Nov 2011, holiday hell

If your idea of 4 star food is radioactive looking pink mousse for dessert then this is for you. If you enjoy the same very salty food every day and a complete lack of any fresh fruit with the exception of melon, that is served at every meal then go right ahead, you will not be disappointed. If however you are used to a quality holiay then this is not it.
If you want good food, quality drink and entertainment that is of a reasonable quality, dont bother. The beach is a mass of seaweed and drinks watered down and red wine is hot. We had a week there andf did not enjoy our hotel or the claustaphobis surroundings.
Not really surprising that it is substandard when we complaied to Cosmon they got our name wrong on the correspondance and clearly did not know that Mrs usually refers to a female rather than male. Obviously the lack of any quality at all starts at the top of the chain and continues all through.

Sep 2010, Disappointed

We have just returned from an 11 night holiday at this hotel. Just be careful if you are used to a 4 star hotel particularly with regard to facilities and the food. This is more like a 3 star. The room was basic but fine. The food however was horrendous. The choice was very limited, we really struggled to find anything to eat, and ended up going out for meals. The dining room itself is also basic as were all the facilities. Additionally as we were with Thomas Cook, we had to pay extra for the air conditioning. This was 65 euros, the safe was 35 euros and they would not take a credit card. The location of the hotel was fine, on the main street. Argassi has no beach to speak of (pebbles / shingle) but there are plenty of bars that are on the side of the beach, who have sunbeds in their grounds which are free if you use the facilities. The atmosphere in the resort at night is lovely with plenty of people about. I would go back to Argassi again, but I think next time I would go self catering, as they mostly seemed very clean and tidy and there are many restaurants to choose from.

  • Advice: Only book it if you can put up with 3 star

What a let down

Jul 2010, sue

Just got back. We are 57 years old and the noise of the hotel and the kids in the pool is still ringing in our ears. The hotel was in a great location and very clean. Apart from the toilets. there was never any paper after lunch time and no locks on People wer putng their towels on the sun beds late at night. No way a 4 star Hotel. If we had been aged from 0 to 30 or had a few kids I supplose it would be great. We got back one night at exactly 11 and asked for a coffee and was charged 8 Euro
If we had been at a different resort I think we may have enjoyed it more. Never again at this Hotel.

Just back from Diana Palace yesterday. There were 4 adults and 1 child in our party. I went to same hotel last year and when i got what i thought was a really good price for all inclusive this year, i jumped at it since my son, his girlfriend and their 2 yr old were coming. We only had dinner on one occassion and lunch on one occassion. Although there was a few days in between the lunch looked like a recycled version of the dinner. After that although my husband had a look each night i didnt venture back to the dinning room as he said it looked the same every night. We were okay eating and drinking out as i just emptied my bank account but i feel sorry for people going with a budget and have no choice but to eat there. Dont get me wrong i feel the price i paid was not much more than most self catering prices, but if your thinking you wont have to take much spending money, think again. The drinks included were also the cheapest of the cheap and not worth getting a bad stomach for.(they didnt even give mythos beer, it was an even cheaper brand that even my son said was vile. And believe me if he cant drink it, it must be bad) The only other rant i have is about the night security guard. Our rooms were very close to reception were he was usually watching tv when we came in. Even speaking very low he would tell us to be quite, one night i gave him a piece of my mind, telling him we were on holiday and since we had a 2 yr old who was uaually sleeping in his pram when we arrived home, we were hardly likely to make noise and wake him up. He then told me "you better speak better to me" I told him where to go and complained about him the next day as we really hadnt been noisy at all. After that he didnt come near. Our holiday really was great, would stay at Diana Palace again although not all inclusive. Please dont be fooled by all inclusive as i know if me and my husband hadnt been with my son, his girlfriend and baby they would have struggled.

A very enjoyable holiday, weather was gorgeous for the whole week. The island was beautiful, and the resort of argassi was lovely. All the staff were very friendly, and i met a lot of people out there. My room was good, double bed with a balcony. Food was ok, not all to my taste but i am a fussy eater, good selection overall. Pool was brilliant lots of sun loungers around so always somewhere to sit. The entertaiment was really good, two guys Rhys and Adam tried to get everyone involved and were really friendly. Always something to get involved with for all ages - from kids to adults. We went all inclusive and would definately recommend it. I had a very enjoyable holiday and would definately return to Diana Palace

