JUST HOME FROM THE H10 SALAURIS PALACE HOTEL (JULY 08).
THE HOTEL IS IN A GREAT LOCATION FOR PORT AVENTURA.
THE ROOM WAS NICE WITH 2 DOUBLE BEDS AND 2 SINGLE, TV AND DRESSING TABLE.
THE BATHROOM WAS LARGE BUT COULD DO WITH RE-GROUTING ROUND THE SHOWER/BATH AREA.
THE STAFF WERE GREAT HELPFUL AND KIND. BUT THE FOOD.......... IT WAS NOT GOOD AT ALL. IF YOU LIKE RAW CHICKEN AND PORK THEN YOUR LANDED, BUT WITH 2 CHILDREN UNDER 6 I DON'T THINK THAT'S A GOOD COMBINATION. WE SPOKE TO NUMEROUS COUPLE'S AND THEY WERE ALL ILL, WE HAD A COUPLE OF DAYS OF ILLNESS.
I WOULD AVOID THIS HOTEL AGAIN IF I WAS RETURNING TO SALOU.

We have recently returned from a wonderful holiday at the Salauris Palace Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated just down the road from the Port Aventura resort hotels and you can even see the fireworks at night from the hotel steps! We regularly spent time at the park and this was just a 10 minute walk on a slight hill. Travelling with my husband and son (aged 10) we were impressed with the standard of accommodation and were fortunate enough to be allocated room 442 which is a lovely 4 bedded room with loads of space over looking the pool. The pool area is lovely and because many residents were off to the park or water park most days, sun loungers were gotten without the usual fight. Every week the hotel would put large inflatables into the pool for the children to play on, this was well supervised by life guards. The restaurant was well laid out and the food in abundance. My only complaint was lack of red meat! If you like Pork and Tuna you will be fine. Salads were lovely and the sweets even better. The hotel has a locked back entrance and can be accessed by using your room card, we were pleased with this and felt our child was secure whilst in the hotel grounds. The hotel is spacious and our son enjoyed the games room and the outside pool tables and occasionally had a game of basket ball on the court next to the kids play area. The hotel is another 10 min walk from the shops, bars and restaurants. We enjoyed going to Michaelangelos for a snack (this is a lovely bakery, on the same lines as greggs) and was cost effective and tasty for bagettes. If you enjoy live music and great atmosphere then I would also recommend a trip to 'Danny Boys' - the Irish Bar. We had 2 great nights and buy one cocktail get one free was the icing on the cake. We will definately be returning to Salou as we really enjoyed the theme park and aquapolis water park and we would definately come back to the Salauris Palace. Be warned a week is not long enough at this resort!

I have stayed at the Salauris palace hotel on a previous holiday, hence the reason I went again this year.
The hotel is beautiful and very clean, situated centrally within walking distance of all amenities and town centre.
I stayed on a half board basis amd found the food this time very repetitive, if you liked veal or fish you were okay as this was on the menu every night in some shape or form. My teenage daughter and her friend lived on chips, cheese and crusty bread for a fortnight I survived on salads. With the food being like that I found I was taking the girls out for food which meant I was spending double to feed them.
That was my only gripe about the hotel until I reached the airport for my return journey and discovered to my dismay that £60 of English money had been removed from my purse and £20 English money from my daughter's.
These purses were in the safe all of our holiday up until the 5 July 08 the Saturday before we came home and we were packing, we unfortunately left them in our cases ready to put in our bags in the morning.
My sister in law then telephoned me when she got home to tell me that she had misplaced three tops. She knows these items were not left in the room as we are very thorough when it comes to checking rooms before we leave. These items have then been taken from her case, when we don't know but we know for a fact these have been taken.
It seems a pity that these things have to spoil a holiday and make people wary of going on holida, we paid the extra money to visit a 4 start hotel and a very well known one at that, only to have this happen. to say we are severely disappointed is a big understatement.
I on a number of occassions had a problem with my swipe card while trying to enter my room, I then asked the maid if she would let me into my room, this was done without even asking for proof that I even stayed in the hotel or if in fact that was even my room. I could easily have been entering anyone's room. This security aspect should be picked up on for future purposes.
Overall I had a fantastic holiday and would go back to Salauris Palace without hesitation but I would check on this aspect and inform them of my experience this time.

