The Factory' if you are unluckily enough you will stay in room 204-208 your balcony will face the nightclub with only the width of a road between you. The club will stay open untill about 6am every night and even with both hotel doors cloased there is a pounding baseline which is so lound you cannot sleep!!!!!!!!! We were unlucky enough to be placed into one of these rooms, we compalined to the stroppy lady at reception that we did not want the room so she downsized us to the smallest room in the hotel where there was no sunshine on the balcony. The shower in our room had electric wires hanging out. The shower went from scoching hot to frezzing cold. The shower and toilet were really durty even after the room had been cleaned. The toilet handle was so dirtyy we decided to use on of the hotels towls everytime we touched it as we did not want to catch anything. The 3*A was certified in 1997 so therefore it is now 11 years old- it does not live up to the reputation. The food, cooked by a chef with 25 years experiance completly put me off greek food for life.

" Overall had a really good holiday but... "

Overall had a really good holiday but have to say that the hotel was a disappointment. We were in a room at the very back of the hotel which was very run down. Plaster was coming off of the walls and the room was not clean as other comments have said. Also, we were given the impression that bed linen was changed regularly but in fact most of it had been turned inside out etc. The bathroom was not great either and was full of gnats. We arrived on the friday and were told that they would move us on the sunday but never contacted us. When our rep asked why they just made up an excuse that we were meant to contact them but we were never told this. We were also told that we had to be out of our room at 12 and they rang us at 10.45 to say that we had to be out at 11, somehow we managed to get out at 11.10! We also had to pay 35 euros for air con for the week and when we spoke to some greek people staying in the hotel they told us that they were not made to pay this. The safety deposit box also costs 20 euros for the week. I obviously do not know what the rooms are like in the main part of the hotel but from what i can make out from the comments they are a lot better so i think this hotel is really a lottery. The pool area is lovely and the bar is great along with the bar staff (although if you are self catering do not buy hotel food 2euro can of coke and 1 euro 20 for packet of french fries!!!!). There is a supermarket down the end of the road which sells most things. Argassi is a lovely town and would definitely stay there again, we only got asked to go into restaurants twice the whole time and the people are so friendly. Is also only a 10-15minute taxi drive to laganas so if you want to go to clubs is very good. Would definitely recommend the thomas cook bar crawl, was a very good night. I would definately stay in argassi again but would choose a different hotel.

" just returned from a week at Diana... "

just returned from a week at Diana Palace Hotel. Before leaving, read reviews on net and was a little apprehensive about staying there, however, we were very pleasantly surprised. We stayed in a self catering appartment for 5 which was of a good size and spotlessly clean. The kitchen area had a kettle and toaster which we have previously had to hire at other Greek appartments. We also had a microwave which was uselful. Hairdryers were standard to! Appartment cleaned every day and bed linen and towels changed everyother. Staff were friendly, especially in the hotel bar and around the pool bar. The swimming pool was very clean, though very deep, probably deeper than the 2.6m shown. Plenty of sunbeds to go around, though I dont know if this would be the case in August. The resort itself was fine, lots of different restaurants, though you do feel pressured to go into each one you pass. Bars on the beach are lovely in the evening, very relaxing but the beach itself is not the best, virtually non existant, though there is a free bus to St. nicholas beach daily if the beach is what you like. We have had a lovely holiday and would recommend the hotel to anyone. Read the bad comments but go with an open mind!
