Stayed for 7 nights August 2nd 2007 in Room 604, they consider this a two bedroom apartment (which we paid for ) this is actually 2 bedrooms with a cooker, and a table for two. The rooms are run-down and the bathroom is in a very poor condition.
On informing the reception staff of this, they pretend not to understand and became extremely unhelpful and rude. The rep listened to everything and agreed but they were just as rude and unhelpful to her. At every opportunity they want to charge you for basics (ie) safe, air con, fridge.
The swimming pool is to small for the amount of guests and very dangerous as there is no indication of the depth of the water. This is not a 4 star Hotel, all the main staff were rude and ignorant with the exception of Sakithos who was in charge of the poolside bar.
Do not stay at the front of the hotel because of the noise from nightclubs outside your room until 4am. Worst place we have ever stayed in and travel abroad frequently,
Stay elsewhere would not recommend this accomodation.

Before we went on this holiday I was little concerned as some of the reviews were not great. We had a great holiday, the hotel was great, and the staff are really friendly.
The pool area is very spacious and the staff will bring drinks out to you. There is a mix of British, German, and French but you have to expect this in every hotel.
The food was not the best, if I went again I would go bed and breakfast as they cater more for the French and German holidaymakers.
The resort is lovely. Down by the marina is lovely there are loads of shops and bars and the beach is beautiful.
The local people will try and sell you things and the shopkeepers will try and get you to go in their shops. All you need to do is be polite and say no thank you. The best thing we found to do was to get prices and go back the last few days and buy things, but you must barter as they will start off really high so you must start off low.
I would recommend the fishing trip that MyTravel do as one of their excursions it was a really good day out. I would definitely go back.

Our holidays at Zakynthos Island could be the worst of my life, if we did not decide to leave Diana Palace from the second day and find another hotel! We booked two family studios at Diana Palace since June 2006 for the period 29-7-2006 to 5-8-2006.
Our agreement with the Diana Palace included a family studio for two adults and two children and a family studio for two adults and one child. The price included half-board. We did not have the option not to take the half-board for that period, although we didn’t want to eat at the hotel.
When we made the reservation of the two studios we insisted that we want comfortable rooms, comfortable balconies and kitchen with table and chairs as we have kids and we should pass plenty of time at the room. The staff at reservations department assured us to give us such rooms.
From the pictures and the description at the internet site of the hotel, we thought we had made a great deal with a very good family hotel. However appearance can be illusory! The photographs used at the website are very clever and beautify the appearance of the hotel. Question: Why really they offer only one photograph from the inside area of the rooms? Answer: Because the rooms are too small! They are a typical sample of the old philosophy for building hotels: make as many rooms as possible.
When we arrived at the hotel the reality was completely different from what we agreed. The rooms were extremely narrow and you can just sleep and not stay at the room at all. Balconies were the smallest I have ever seen and extremely oppressive. Kitchen was between the door of the room, the wardrobe and the door of the bathroom, therefore kitchen was useless. The baby-coat they gave us was designed for newborn babies although I informed them that my children was 3,5 and 1, years old.
The worst of all was the dirty bed linen and the existence of hairs everywhere (bathroom, bed linen and floor). Also the light of the bathroom did not work. The rate that we agreed for the rooms was too much for what we finally found there.
The same evening we asked at the reception to change our rooms with other more comfortable, according to our agreement, but this was not feasible. Next morning we asked again to change rooms but nothing happened again. At noon we notify the management of the hotel for our decision to leave Diana Palace so as not to destroy our holidays and this was the first time that they tried to find us a new more comfortable room. But we had already found other amazing apartments (for less money!). We had already paid 2,5 days in advance at Diana Palace but they did not discuss at all to give us money back.
Some more remarks: The pool area was always crowded and full of noisy English teenagers, so a peaceful family can’t use this facility. The quality of the food at the dinner and breakfast was very bad. The dinning room was overcrowded and very hot. The parking of hotel DIANA could not differ from the whole picture of the hotel: it was incommodious, doing car parking a difficult project!. Argasi is a common place which is adapted in the English way of living and it has already lost the traditional colour of a Greek Ionian Island.
I wish that I had read hotel reviews for Diana Palace before booking. Of course I won't go there again and my advice to other guests of the beautiful Island of Zakinthos is to avoid staying at DIANA Palace hotel.

I went to the Diana Palace hotel in the resort of Argassi in June 2006. The hotel was excellent, the room was thoroughly cleaned every day including all the bed linen being changed, the pool was lovely and so were the staff who work there.
There is no beach in Argassi but there is a free bus service to a very good beach about 15 minutes drive. However it is free on the condition that you hire a sun lounger for 4 euros (a bit sneaky but still worth it). In Argassi there is just one main street which consists of bars, souvenir shops and a couple of convenience stores, there are numerous payphones and one cash machine.
You can have a very good night out in Argassi relatively cheaply, cocktails vary from 3 euros to 4.5 euros each, places which we found had the best atmosphere were Avalon, Magic Mushroom and Factory. If you fancy a bit more of a club scene then head to Laganas which has been described as the new Ibiza, we went here one night and had an amazing time, it was absolutely heaving but we went to Rescue club where we knew Dave Pearce had recently played and it was awesome!
If you stay in Argassi I would highly recommend Diana Palace, I would definitely stay there again. Also go to St. Nicholas beach on the courtesy beach as it is a lovely place and you can do plenty of water sports there. The water was crystal clear with lots of tiny fish swimming right up to the shore.
The only thing which let this holiday down was the 8 hour delay to the flight home, we basically could have spent another day at the beach and just turned up at night.
MyTravel did try their best, they gave us a complimentary meal but there was so much hanging around in the heat and disorganisation that everyone ended up feeling thoroughly frustrated, 8 hours is a long time to wait. Forgetting this detail the holiday was fantastic with weather to match, I have many happy memories of Zante and will definitely be returning.