There is nothing bad I have to say about this hotel it was really lovely, I would def want to stay there again, there was so much choice of food, for breakfast and dinner. The rooms were modern and extremely clean. The staff were friendly and it was situated in a perfect location close to everything. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I (21) and my Partner (24) stayed in the Salauris Palace for 2 weeks in September 2007.
I read a lot of reviews before I went and had mixed feelings about the hotel, but my opinion was its fantastic! We couldn't fault anything with it.
The rooms were lovely and big, cleaned every day, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was massive with both a bath and shower.
The hotel itself was always clean and is very comfortable, the bar area is nice along with the Swimming area etc.
The food was nice, a bit repetitive but there was plenty to choose from. The hotel has an outside pool (which is lovely and cold, it was a god send when the weather was red hot) there is also an indoor pool but you have to wear a swimming cap so we didn't bother.
On the roof there is a Jacuzzi and some sun loungers, it's lovely and quiet up there - it was nice because there was no kids. The hotel is a good 15 minutes walk to the beach and about 10 minutes to some of the main bars.
There is plenty of things to do in Salou; we went for a relaxing holiday so spent most of our time on the beach or by the pool. We went on Hagel & Splash cruise (paid 39 Euros each through the rep) wasn't worth the money really.
Would recommend the Titanic bar which is just over the road from the hotel and also the Bus Stop & 007 bar.

This hotel was very clean and very friendly catering for all kinds of people. It is an excellent hotel for families as the rooms are spacious especially with 2 children and are cleaned every day.
Food quality is excellent but did become a bit repetitive after 2 weeks. Entertainment was generally good, although kid’s entertainment was mainly for the Spanish holidaymakers. Salou is a great place to either kick back and relax or be active with regular buses or trains to take you wherever you want to go.
We would recommend this resort and hotel to anyone especially families.

my husband, myself and my 11 year old son went for a fortnight in july 2007. we had a ball. the food was varied, i would have to say there was something for everyone and if anyone has a moan about the food, well i'm sorry but you obviously just like a moan for the sake of it. we had breakfast and evening meal, but if you were going out for a night or going on a trip if you asked the day before you could change your meal to lunch time. there are 2 large buffet type hotplates and a large carvery and the food doesn't lie there for ages, fresh trays are taken out regularly. i would highly recommend this hotel. we are booking again for next year and hopefully october this year. as for the staff not speaking english, well we didn't learn to speak spanish did you.

Just came back from Salauris Palace. Had read the previous reviews and I was a bit worried with 2 children aged 9 and 2 as part of our group. Well, I cannot fault this hotel, the staff were friendly, hotel was of a very good standard, we booked a family room which was lovely. The only down side was there was not much wardrobe space for 2 adults and 2 children.
Food was very good; buffet style with an additional carvery every night. The pool was very clean and no problem getting sun beds in the morning at 10am. Shops were only 5 minutes walk away and Portaventura was fabulous; a must.
The children loved it with a mini disco and entertainment in the evening with 'Daisy' the hotel mascot; a walking daisy which my 2 year old son loved.
I would not go back to Salou as the resort was not my cup of tea however I would definitely stay at an H10 hotel again.
Don't be put off by the bad reports!!

Home from Home, that sums up our stay at this H10 Hotel, Salou. We had a 10 day stay in June with our 2 year old daughter, we were very impressed with this hotel, couldn't fault it one bit.
The rooms were spotless and a good size. The food was good, great variety every night and the kids buffet was excellent. Only a 10 minute walk from the beach and local shops/bars/restaurants, very clean place and would consider returning in the next few years.
If you have kids then they'll love this hotel, our daughter was entertained day and night!! Only a 5 minute walk from the adventure and water park!!