The Receptionists are very helpful and book any activities you wish to do. The food is very good and have a variety of different types. The entertainment is very good and i joined in on a couple of them, the Greek night is very good fun as is the Karaoke. Thereis only two small failures, which are; The pool is quite deep for youngsters, and people come round trying to sell things. There is a smaller pool for the younger ones, so that isn't so bad. I have informed the hotel about the people in which try to sell you things and they said that they will take that on board. The rooms are excelent and the maids are very good and take alot of time in doing the rooms. the beach is very close and a nice 2-3 minute walk. There are alot of gift shops that you can pop into on your way to the beach. On the Thursday we went on a turtle trip which one of the receptionists told us about and sour a lot of them, about 10 - it wasgood fun. We went Allinclusive and the food was excelent!!!
It is a brilliant place to go and I would recomend it to any body.

this is your usual run of the mill greek hotel which is more of a spanish 3star than 4star.the food isnt 2bad if not a bit boring&quite repetative.anybody staying with children should b warned that the food choices are not made with children in mind&we seen alot of children really struggling 2 find a food they liked.the hotel also doesnt seem 2have any sort of nightly entertainment program so again keeping children entertained could b a big problem.i dont want 2 scare anybody from this hotel as my partner&i had a great week in argassi but if u dont expect 2much then you wont b disappointed.i would greatly recommend t free bus in2 st nicholas beach from outside the hotel as we had a great day out.we also hired a quad from a little shop just down the road from the front of the hotel&had a great time driving 2 laganus&kalamaki beach.overall both my partner&i had a great week in argassi&met some really nice friendly people, the hotel isnt as bad as what some people try 2make out so just go&enjoy your holiday.oh yes i nearly forgot 2 mention that everything seems so expensive now!!!!

We stayed at diana palace for two weeks self catering intailly. we read many reviews about the hotel and were quite worried about it. when we arrived it was lovely, it was clean and tidy and nicely presented. As we did go the first week in the season things were still starting to open up, so we were a bit rescrited to where to eat. The respionist told us she do us a special deal on staying all inclusive and said shed do at 28 euros a day, which me and partner thought was very good as we were easily spending that in a day with drinks as well. The all inclusive food is eatable but theres not much choice, we only done it for 5 days and were glad at the end of the 5 days to go self catering, and more things were starting to open up. Try legends for a cheap english meal it was great. theres loads tto do at argassi and we defently dident get bored in the two weeks we were there. PLease dont listen to any bad reviews about the hotel, its no where near like what they say.

because i am an 18 year old girl, i would rather stay in laganas which i have booked with my friends for summer 09, as it is more club 18-30 than argassi, but if you want the joys of clubs/bars on your doorstep but at the same time quite a family atmosphere then diana palace is for you. i stayed in diana palace in august 08 with the family, and it had something to offer for everyone of us.
apartments were clean, spacious, nothing to moan about at all, just your typical greek apartment. i have to warn you dont jump from one bed to the other , it slid and i ended up on my bum haha. balcony was facing a little waterfall feature towards to back of the hotel, quite pretty. the hotel is well placed, 'the factory' club is just outside main entrance so if you want a quiet stay try to get a room away from the front area. pool area really clean and tidy, always lilos there you can use. food from restaurant really nice, would recomend it. staff really nice, the man on the reception bar is quite a flirt to the young girls! i recomend magic mushroom bar/club, livens up about 1 o clock and stays open to early hours.
the beach isnt really much of a beach, some parts are nice but you cant really walk along it without walking across hard stones!
on the other hand there is a ruin on the beach which is quite pretty and many bars on the beach.
met some lovely people there, locals very.. sometimes overly friendly. over all it is a great place to go, for both families and a girly get away. its good having both family friendly features and pubs and clubs on your doorstep.
definatly reccommend!!

When we went to Hotel Dianna Palace we were verry well off! There is a good selection of shops and bars nearby and the clubs are open 24 hours so if you dont like a bit of noise all through the night then dont come here. We were ok with that because we didnt usually get in till late anyway! The hotel rooms dont have air conditioning avallible unless you pay for it and is verry expensive. The rooms are nicley furnished but the shower curtains are verry hard to control. We didnt have any trouble with bad guests which was good and the staff are mostly polite. This hotel would not be suitible for people who dont like stars because there is only one verry small lift which you have to be carefull of because the door open and close on opposte sides. There is also a nice rounded selection of day trips to visit including, water parks, Churches, boozy cruises and also the main shopping town in zante. The only few faults thet I would say that I experienced is the traffic, (Its manic around dinnertime.) and that the internet connection was always breaking down and failing to connect. Lastly, I would like to ad that a great free beach bar with swimming pool, free sunloungers with mats, free umbarellas, free pool toys, free table tennis area, grass area, restaurant, bat and friendly staff is nearby called Dimitrioes. Its open from early till late and is great to visit. Its cheap and cheerfull and is verry entertaining especially for kids.