Stayed 2 weeks at the Diana Palace. Found the staff very helpful and friendly. We had a problem 4 days into our holiday. We heard a very loud noise and all the pipes in the bathroom were vibrating. Within 15 mins the hotel manageress solved the problem.
The room was kept very clean but I was disappointed - although we were self catering there was no table or chairs in the room. We only had breakfast in the room but had to use the small table in the balcony. good job it didn't rain.
The pool area looked very nice but loungers were cramped in like sardines in a tin, and you had to pay extra for the mattresses - 2 euros each bed each day.
Restaurants and bars were great - we preferred eating at Papillion (Italian) and Erato a traditional Greek restaurant. Food and staff were superb. The Jungle Plus bar was great in the evenings.
The free bus to St Nicolas beach came in very handy, we went most days.

I had a beautiful holiday at the Diana palace hotel. The rooms were kept very clean every day, the staff was very friendly without pretending. They treat every guest as a friend visiting their home. That was very fantastic. The buffet restaurant is very cosy. It is not very big but you can tell that the staff and the chef had worked very hard to present nice decorated buffet with nice taste.
The weather is fabulous and the beaches are the most beautiful I have ever seen. The water is like crystal and Nauagio is the most beautiful place.
We went to Zante town as well and apart from the beaches around we decided to visit some of the museums and churches. We have heard so much about the history of Zante so we took the chance. The most beautiful place is the Lofos Strani where the national anthem of Greece was written. We did not know that this took place in Zante and I must say that I was amazed.
I recommend Zakynthos and Diana palace hotel to everyone. My family and me will go back in the near future because one week was not enough.

This was a lovely hotel, kept very clean and the staff were wonderful. At first we were not happy with the room as we had been told that this was a 3+ star hotel and it definitely does not come up to that standard. The certificates displayed in the reception area are from 1997 so it is a bit of a con. Do not expect British 3+ star standards.
The main drawback about this hotel is the food. We stayed half board and to say that it is horrendous would be an understatement. It was dreadful and most days, unidentifiable. The breakfast was sloppy powdered scrambled eggs or hard boiled, there was bacon on one day, the coffee was transparent and the selection of fruit was poor.
The evening meal was even worse with a school dinner like theme, with just tray after tray of terrible cuisine, cold veg and soggy chips.
If you can brave the food or go self catering then this hotel is great, especially for families, but I do not think that anyone could survive on the food from this hotel alone.
Another point would be the two fellas across from the main entrance who will badger you non-stop to eat at their restaurants. These two men will ruin your holiday if you let them. Every time you leave, they will greet you as if you are a family member coming home from the war, with all manner of waves, whistles and greetings. These two do not take no for an answer and you will start to avoid them and make alternative routes. Do not let them get to you.

We loved this holiday. The hotel was clean, the rooms were great and the staff put clean towels in nearly every day. The pool is busy but we had a good laugh. The hotel is only a couple of minutes from the beach and very central. Overall I gave it a 9 but really should have given it a 10. It’s one of the few hotels I would not worry about booking again. The entertainment is cheesy/funny but no one stays in a hotel every night. The kids enjoy the daytime pool games etc. They have a pool table and put on films twice a day so mum and dad get a wee bit of piece.

Stayed at the Diana Palace Aparthotel for 14 nights 2nd Aug 07.
We had booked & paid for a 2 Bedroom apartment which we certainly did not get. Four in our party 2 Adults & 2 children. 2 of the beds were in the kitchen area of the apartment. We did complain to our Rep and the Reception staff at the hotel but it fell on deaf ears.
We stayed in Room 605, situated over a shop with the Prince of Asia Restaurant to the side.
The apartment overlooked a very noisy road, motor bikes racing round a t 3.30am, the view from the balcony was the Supermarket across the road. The Dining table only had two chairs so 2 of us had to sit on the beds to eat as no settee area was provided, lack of crockery, no socket in the kitchen area for the kettle, no plug for the bath, one wardrobe between 4 people. The maids were very poor at their job; twice we got dirty linen for the beds.
We had Air Con but it was a con because it was very expensive.
The pool was very nice but you did tend to be sat on top of everyone else round the pool. Ate only once in the hotel restaurant as the food was awful, but we did find several very nice restaurants nearby, some of which we ate at twice.
I would certainly not book to stay at this hotel again, it is certainly not four stars, & I would not recommend it to anyone. Considering we had paid so much money the hotel staff were extremely unhelpful they just did not want to know.
