Great value for money, having read some reviews before we left I was slightly concerned what others had wrote about the food, however we found the meals to be better than expected with a different menu everyday. The chef cooks the meats in front of you and snacks through... more

Dreadful, just got back last night. I and my friend went for a week, to just relax and do nothing. Our first impression of the complex was shabby. The steps were crumbling, the door was stuck we had to force it open, once inside it was as shabby as outside. There is a very... more

Corralejo was a nice resort, reasonably quiet with a good mix of restaurants, though it was the off season when we went. However, there's not too much to do on Fuerteventura as an island and it would be better suited to people who enjoy lying by the pool/ on the beach. ... more

I loved these apartments except for the brick hard beds. You have to hire electrical appliances which didn’t bother us too much as we ate out all of the time. Toasters and kettles should be standard issues in self-catering apartments, though. The apartments were very... more

Just what the Doctor ordered
We enjoyed a sunny week in Fuerteventura, staying at the Brisamar. During our stay the weather was excellent - in the high 20s - throughout the week. The Brisamar has a perfectly acceptable pool with plenty of loungers and the nearest beach is a 5 minute walk, so we enjoyed lounging around enjoying the weather. Corralejo was also a nice surprise - we hadn't really done too much research beforehand, so to find a nice main street full of shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep of the hotel was great. There are plenty of places to have a drink or dine out and nightlife too. We stayed on all inclusive basis, mainly because it was practically the same as half-board (£330 inc flights per person), and although the food was not anything I would be proud of cooking myself, it was not bad and with the all inclusive a few nice beers by the pool could be had. As said earlier, it is worth eating out a bit to enjoy Corralejo, so I would not recommend all-inc unless it makes financial sense. The hotel staff were pleasant, the rooms clean - and actually quite big and well equipped with fridge and mini-kitchen, living room area and balcony. You could arrange trips through the hotel or hire bikes, which we did do to visit Flag beach nearby, which is a great place to watch kite surfing. The hotel has squash and tennis courts. There are plenty of other trips and things to do on Fuerteventura or Lanzarote next door. All in all - a very pleasant and good value week in the sun, in November!
Excellent value for money and fantastic location
Booked all inclusive for a cheap weeks holiday. The food was really nice and fresh each evening and the breakfast we have to say was one of the best we have had for a long time. Loads of choice. Large apartment and maid came to clean the room every other day. Apartment was just off the main strip and supermarket very close a few mins walk away. Beach takes about 5 mins to walk and there are loads of restuarants shops and bars to choose from and good live bands in Corralejo. Was a bit concerned on reviews we had read but this was really good value for money and cannot complain. Definitely 3 stars so don't expect any more.
just what we wanted
A late booking just five weeks before departure we wanted to chill, good surroundings food and hotel and that is exactly what we got. The apartments were lovely, The food was excellent, wine was good too. All staff extremely helpfull and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble Loved it. The pool area is Fantastic well maintained and Good Music. We had a Great time I would definately go back and recommend it to anybody. Things to do near by if you would like more life. Stella-Maria Lopez
Nice surroundings - Improvements needed on alot of things though
The hotel itself does look lovely, the rooms are very spacious and have kettle, fridge etc. Please don't be fooled by some internet explanations - there is NO air conditioning. (Brisimar own another hotel accross the road which does have air con). Fan hire is 15 euro a week. We did have our room 'cleaned' by that I mean a bit of a wipe round and floors swept a bit. Bedding and towels were changed every other day - no cleaning service at all on Sundays. Our main door was left open on 3 occaisions after cleaners had been which I told reception all 3 times. This hotel has no security and it anyone can walk in and out of the complex which they did. There is one large pool and jaccuzi and children's pool - all salt water and good for the skin! The food in the main restaurant is very poor- pork or fish which they re heat and re-serve for a few days in a row. The salad and fruit bar is also 'recycled' food. There were a lot of complaints so they added chicken nuggets to the menu.......The main bar next door is only open from 9pm - 11pm every night and the smell is disgusting - raw sewage. you can sit outside however there is a big wall in the way and you haven't got any view - like a dungeon and the smell is unbearable. The pool bar is nice and serves snacks when the main restaurant is closed. Isobel works in there 6 days a week and she is great - she doesn't stop all day and cooks a good cheesburger! Ice-cream, local beer and vodka as well as some snacks are free, you can have other snacks in there but you have to pay. The pool bar could do with being open later than 6pm with theme nights and BBQs etc into the evenings as the entertainment is limited to say the least. The hotel is right near the main street where there are shops, bars and restaurants - there is no disturbance from late night revellers which is good. We went to a couple of english bars just down the road a few times. One to vsit is called Talk of the Town, good atmosphere, friendly staff and within this bar is 'The Town Frier' where you can get the good old british fish and chips etc. Neil who owns this does a mean curry sauce too!! This bar is within a row of 4 or 5 and at the bottom is Penny Lane who serve a good Full English and Sunday roasts within their varied menu. A couple of nice restaurants for the evenings include The Stakehouse - reasonable price but the beer is expensive, and Hong Kong chinese retaurant - around 8 euro for buffett - lovely food, See Danny, he'll look after you! All in all this hotel is good for where it is situated but it relly does need updating, cleaning properly, the smell sorting out and some decent food served!
