Edward Hotel

This hotel has a historical theme running through it which is actually quite charming and endearing. Decor in the bedroom is good with some nice unusual historical touches. The hotel's strongest point was the excellent service of the helpful and friendly staff. The cooked breakfast was excellent, and made to order. GREAT Hotel, actually the best one in Gloucester VERY friendly staff and the room is actually really nice. However you pay for what you get as this is a very expensive hotel, but the rooms are nice and the staff are friendly. There is a lil thing worth mentioning and that is that the hotel is not exactly in the city centre it is about 10 minutes walk to the city centre, it is on the National Express route from Longford. great overall hotel and amazing breakfast.

Myself and my elderly mother (82) were booked into the Edward hotel in May 2006. i had been told by the proprietor it was a "city centre" hotel (as stated on the web site). it is infact out of the town centre by a good 15-20 minutes walk especially if you have an elderly person with you. as a result of this, i had to try and arrange another place at short notice for myself and my mother to stay which was centrally located. the owners of the Edward hotel then took full payment for the room ( which we did not stay in) as we had... more

Very nice B&B just outside the town centre - fairly to easy to find if arriving by car, but car park is through narrow side street. Individually styled rooms - all with personal touch - we had three different ones. Good breakfast - dinner option they do not promote - perhaps meaning they really do not want guests for dinner! Friendy staff - definitely a place we would return to if in Gloucester - but the town did not have that much to offer

From the minute we arrived, having had a long train journey from North East Scotland, we were made to feel welcome and our room was so comfortable. Next morning, a sumptuous breakfast set us up for a day's exploring Gloucester's shops and markets before we set off on our travels again. The location is great for sightseeing and we will certainly recommend this hotel to anyone comtemplating visiting Gloucester.