The Salauris Palace has some good points, and some not so good. If you like a central hotel with shops and bars nearby, then this is not for you. It is a twenty minute walk into town where you will find all the shops, restaurants and bars.
It is only 300 m to the Port Aventura theme park, with some very busy roads to cross. The hotel has a cosmopolitan feel with many German, French and Spanish stopping there.
The plus parts are actually the hotel itself. It is light and airy and very modern. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bathroom is larger than most and has a shower and bidet. The facilities include Jacuzzi, sauna, mini gym, indoor heated pool and outdoor fresh water pool. The food is of fine quality and plentiful of choice, whether it's salads or fish courses to meats and wonderful desserts, you'll never leave the restaurant feeling hungry.
The staff are pleasant and helpful, we decided to use the local taxi's into town which was between 4-5 Euros. Our taxi to the airport was 28 Euros. All in all, a pleasant stay, but a little too far from the action for us.

After having our flight times changed again buy direct ,we finally arrived later than we should and missed our evening meal.
This was no fault of the hotel, which is fantastic, very clean and tidy, good size rooms with a safe and mini fridge which came in handy.
Great location 10mins walk to Portaventura and beach. Entertainment very good, friendly staff, food nice with plenty of choice. Booked again for next year.

We went on a 7 day half board holiday and we will not be back to this hotel. The worst aspect was the food which was very Spanish orientated.
The quality was very poor and we found we had to eat out most nights which was really annoying. Also the staff were very unfriendly although I think this was more or less because they can’t speak much English.
Overall it has put us off going half board anywhere again

Well, I must say me and my family had an absolutely amazing time at the Salauris Palace Hotel! I can’t believe the comments about the poor food from the previous rating as we found the food to a very high standard. What ever time you went there was always plenty of food and the staff were always busy trying to clear the tables to make room for new guests. The food came in a variety so you never got bored and was always properly cooked.
The hotel was very clean, the rooms being spacious and well maintained made our stay even better. The reps tried there best to help with days out etc so you always knew what you could do around in Spain.
The night atmosphere was really warm and friendly and there is something for everyone to do. Although if you want to go to sleep before 12 you may not want a pool side room!
Finally the hotel is in a brilliant location for the theme park, beaches and excursions to Barcelona making Spain an unforgettable holiday. In all we would definitely recommend this hotel to guests in the future!

We have just returned from the Salauris Palace on a two week stay. Well where do I start? The hotel itself is very modern and clean close to the theme parks and beach, and the food well!
At the start of the holiday it was ok but gradually went on a steep decline. Both the breakfast and dinner food was often cold. Most of the meat was not cooked raw in the middle this included the children’s food. One night my toddler want a burger from the children’s selection and when it was cut open it was bright red and raw in the centre. I took it to the manager who was in the restaurant and his reply was "some people like it like that". My answer was that you do not give children raw meat.
Many families complained about the poor standards of the food and in two cases the manager just smiled and laughed.
Plates were stacked high on your table before they got cleared and food wasn’t replaced when it had run out quickly enough. This wasn’t the only major conflict the sun bed war went on outside as there are not enough beds for guests.
We have been to another H0 hotel before and the standards of food and service varied greatly. Our poor rep spent most of his time filling in complaint forms!

We stayed at the Salauris Palace in July 2005 for a week on a half board basis which we got as a late deal.
The Salauris Palace is a very comfortable 4 star hotel, we had a great time there, excellent amenities and only 10 minuets walk from Port Aventura. The food in the hotel is excellent and we always managed to get a table, even at busy times. The pool is very large but does get busy during the day, if you are looking for some quiet time I would go up to roof terrace where you can sunbath in peace (there is also a hot tub up there, but we never used this)
The rooms are a very good size and have a safe inside them, along with a TV. The only problem that we had was our room was a pool view and on an evening the entertainment was very loud and could be heard quite clearly in our room with all the doors closed, so I would recommend requesting a non pool side view if you have children as the entertainment went on until at least midnight every night. There is also a small fridge in each room which you have to pay to use (it is locked with a key) and I would say that this isn’t worth the money as it is only a mini bar and isn’t very cold.
All in all we would defiantly go back as it was excellent service that we got from the hotel.
