We had a great week at the Salauris Palace, all the staff were very friendly there was plenty of choice at meal times and the Hotel was clean and well run catering for famailies and couples. The only problems we had was with the excursions recommended by Thomas Cook. Very overpriced for what you get, one of the staff on the jeep adventure said that you can get a package of 4 different trips for 80e per person if you book direct, thomas cook charge 40e per trip on average (thats 20e each in commision) One definately to avoid is the haggle and splash as they list snorkelling eqiupment supplied but ther wasn't any and you get to spend 2 hours walking round a dodgy market on your own, when something goes wrong and you complain to the reps on site the're not interested, just tell you what you want to hear and then spend the rest of your holiday trying to dodge you. Also avoid the free days out, they say you have to listen to a 20 minute presentation on sleep therapy and the rest of the day is yours, It's actaually more like a 2 hour presentation trying to sell you beds at 1000e each. If you want a day on the beach get the bus to Cap Solou, lovely bays not many people

clean , nicely decorated , large pools and great entertainment.

I have stayed at the Salauris Palace 3 times, and hoping to book again for next Summer. It is ideally located in a quieter part of town but only 5 minutes walk to the shops and bars, 10 min walk to the beach. Is located on a quite busy road though - but not noisy.
Food is excellent, however the first time I stayed there we were there 2 weeks and obviously they repeat the menu every week, so did get a bit samey. Plenty of choice though and even a special childrens food section and puddings galore.
Great for kids, plenty going on of a night and they have a small play area for them. Their best kept secret is a rooftop solarium which gives you a great view of the Dragon Khan ride at Port Aventura - a great day out ! A short taxi ride away, but you can walk home down the hill ! Staff very friendly and the reception has air conditioning, great when you come in. Rooms spacious and clean, can't fault the place. Have a great time!

Stayed at the H10 Salauris Palace Hotel in September 2008. Having stayed at a previous 4 star H10 hotel in another resort, we expected the standard to be the same which was excellent.
Unfortunately we were sadly disappointed. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The food is cold, uncooked and inedible. We tried visiting the restaurant at different times but this was to no effect. We only ate twice and had to go out every other night for a meal. Ridiculous when you have paid for Half Board.
The maid service may be good regarding cleanliness but the noise made by them from 7.30am is annoying when the purpose of a holiday is to relax and have a lie-in!! Not possible when the scraping of furniture and slamming of doors is horrendous!
On a positive, the pool area is good, snacks at the pool bar are good and the reception staff are most helpful.
Would strongly not recommend this hotel as it definitely is not a 4 star by any stretch of the imagination, it is more like a 2/3 star.

We have recently returned from a wonderful holiday at the Salauris Palace Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated just down the road from the Port Aventura resort hotels and you can even see the fireworks at night from the hotel steps! We regularly spent time at the park and this was just a 10 minute walk on a slight hill. Travelling with my husband and son (aged 10) we were impressed with the standard of accommodation and were fortunate enough to be allocated room 442 which is a lovely 4 bedded room with loads of space over looking the pool. The pool area is lovely and because many residents were off to the park or water park most days, sun loungers were gotten without the usual fight. Every week the hotel would put large inflatables into the pool for the children to play on, this was well supervised by life guards. The restaurant was well laid out and the food in abundance. My only complaint was lack of red meat! If you like Pork and Tuna you will be fine. Salads were lovely and the sweets even better. The hotel has a locked back entrance and can be accessed by using your room card, we were pleased with this and felt our child was secure whilst in the hotel grounds. The hotel is spacious and our son enjoyed the games room and the outside pool tables and occasionally had a game of basket ball on the court next to the kids play area. The hotel is another 10 min walk from the shops, bars and restaurants. We enjoyed going to Michaelangelos for a snack (this is a lovely bakery, on the same lines as greggs) and was cost effective and tasty for bagettes. If you enjoy live music and great atmosphere then I would also recommend a trip to 'Danny Boys' - the Irish Bar. We had 2 great nights and buy one cocktail get one free was the icing on the cake. We will definately be returning to Salou as we really enjoyed the theme park and aquapolis water park and we would definately come back to the Salauris Palace. Be warned a week is not long enough at this resort!

