Grace Bay Club Hotel

My family and I had a wonderful and peaceful time. We stayed at the Villas because of our children's ages, 11 and 9. The Grace Bay Club was actually closed for renovation. The property is absolutely beautiful. I booked directly from the hotel and Angella couldn't have been more gracious. We were greeted at the airport and taken directly to the hotel/condo. We arrived at the Grace Bay club in August of 06 for our 29th anniversary. We have been to many a hotel and resort and the second we checked in we knew this place was special. We were welcomed and made to feel as if our presence there was as exciting for them as it was for us. We had a wonderful stay at the Grace Bay Club in the Turks and Caicos. The hotel was really lovely and our room, a junior suite, was very nice. We loved the big bathroom, with the tub overlooking the ocean! The view from the balcony was beautiful overlooking the pool and beach. I want to start off by saying I didn't stay here. I stayed at the Turks and Caicos Club. I was curious to check out Grace Bay Club since that was our second runner up. We had lunch at the pool side restaurant and I just wanted to report my observations. First of all, both the resort itself and the area around it is undergoing major construction. The beach is pretty crowded (especially for an "off" time like 5:00) compared the beaches of other resorts on the island. The Grace Bay Club is absolutely fantastic. We went with another family. We have 2 small children. The other family has 3. The 3 BR villa we stayed in was beautiful and the view of the ocean was gorgeous. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We celebrated my husband's birthday on the island. The staff made his birthday dinner very special. Ulf and his staff, Christina and Rafael set up a fabulous dinner in our villa. The food (especially the cake) was delicious. We stayed at Grace Bay Club (GBC) from 6/3 - 6/10. This was a revisit from last year. Things at GBC have changed/grown and depending on your perspective, it might be more suitable -- or less so because GBC is becoming more family oriented. It is still advertised that children under the age of 12 are not permitted but the villas are quite conducive to family vacations and there were plenty of children there. We stayed at Grace Bay Villas, because the Club part does not allow children. Beautiful grounds, beautiful rooms. Very pleasant workers, and great beach attendants. We did have minor complaints: My daughter shut the safe without a code, and they never fixed it, so we had to carry all of out money with us the whole time. They also didn't tell us the fun stuff, like breakfast included, nor where and when. They give sorbets throughout the day, and have bottled cold water all day. We just returned from a stay at the Gray Bay Club, and I must say it is a beautiful, breathtaking resort. I like other reviewers have stayed at 5 Star Hotels around the globe and The Grace Bay Club was on par with any of them. We stayed in the new suites that look exactly like the pictures (posted by Member from Northeast Florida on April 1). As other reviewers before me have stated--based on some of the reviews that are posted on this site, I was a bit unsure as to what to expect from Grace Bay Club, particularly in the way of service. Having just spent a week at this beautiful resort, I can say that this was unequivocally one of the best vacation experiences my husband and I have ever had.