OK, BUT COULD BE SO MUCH BETTER.
The Hotel has very spacious rooms and nice furnishings with a large balcony. Beds are awful, so hard and lumpy pillows. Food not bad, service around the restaurant and bar excellent. Pool area was clean and tidy. Room was very clean when we arrived, but no cleaning done the rest of the week, and two days they did not make the beds, not so good. They close the pool bar at 6pm so if you want further drinks later you have to go to the dungeon they call the theatre, a dingy dark smelly place. Needless to say we didn't bother. The Hotel could be so much better if they kept the pool bar open and had some themed evenings like a bar bq or something. Also the rooms need some TLC and they need some decent cleaners who can sweep the floor and wipe down some surfaces. The resort is ok, but the local beaches suck. The best beaches are flag beach and the dunes near the two Riu hotels, hire a bike. Places to go are music square, the rock bars ( great live music ) and a wonderful little Moroccan type bar on the local beach called serenity, really cheap and great food and atmosphere
Great Location, Poor Evening Bar.
This hotel is situated a very short distance from the main drag through Corralejo. It really is a good location. Tha actual hotel is not too bad. The rooms/apartments are generous in size and although we stayed all inclusive, there was a kitchenette with all the basics required, ie kettle, hob, suacepans, plates, cutlery etc. The pool bar is very good during the day, however the bar for the evening was extremely poor. We went out every night without fail. Luckily the bars and restaurants in Corralejo are plentiful and as previously mentioned very close by. I would rate the holiday as follows: Resort - 9/10 Hotel Location - 9/10 Pool - 8/10 Food - 6/10 Room - 7/10 Evening Bar/Entertainment - 2/10 Hotel Staff - 9/10 Cleanliness - 8/10 All in all, we would return but with the knowledge that we need to go out in the evenings to eat/drink.
Been left to ruin...
One word to describe this hotel is disgusting! The pool must of been gorgeous when it was first built, but it has been allowed to grow mould ALL over the bottom of it. And has little bits of rubbish floating about in it! Yuk! The rooms on first look are nicely laid out, with new looking furniture. But opening a cupboard and the door almost fell off... none of the cupboards or drawers closed properly, or got stuck when opening them. The windows in the bedroom rattled as they didn't shut flush, and weren't sealed. Its such a shame as it could be such a lovely hotel, but has obviously not been properly looked after. We ended up leaving after one night as I couldn't (try to) sleep in that room again. Book this if it is your cheapest choice, but I would definately pay a little more just to get somewhere comfortable. We moved to Cay Beach Villas in Calleta De Fuste (see my other review) instead, which were cheaper and 200% better value!!
very disappointed with Brisamar
Great location for town centre(corralejo) which is why we booked the Brisamar. Condition of room was poor & badly needing an upgrade. The pool was well looked after & also had a lifeguard in attendance all day. As the room has no air con. we needed a fan which was 15 euro to hire plus 10 euro deposit. We have stayed in a few apprtments in the town over the years & I would say we were not impressed with the Brisamar.
Fantastic Hotel, Highly Recommended
We stayed here in September for a week and were looking for a relaxing holiday, with a nice appartment, nice pool and pleasant surroundings and were not disappointed. All the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly, the pool was gorgeous and very quiet - no problems getting a sunbed at any point during the day, and the appartment was very spacious and clean. We also noticed it was very accesible for anybody who is disabled or has walking difficulties (if you request a ground floor appartment!) It even had a ramp and railings going into the pool as not all do. The food was typical for all inclusive but there was something for everybody and a great chance to try some local delicacies and although the pool bar shuts at 6, there are self service taps of beer, wine, sangria and soft drinks in the restaurant. The location of the Brisamar was excellent a stones throw from shops and restaurants and 400m to the beach. It was also only 5 Euros for a taxi to the sand dunes with much larger and quieter beaches. A perfect hotel for people looking for a relaxing holiday in the sun. We will be returning!!
great location
Stayed here in Jan with my boyfriend. The location was great and had a lovely clean pool. We didnt eat here but did see alot of people eating and the food looked basic but nice. This was not our first visit to Corralejo and so we knew our way around but staying here you couldnt go off track. Its on the strip and loads of bars shops and restaurants are very close by. The apartment was cleaned daily and the complex was kept very well. Would I go back, Defo and I would stay here again?...........I would.