I have stayed at the Salauris palace hotel on a previous holiday, hence the reason I went again this year.
The hotel is beautiful and very clean, situated centrally within walking distance of all amenities and town centre.
I stayed on a half board basis amd found the food this time very repetitive, if you liked veal or fish you were okay as this was on the menu every night in some shape or form. My teenage daughter and her friend lived on chips, cheese and crusty bread for a fortnight I survived on salads. With the food being like that I found I was taking the girls out for food which meant I was spending double to feed them.
That was my only gripe about the hotel until I reached the airport for my return journey and discovered to my dismay that £60 of English money had been removed from my purse and £20 English money from my daughter's.
These purses were in the safe all of our holiday up until the 5 July 08 the Saturday before we came home and we were packing, we unfortunately left them in our cases ready to put in our bags in the morning.
My sister in law then telephoned me when she got home to tell me that she had misplaced three tops. She knows these items were not left in the room as we are very thorough when it comes to checking rooms before we leave. These items have then been taken from her case, when we don't know but we know for a fact these have been taken.
It seems a pity that these things have to spoil a holiday and make people wary of going on holida, we paid the extra money to visit a 4 start hotel and a very well known one at that, only to have this happen. to say we are severely disappointed is a big understatement.
I on a number of occassions had a problem with my swipe card while trying to enter my room, I then asked the maid if she would let me into my room, this was done without even asking for proof that I even stayed in the hotel or if in fact that was even my room. I could easily have been entering anyone's room. This security aspect should be picked up on for future purposes.
Overall I had a fantastic holiday and would go back to Salauris Palace without hesitation but I would check on this aspect and inform them of my experience this time.

There is nothing bad I have to say about this hotel it was really lovely, I would def want to stay there again, there was so much choice of food, for breakfast and dinner. The rooms were modern and extremely clean. The staff were friendly and it was situated in a perfect location close to everything. I would highly recommend this hotel.

my husband, myself and my 11 year old son went for a fortnight in july 2007. we had a ball. the food was varied, i would have to say there was something for everyone and if anyone has a moan about the food, well i'm sorry but you obviously just like a moan for the sake of it. we had breakfast and evening meal, but if you were going out for a night or going on a trip if you asked the day before you could change your meal to lunch time. there are 2 large buffet type hotplates and a large carvery and the food doesn't lie there for ages, fresh trays are taken out regularly. i would highly recommend this hotel. we are booking again for next year and hopefully october this year. as for the staff not speaking english, well we didn't learn to speak spanish did you.

I (21) and my Partner (24) stayed in the Salauris Palace for 2 weeks in September 2007.
I read a lot of reviews before I went and had mixed feelings about the hotel, but my opinion was its fantastic! We couldn't fault anything with it.
The rooms were lovely and big, cleaned every day, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was massive with both a bath and shower.
The hotel itself was always clean and is very comfortable, the bar area is nice along with the Swimming area etc.
The food was nice, a bit repetitive but there was plenty to choose from. The hotel has an outside pool (which is lovely and cold, it was a god send when the weather was red hot) there is also an indoor pool but you have to wear a swimming cap so we didn't bother.
On the roof there is a Jacuzzi and some sun loungers, it's lovely and quiet up there - it was nice because there was no kids. The hotel is a good 15 minutes walk to the beach and about 10 minutes to some of the main bars.
There is plenty of things to do in Salou; we went for a relaxing holiday so spent most of our time on the beach or by the pool. We went on Hagel & Splash cruise (paid 39 Euros each through the rep) wasn't worth the money really.
Would recommend the Titanic bar which is just over the road from the hotel and also the Bus Stop & 007 bar.

This hotel was very clean and very friendly catering for all kinds of people. It is an excellent hotel for families as the rooms are spacious especially with 2 children and are cleaned every day.
Food quality is excellent but did become a bit repetitive after 2 weeks. Entertainment was generally good, although kid’s entertainment was mainly for the Spanish holidaymakers. Salou is a great place to either kick back and relax or be active with regular buses or trains to take you wherever you want to go.
We would recommend this resort and hotel to anyone especially families.

We stayed here 18th July 2011 for one week, two adults (40's) and 15-year-old son. The hotel was of a good standard; clean, well laid out, reasonably sized rooms, flat screen tv, good sized balcony with furniture.
Salou is quite built up so space is at a premium, therefore the pool area is tight for space. Not an issue for us as we are beach people and the beach of Salou is absolutely stunning; wide, golden sands, lots of sunbeds and various umbrella/shade options. All these facilities are pay for, but comfort on holiday is something we are happy to pay for. Each section of beach has it's own beach bar/lunch shack, and the beach side facilities for toilets, gym, exercise classes, fashion shows, light shows, is just amazing.
Food in the hotel was OK, not spectacular but could definitely find something different to eat every breakfast and evening meal. My only gripe : very little or no vegetables at evening meal time. The hotel caters for a variety of nationalities and clearly vegetables with dinner isn't as standard elsewhere as in the UK.
Overall, a comfortably priced hotel, well located for Port Aventura (one direction) or the beach and bars (opposite direction). BEWARE, the eurozone is very expensive at present : Half Board for one week, we needed a further £150 spending money than budgeted for.
